  1. If Tale ever gets to wage war in this game, I promise I'll say "Sic 'em up, lil' buddy."
  2. "Apartment" is a funny typo.
  3. Yay! If you decide to start the war, get those catapults out to the field of battle before going after Hammurabi. And remember that our military is mostly stationed near Peragus. Also, there's one axeman up north with a couple of extra exp. points, that might come in handy. I'm thinking you should take out the capital first, to cripple their unit production capability, but that city with the flood plains might also be a good first target. The bugger will start whipping like crazy, as soon as you attack, so those two cities should be taken out as quickly as possible. Don't forget to raze the two cities closer to our empire. Of course, if you feel you shouldn't attack during your 20 turns, don't.
  4. I don't know, it sounds like your average Bioware RPG, with much better and more detailed animations, plus a new combat system which is the thing that interests me the most in the game. But, even this review that is obviously filled with hype, didn't have much good to say about the combat.
  5. You don't suck at spelling. Your spelling is actually awesomely entertaining.
  6. I'll be quite amazed if those assertions about the game's story turn out to be even remotely true.
  7. Rosie? Is there something going on between you two that we don't know about?
  8. Starbuck's coffee couldn't keep a hyperactive flea awake.
  9. Propagandhi - I want you to vant me Awesome cover.
  10. So who's up next?
  11. The pseudodog isn't one of those regular dogs, but a larger one that is much rarer. One place you can find one of those is near the cave where you go to pick up an armor for the guy you saved in that first assault mission. Note that the icon for the tail in the inventory is actually quite dark, so you might not notice it's there.
  12. It's not just that there's a big prestige factor associated with the big cars. I have here a book filled with fifties American magazine ads, and one of the things the ads used as a major selling point was simply the size of the car. The bigger the better seemed to be the mantra.
  13. Ha ha! I remember that. Regarding fuel efficiency, if someone needs a bigger car, they should buy one, no problem there. What annoys me are the people who have no need for bigger cars and still drive around in the city in their big SUVs. Incidentally, if you disregard hybrids, European and Japanese car models are still more economic than American models. This seems to be mostly a cultural difference between the US and the rest of the developed world. A diesel Golf TDI, for example is a durable, and relatively fuel efficient car. It's more expensive, but its gas usage mitigates that. Check this out: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/noframes/16708.shtml http://www.dailyfueleconomytip.com/?p=186 It's just silly.
  14. I'm not so sure about that one. I'm thinking the ones who do follow the Gore mantra get more press because by and large the press wants it to be true because it fits their political agenda. By and large that is. The press of the world is not solely left leaning but the majority of it is. As far a cutting carbon emissions, thats easy, replace coal burning electric plants with Nuclear plants. Easy, and much much more enviormentally friendly. But no the envoirmentalist leftists don't want to hear that either. Science and politics make as poor a mix as religion and politics. The Gore mantra? It's not like Gore invented global warming. A long time before Gore ever picked up the issue, everybody and their mothers were already talking about it, at least here in Europe. As for carbon emissions, one thing that could also be done, would be for Americans to stop making and using cars so incredibly uneconomical, compared to European and Japanese cars. The average mpg of American cars is ridiculous and pointless.
  15. It's a fact that no one really knows for sure whether recent global warming is a consequence of human action or not. However, there are two things that seem to be true. The first is that there seem to be a lot more scientists that think human pollution is the cause of global warming than the other way around (no, I don't have any hard data to corroborate this, so don't ask for it). Second, given that no one is actually sure about it, it seems the smart thing would be to play it safe, especially, when there's other excellent reasons reduce CO2 emissions like, say, for example breathing or oil depletion. As such, this whole argument seems to be beside the point.
  16. Forgot the save game. God_Emperor_Feargus_AD_0100.zip
  17. Turn 1: Settler moved, workers working, including a chop in Irvine. Tech research at 100% for now. I've also sent the westernmost warrior to scout around Babylon. I think Hammurabi may be preparing an attack. Turn 2: Axeman killed a warrior to the north, the spy is now scouting Babylonia as suggested, and I've started a library and a chop in Peragus. Turn 3: Settler is in place. Started an axeman in CK. One axeman. (See what I did there?) Turn 4: The chops are done And we now have a view of Babylon. Take a looksee. Just two Bowman. Turn 5: The Library and the worker are done, and I am now popping axemen all across the land. In other news, Confucianism has spread to Irvine. For now I've decided to forgo conversion. Peragus is suffering from unhappiness, though. Finally, Hammurabi has founded a new city to the south of his empire. I'm going to see if can check it out. Turn 6: We are now researching Metal Casting. It will be done in 8 turns with research at 80%. I traded Currency to Zara Yaqob for Monarchy and Math. It will give our chops a nice boost, and mathematics leads to a bunch of good techs, including construction. Finally, I switched to Hereditary Rule to help Peragus and Irvine. Turn 7: The AI settled on a gold. Schmucks. Turn 10: Zara Yaqob wanted us to convert to Conf, but I told him to bugger off. Seeing as there are three Hindu civs, it just didn't seem like a good idea. Turn 11: I started a market in Peragus, to add a bit to our economy. And here's Hammurabi's army. The only units that are missing seem to be the two bowmen in Babylon. He may have built more there since then, though. Turn 12: Our spy was found! Turn 13: The library in DOOM is done, so it is now finishing off the barracks. Turn 14: Confucianism has spread in DOOM. Turn 15: Metal casting is done. Construction is next. Six turns for it to be done. Turn 16: Forges started at Irvine and CK. Turn 17: Forge begun at Peragus. Turn 18: Wang gave us Calendar and Mono. Monotheism, that is. Turn 19: We now have two cities to raze: Also, I founded Meatytown to the north. It's building a lighthouse. Turn 20: Construction is done, so I started Machinery. Whoever goes next, as soon as the forges are done, start building catapults.
  18. Good call, both Peragus and Irvine are in need of happy faces. I've already started and I'm going to send that settler to the northernmost city site. I'm thinking of not settling it just yet, as I've already raised the tech rate, and we will be in the red for a while.
  19. Let's see what I can do. I'm going to make Construction and Machinery a priority, and see if I can increase the research rate. If you disagree, go ahead and tell me.
