  1. The Jayhawks - Blue (acoustic version)
  2. I shot my baaaaby! I used to aggravate my housemates to no end by listening to Built to Spill's phenomonal 20-minute, live cover of Cortez the Killer in its entirety, loud enough to hear through the walls. Most people don't have the voice to do Neil Young justice, but those guys pulled it off.
  3. Soon birthday threads are going to be banned... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That may be, but I did notice nobody made one for that "monkey in the White House" the other day... (Hades' words, not mine " ) Although there is the possibility it was simply flamed and closed so fast I missed it. Eh, I'd vote for Ringo over GWB anyway.
  4. Well, I never played it, so I can't say if it's fitting or not. I suppose if the "Beast" gets "altered" at some time during the course of the game then it would be a fitting title.
  5. I hope Altered Beast is on there. That game name always made me think of taking Fido to the vet to get "fixed."
  6. The Beatles - This Boy The Beatles - Don't Pass Me By
  7. You don't see any Paul McCartney's All-Starr Band, now do ya? That's right. Long live Ringo!
  8. Wouldn't it be more like "Run fo-or your li-i-ives!" Type O Negative - My Girlfriend's Girlfriend
  9. Wolfmother - Woman Okay, this guy sounds waaaaay too much like Ozzy. Sorry to wreck the retro-love party, but I think the music is pretty lame too.
  10. Teenage Fanclub - He'd Be a Diamond
  11. A Winner is You! Oh man, somebody should print t-shirts. No, better, they should incorporate it into the Drug-Free America marketing plan. Maybe then it wouldn't be such a doomed effort.
  12. Morrissey. Just kidding. Rowdy Roddy Piper. Yeah, I watched it for about a year in my impressionable youth. Wouldn't do it again, although Hogan's daughter seems to be taking the path of Paris Hilton.
  13. Soundgarden - Karaoke From some B-side or another. Groovy riff, great vocals. I'm guessing it probably dates somewhere between Superunknown and Down on the Upside.
  14. Man, when I saw the Avellone spot at PA at work today, I said "I am so going to post that." But, alas, I have been beaten to the punch.
  15. Bought Starship Troopers on DVD. Man, I love that movie. I remember sneaking into it in theaters back in the day. My buddy and I bought tickets to some Grisham courtroom snoozer that was PG-13, haha.
  16. ... and the meek shall inherit the earth... Specifically, "The Temples of Syrinx." Specifically, "Outtasite (Outta mind)."
  17. Larry 7 was great! It's called Love for Sail and it takes place on a cruise ship. I thought LSL 6 was good too, although not quite up there with LSL 2, which was fantastic. The best part may be the Chinese "Spork" vendor who was raised by Irish missionaries. I didn't bother with Magna **** Laude, because Al Lowe was not involved. And if he's not writing it, it's not a true Larry game. Anyway, Wolfenstein 3D was my first game. I played the Larrys too, but my first RPG was KOTOR, ha.
  18. Big Star - Thirteen won't you tell me what you're thinkin' of would you be an outlaw for my love?
  19. Yeah, the whole CD is pretty cool, and now that I've heard it, I swear my old band was ripping off "Rudderless" in one of our songs. Very possible, because the singer/songwriter was such a Lemonheads fan he bought the Evan Dando solo album that came out about a year ago. Gnarls Barkley - Gone Daddy Gone
  20. Ah, I see keeping the same avatar since I registered has given me a primo spot in the upcoming Obsidian forum film. Good show, pixies, good show. Also, I concur that the Wals lego man is dead-on. And some of the others are quite good as well. I hope the plot will include several twists to leave the audience bewildered and confused... and the production will have a killer soundtrack.
  21. Boy, some people never learn. Good luck.
  22. Como estas, mi amigos! I picked up "It's a Shame About Ray" by the Lemonheads for one dollar at the local used CD shop. Couldn't believe my luck. Also, a friend got me a copy of that Gnarls Barkley CD. It's very, very good, and I almost fell out of my chair when I heard their cover of "Gone Daddy Gone" (Violent Femmes). Lemonheads - Allison's Starting to Happen @ KQD: Your episode with the 5-0 got me remembering that old Robin Williams stand-up bit about getting pulled over. "Quick, eat everything in the ashtray!"
  23. Dude, if you can play Primus, you're a better bass player than I. @pixies: I was actually listening to Dog in the Sand the other day. I think it's the best album with the Catholics. But now, it's ... Ted Leo and the Pharmacists - Timorous Me
