  1. This is with medium settings. Not too ugly, I'd say.
  2. Actually, that was the resolution I was using to begin with. Anyway, as for the settings, reducing everything to medium except for object detail, made the game almost perfectly smooth on my rig.
  3. Crysis' CPU benchmark makes my PC cry. It's all the explosions. Also, for perspective on a life of gaming:
  4. Crysis demo as well. Pretty. With everything on high things are a bit too slow, although without any actors in sight, it manages to be quite playable. I'll have to tinker with the settings to see if can improve performance without losing too much in the looks department. Edit: I just ran the GPU benchmark, and I get 10 FPS with everything on high. Considering my system and the way the game looks, I have to say the game is pretty well optimized. I wonder how much the performance would improve if I just got one of the cheaper core duos.
  5. My USB gamepad isn't detected by Windows since I got my new mobo. This seems to be a result of the combination of this specific gamepad with this specific mobo, as the gamepad works on all other computers, and all other USB devices work with this mobo. Seeing as this only seems to be a plug and play issue, I was wondering if I could do a manual installation of the device using the driver files (the inf file and whatnot) in the installation disc. I'm guessing this should be possible but, so far, my l33t googling skills have failed to find the needed information.
  6. Steve's next. After that, I guess Enoch can go again.
  7. What? Shouldn't this be in Skeeter's you silly mod?
  8. Knocked Up. Quite awesome. I love Judd Apatow. The minor characters in his movies are always nailed so perfectly. Here it was the Asian doctor, the producer(Firefly's Tudyk), and the producer's assistant. They cracked me up. Also, I want Freaks And Geeks back.
  9. Did the first Marathon ever come out for the PC?
  10. That was a brain fart right there.
  11. "errr..., Gabs says hi." ____ Schlock!
  12. I think the point was just to make the Keanu joke.
  13. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/v...per-Paper-Mario Didn't really know where to put this in C&C, so I just went ahead and put it somewhere everyone would see. Highlights: "Retarded mammoth in a Nine Inch Nails T-Shirt" Super Paper Mario is set in a bizarre Keanu Reeves themed universe where everybody is a cardboard cut-out.
  14. While float32 made the lighting a bit better, it really didn't improve my frame rates at all.
  15. I find that RAM is key for this game, in terms of getting good performance. I play it at 1280x960, with every bell and whistle on, and it runs brilliantly. For reference: 3.0Ghz, 2Gigs, 7600GT
  16. And here I was, thinking the discussion was about you not having a leg to stand on regarding this issue.
  17. Texxt isn't exactly the biggest eater of storage space. In PST it was more a question of fitting the narrative of the game and development time. Torment would be impossible to make with a total blank slate main character. At best, they could've given a gender option (scarred hawt chick FTW!), but even then that would increase the development time immensely. And anyway, most of the things that made PST great were dependent on having a defined, written character.
  18. I don't like the use of Free Religion this early, either. Even if you're playing a peaceful game(and we're not), Free Religion should be the last religious civic we use, and only after we put out as many GPs as we can with the help of Pacifism.
  19. Yay for Dodger the alliterative Dev!
