I have written a review of Seal of Evil yesterday at the RPG Codex, it'll answer your questions: http://www.rpgcodex.com/content.php?id=116 It's a good game, IMO.

Here's for Day of the Tentacle!

Gamespot Rumor: Troika shutting its doors

That's an easy one. VU. They've always had it, as it never belonged to Troika even though they developed it. -
Gamespot Rumor: Troika shutting its doors

Arcanum's rules and combat system were two of the things that deterred me from playing the game beyond the DMC dungeons. It didn't help that I had too few followers, specialized in guns and had most of the monsters in that place immune to my attacks. Those dungeons really screw you over for choosing guns. edit: BMC dungeons -
Gamespot Rumor: Troika shutting its doors
Exitium replied to Gryphcon's topic in Computer and Console
Some of the fanboys at the Codex have started to become mad at me. Two people signed up just to insult me. How amusing. Right on the money. The buck stops here, folks. -
I hate to be one to break the mood, but unfortunately Bad Brain has failed to acquire Sam & Max 2. http://www.bad-brain.com/ spotted: www.bluesnews.com

Gamespot Rumor: Troika shutting its doors
Exitium replied to Gryphcon's topic in Computer and Console
Troika Dies: http://www.rpgcodex.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=6348 Troika only has themselves to blame for their demise. I'm not in the business of blaming publishers for developers' mistakes. No more free rides for Troika. If you haven't yet purchased Vampire: Bloodlines, this should dissuade you from buying it. With Troika's demise I doubt there will be any future patches (especially the much-needed performance improvements and further bug fixes) for the title. Even if Troika isn't 'dead' the entire Bloodlines team got laid off. Good luck finding a new patch. -
So what if 2 million aren't logged on at any given time? It still holds true that Bioware has far more users than these forums ever will. It certainly gave NWN2 a popularity spike. For awhile now, NWN2's been sitting in the back, behind the hype and attention of Dragon Age.

He got a job at a different company.

What the hell is up with the mention of Rebellion, kumquat? This game has got nothing to do with Rebellion. In any case this game looks like it's using the Earth3 (Earth 2160) Engine. It looks pretty good, and the original C&C developers (Brett Sperry and co) are far more innovative and 'revolutionary' than their counterparts at EA who made Generals. I'm looking forward to this one.

Meh. Forget about Blizzard. They're focusing on World of Warcraft and even though that may very well be the best MMORPG of all time, it's certainly not going to quench your thirst for a good RPG or a sequel to Diablo 2. I'd look to Flagship Studios (Bill Roper's company) and ArenaNet (the creators of Diablo 2) for games like that. ArenaNet's making Guild Wars.

The short answer is 'no'. The long answer is that I think it was a good decision on everyone's part to move the official from these relatively desolate message board to one populated by the massive majority (2+ million) of NWN's fans and Bioware customers. I don't think it was a hostile takeover. I don't think Obsidian Entertainment is dying (folks, there's such a thing as turnover). I don't think Bioware's taking over the project. It's just a sensible approach to popularize NWN2 and keep it within reach of the customers of the series. It's a good decision, all in all, though the deletion of the posts (rather than the archival thereof) on the Obsidian Entertainment forum is regrettable. It's certainly a good enough indicator of tabula rasa, however - which is certainly something NWN2 could work with.

What happened to Sargy? Oh yeah, that's right. Nobody cares.

It makes no sense.

Weiser, you should stick to posting crappy fan-art for KOTOR and writing erotic fan fiction about Bastila. It's what you do best. Just leave the design contributions to everybody else because it's clearly evident that you know nothing about good design.

1. Why would a Jedi Master trained in the use of lightwhips take his own head off? You could say the same thing about bladestaff fighters, chain+sickle fighters and ninchaku fighters, but they exist. They're very difficult weapons, but there they are. 2. Thanks for the technical advice, geek. 3. Why not? 4. Ever seen Johnny Mnemonic? It had a retracting light-whip. I don't see why it'd have to dangle all over the place. It isn't as if Jedis have their lightsabers drawn all the time, either. Your argument that 'unless the Jedi turned the saberwhip off at the end of every attack or swung it around her head all day" is laughable. Don't be moronic. 5. Huh? Whips are faster than swords, I just hope you know that. What do you think whips were invented for in the first place? The Indiana Jones movie? Whips aren't gigantic axes, you know. They're fast, dextrous weapons that are meant to whip weapons out of people's hands, hence the term 'whip'. By the way, the snide personality you seem to bestow your posts isn't at all befitting of your character, given the fact that you're nothing more than an immature geek with very little of intellectual value to offer any of us.

I believe oil is a part of the 'long term' goal. Why do you think Haliburton is setting up refineries and pipelines all over Iraq? It's also a way for Bush to make his cronies richer by subsidising their various 'efforts' in Iraq, that these "Bush-endorsed" corporations are charging 10 times more than independent American ones (Like the late Nick Berg's) and international ones (several from Japan and Australia) for providing the same services, such as telecommunications and various other infrastructure related endeavors. As it is, the independent and international companies are being denied subsidies and contracts because Bush likes to line the pockets of his already-rich buddies with war money that would be better spent on the people of Iraq, or on the actual military security, which as it is pales in comparison to the amount of money that's going into subsidies and contracts.

Nice work on the photoshop. Her eyes should be a bit closer together as well. They're about a half-inch too far and they're too wide - it makes her look like an insect of some sort. Her nose should be smaller and perkier and her jaw needs to be narrower.

Y'all need some book learnin'. It does you good!

It'd certainly be worse than the Mira model. I'll be counting my blessings if that happened.

It is clear that if 'fan art' like this continues to flood these forums, we will soon find ourselves awashed in a tide of bad art and dismal entertainment. This message is but an attempt to spare everyone from drowning.

Paper envelopes in place of jewel cases would be good. It'd rekindle every single Atari purchase I've made.

Hey, that would have been a nice comeback, if it wasn't completely irrelevent. It's comparable to having some crappy movie director become angry at the film critics who berate his movie by arguing that since they wouldn't be able to even direct a movie, they have no right to say anything. What a brilliant thing to say. No actually. It's not brilliant. In fact, it's a completely stupid thing to say because everyone has varying tastes, appeals and most importantly some degree of aesthetic sense. Why certainly some of us might not be able to direct a movie, or design a pretty model of Juhani, but that doesn't mean we can't tell the difference between what looks good and what looks downright ugly. That said, your sketches, models and so forth look downright ugly and I'm not ashamed to say that, regardless of my inability to model in 3dsmax.
