Heh, not bad, but that second comment is gold. :D

I hope so, if it doesn't and I fail this exam I'm hunting you down and beating you though. Just so you know. It's worked for all of my exams so far! Well, all except for the one that it didn't, but that doesn't count. Last minute revision has been my preferred method of study for years and while it hasn't totally screwed me over yet, it's probably cost me a few marks had I not been a lazy jerk and actually studied properly. "I've got two weeks before my exams. Plenty of time to study! I'll get some in each night before I go to bed." *two weeks later* "Crap! I haven't studied at all! Where the hell are my notes and why didn't I bring a calculator to my freaking math exam?!" *runs off to buys his 5th cheapie calculator from the uni bookstore*

I'm thinking more about that "boss cutscene" with the ex-wrestler business guy conspiracy or whatever where he's trying to throw you off the building. I don't think they even tell you when to press the button. I had to redo that one about 800 times. Weapons (even the pipe Ropeburn was using) all flash red when you are able to disarm them. It's part off the runner vision thing that is turned off on hard mode. I really like this game and have played it through maybe a dozen times since I picked it up a few months back. It's short enough that a full run can be completed in one sitting. I've only got time trials completed for the first three levels of the game. It is a very linear game, but the number of things you can do to shave those extra seconds off a run is actually pretty impressive. The first few times through a level can be a little confusing, but once you've got the route in mind, finally nailing that perfect run is quite possibly the most fun I've had with a game in the past year. EDIT: Krezack, when you start playing some time trials, gimme your name and we'll see who can outrun the other. Also, I appear to be the only person every to actually like the cutscenes.

What model did you get? I used to know someone who had a couple old coke machines that he'd fixed up and kept around his place. Unfortunately I can only vaguely remember what the machine he kept out looked like. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a round corner model and it had the little window opening along the left side of the front panel. A quick google search brings up a cavalier that looks very similar to what I remember, but I can't be sure.

As far as I know there has been no word yet on what if any DRM will be used on the PC version of Alpha Protocol. Sega has released a fair number of games on Steam, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it end up on there at some point if that is acceptable to you.

Question to the Developers about the save system.

I don't feel frustrated when I'm forced to repeat stuff I failed, I feel challenged. It's repeating stuff you already did over and over that's frustrating. Personally, repeating stuff that you've already done over and over is only frustrating when you fail to get past the easy part, usually because you stopped paying attention, or got sloppy. If you're likely to pass that easy section 95% of the time then it's really not worth getting worked up about. Having a string of difficult encounters without a check point between them is not a failure of check points themselves, but rather a failure of check point placement. What was the last check point game you played that frustrated you because you had to replay a section of the game over and over? -
That's fine, but as I said, the business models of most browsers revolve around something other than upfront fees (yet is are very solid and conspicuous business models nonetheless), which is a point I notice you've avoided. It was less about avoiding the point than it was not know how to respond to it.

It might be obvious to you, but as someone who doesn't really follow all the talk about browsers it's not something that really comes to mind and I'd argue that it's not an obvious conclusion to the vast majority of users. Software is not my area of interest. Outside of the mobile space, what browsers are there that are still paid for? Under what circumstances would you pay for a browser rather than use one of the many free alternatives? As I said, this is not something that I really think about. As a home user, I just pick up the free browsers that has the features that I want and once it's installed, I very rarely think about what I'm using or why.

You mean like the free ride Microsoft got by violating anti-trust laws for years to the detriment of competing products? You wouldn't let thief keep the stolen diamonds because because they suddenly stopped robbing banks. A mini package manager? Windows Update? You can easily download Firefox on Ubuntu without having any internet browser. It's not exactly hard to figure out. At this point in the game, what advantage does a larger market share offer to people with competing browsers?

You DID know that turning V-Sync off makes it pretty ok, right? (The game was still a borefest, though...) Turning off V-Sync did indeed solve the problem with the mouse, but at least on my system it turned on the horrible, horrible screen tearing.

Pretty much everything I have has been listed already except for Zack and Wiki. It's a fun little puzzle game, but the cartoonish appearance turns some people off the game. I'd yell at everyone for not having mentioned Metroid Prime yet, but the New Play Control version is coming out as a trilogy with all three games for $50 at the end of August. The Conduit should be out at the end of this month as well.

Is this what I think it is?

Domains grant powers at various levels and spells. Turn Undead now = Channel Energy which can be used to either heal living or harm undead.

He might be closer to 7. My guess is that the Sharks would need to throw in someone else to sweeten the pot, but it would be a good trade for both teams. Marleau is fantastic, I don't want to give him up, but he's probably losing the C and it's probably time for a change of scenery. Maybe Errhoff could be the sweetener, he also needs a change. Marleau is under contract for one more year at $6.3 million. Heatley is under contract for 4 more years at 8/8/8/6 with a cap hit of $7.5 million per year. I don't see a straight up trade working with Marleau.

As long as they stay the hell out of our garden and stop killing all of our anti-mosquito goldfish, sleeping on our outdoor furniture and making a huge nuisance of themselves. Stupid neighbour cat, haven't seen it yet this year, but there have been two others that have been wandering around the neighbourhood.

I fixed it for you.

That little white tick is like a cursor black hole. It's impossible to escape it's grip as it draws you back in. By all accounts it has more content than the first instalment, but that's hardly difficult considering how little shipped with the game to begin with. Part of that is the perception of what L4D 1 had. Did it have 20 maps, or was it 4 campaigns? I didn't think it had enough content to justify paying the full $50 retail price, so I waited till I found it for $30 and I'm happy with my purchase. I think that Valve made a mistake in talking about it so soon. The usual slow trickle of information is doing more harm than good in this instance. People are angry, or disappointed with the new game and all Valve has shown off so far are the new melee weapons and part of a new campaign. IMO, they haven't really shown anything that says "only possible in a new game" and that doesn't give me a very positive outlook on this whole thing. Others may see things differently, but this is how I perceive the whole issue.

I think I found the article you were talking about. -A silenced SMG. New sound and skin, supposedly no impact on performance. -New assault rifle that "felt tighter and more accurate". Might have been changed, might not have. -New Scoped assault rifle, semi automatic. Not sure how this is different from the current hunting rifle. -More. I'm not convinced that they've done much more than reskin the current weapons based on that preview, but I won't be able to tell for sure unless I get my hands on it, or someone manages to pull out the detailed stats. I'd be interested to see what the "and more" is referring to. Even if all they've done is reskin the current crop of weapons, that only takes us to 9 if you include the minigun and grenades, 13 once you add the frying pan, axe, baseball bat and chainsaw, 14 if you count incendiary rounds which leaves us with 6 more weapons that we haven't seen to hit that "20 new weapons!" mark.
-
Just found this: Also, 20 new weapons? Unless they've got a 16 weapons they haven't shown us, it's looking a lot closer to 4 new weapons and 16 reskinned weapons.
-
Yes. As much as I think it will be full price, your proof is a listing on the Gamestop website? Really?

The ones I bolded were ones that actually made me shake my head and laugh. This one didn't make you shake your head and laugh? It immediately made me think of this: EDIT: Bah! You edited it, but I managed to quote you first!

Part of that is after you get above 24" screens you start getting into the higher quality panels. Most 24" and smaller screens use much cheaper TN panels while above 24" you're more likely to find MVA/PVA and IPS panels.
