How so? Personally, I agree but I'm not sure we are thinking of simplify in the same way. The way I see it, giving over your life to a higher power and no longer having to think for yourself is definitely simpler but I don't think that's a good thing.

Because one can make the world a better place without bothering with God and religion in the first place, so given that, why bother with it all?

I left them in Valhalla.

I smell alts.

I don't really disagree with that. Although I think you have to take each religion as a separate entity, rather than lumping them into a general category. The stupid parts of each religion tend to vary a lot, as do the depressing parts. Very true. Technically, I'm not an atheist but a generalized polythiest. Currently, I'm worshipping the pantheon of deities popularized by the ancient Greeks: Zeus, Hera, Hermes etc and so forth. You know, a lot of people believe that earthquakes are caused by some bizarre thing called plate tectonics, but the truth is that earthquakes are caused by Poseidon getting angry and slamming his trident into the sea floor. I really wish people would stop trying to dimish the role of the gods with all this secular nonesense and made up junk.

I've always seen religion as one part depressing and another part stupid. Hmmm. Where do we go from here?

Weren't most of the books in Oblivion brought over from Morrowind? Yes. Not too many new ones were done for Oblivion. Too busy with the Radiant "AI", I guess. "I saw some mudcrabs down by the water this week" "They've got sharp claws." "Yes, they do." Who the hell wrote that awesome ****? I want an autograph.

lol. ZOma wins. Needs more explosions though.

It didn't help that most of the "books" written for MW and Oblivion were total ass and went on far too long. At least item descriptions are usually short and to the point. I think I always read them completely in the IE games. I can't say the same about ES "books".

Trish? Tina? Turtle? Turpentine? I dunno. It just sounds like some made up word to me.

Gamestop Pre-Order Bonuses
Slowtrain replied to gnrfan228's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
WAit, you're saying the pre-order bonus awesomness is for console version only? Well, that would totally suck. Maybe I'll stop by tomorrow and check in on that. My PC version pre-order shouldn't count for anything less than the XBOX version. -
Of course celebrities add meaning to people's lives. Whether its Jim Morrison or JFK or MLK or John Lennon or whoever. It's just too bad for your argument that no one in this thread has claimed that celebrities are MORE important than your family friends or anyone else. Do I thnk that some people become overly-attached to and fascinated by celebrities? SUre. But that is a lot more extreme than simply acknowledging that someone you never met still had an impact on your life and you feel something whe they die. The divide between folks like MLK and JFK vs jackson and bill mayes is the size of the grand canyon. PLEASE don't tell me the impact those 2 groups had on society is one and the same. If you do I feel sorry for your life as its influenced by washed up celebs and late night pitch men which is sad in of itself. There is NO contest between the two sorry and I find it not only laughable but insulting you would drag folks like MLK and JFK into this conversation. And for the record I don't let celebs have that much impact on my life. When they die I shrug and move on unless I knew them personally or at least meet them in person. I don't see how someone having a hit song can have a impact in your life to the degree it bothers you. Unless your life is very void of meaning you need to reach out and grasp anything you can. You have a value structure for your take on himan life and other people have theirs. I'm not saying that YOU should find Billy Mays to be of the same value as JFK or MLK. I'm not saying anybody should. I'm just saying that I'm not going to judge others for how they feel about those people that had an impact on their lives. You, however, apparently have no problem doing so.

All hail bad game enjoyment! I pretty much plan to buy Dragon Age on release. I mean, why not? It's not like Boware has any great heights of total awesomness to plummet from. I'm sure the game wil be fun enough for 50 USD.

Holy crap, that dude is ALL skull.

I enjoyed Far Cry 2! There. I said it and I am not ashamed! (It could have been a LOT better, though)

Well, yeah.,Bethesda makes wretched games that deserved to be bashed. Repeatedly and with a really big hammer. (As Sargy would say, who loves ya, baby!) Guess I'm just clueless, too intellectually stunted to recognize wretchedness, because I happen to have enjoyed playing Bethesda games. So get out your bashing hammer and use it on me as well. Clearly, I deserve it. No way, Di, you are too awesome to bash. I'll just keep on bashing Bethie when the opportunity presents itself. (which isn't really in this thread, so probably not directly applicable) On a side note, I don't bash Bioware because well, I really don't care much about the company or their games. SOi it's hard for me to muster much will, either positive or ill as the case might be.

I've got no problem with people complaining about either stuff they care a lot about or about stuff that they know a lot about. Specifically, if people know a lot about something and find gross inaccuracies or logic failures in the way that particular something is done in a game, by all means they should complain. I may not agree but I usually learn something.

Not sure but part 2 failed to live up to it's predecessor and item descriptions was one of the many reasons why. No. The *$%#% Returning Frost Dart was the main reason why.

The first thing I think of is the Griswolds. :/

Deus Ex had pretty weak AI, but the game was still great. SO not worried.

the 10mm pistol was useless as well. You were better off just hitting things with a baseball bat until you got a hunting rifle, assault rifle or smg. If you played in rt that is. Maybe the 10mm was OK in VATS mode. Never used VATS so I don't know.
