For whatever reason, when I (finally) successfully installed all the web cams, saw that edition of the paper and even got the congratulatory e-mail from Imalia, that ungrateful woman failed me on the quest. It's probably just another bug, but after basically building a stealth character to complete those specific missions, I was pretty torqued about not passing the quest.

I liked the Tiatmat song from Ash Rivers' bar the most - the others not so much. I wish there was more reason to spent time in that club, as I heard "Isolated" so much coming and going from visiting the sisters that I got sick of it. The song at the Last Round was fitting for the Anarch HQ. They were all very fitting, just not all my cup o' tea. And yes, talking about the game has caused me to start playing again as well.

Yeah, the only one of his I know is Original Pirate Material. It's pretty boss, boss. Took awhile to get used to the whole "British rapper" thing, but once I did I really started to like it. Especially the enunciation. The Replacements - Answering Machine

The Streets - Turn the Page The sea of black, the beaming heat on their faces Then a figure emerges from the wastes Eyes transfixed with a piercing gaze One hand clutching a sword raised to the sky They wonder how, they wonder why The sky turns white it all becomes clear They felt lifted from their fears They shed tears in the light After six dark years Young bold soldiers, the fire burns Cracks and smoulders

Maybe she wanted to talk about music. We do that here, occasionally. For instance, the Police. Did you know Stewart Copeland, who played drums for the Police, also had a side project with Trey Anastasio from Phish and Les Claypool of Primus. It was called Oysterhead, and I wouldn't recommend checking it out unless you're a dirty hippie or a member of Colonel Claypool's Frog Brigade or whatever he's calling it these days. That probably belonged in the useless information thread.

Every time I hear the Doors I think of a very awkward moment in my life, in which I was a naive college freshman looking to see a good rock show. My friend and I went to a bar known as "The Smiling Skull" to see a band that invoked the Doors at their best and worst. As neither of us had fake IDs, we were the only fellows in the bar not drinking - and our lack of tattoos and leather apparel only served to widen the gap between us and the rest of the bar's clientele. The Offspring - Self Esteem Ah, the sheer pathos of it!

But does that really counter all the extra fat in it? Eh, I wouldn't drink the stuff anyway. Too thick for my taste. I always feel like I'm drinking paint. Jackie's Chan's "Police Story" had an awesome stunt/action/fight sequence in a multi-leveled shopping mall. BTW that is pretty funny, taks. Reminds me of Bob Uecker in the Major League movies.

How do you figure? Hmmm... Billy Joe Armstrong was asked to be the second guitarist in Rancid, but he declined because he wanted to try to make it big with his own band (Green Day). Mohawk champion of the world Lars Frederiksen was hired as the second choice.

Ha. Figures. Their music was quite different back then, heh. Here's part of the "official" lyric transcription. Ol' big bad ass circle of power's comin' to getcha! (lots of screaming, mumbling) (spoken) Not necessarily dumb, but just uh...beautiful...beautiful... (/spoken) Soundgarden - Mood for Trouble Now that song kicks all kinds of buttocks.

I could barely run Bloodlines, but I was able to due to some creative configuring. If you're having problems running the game at a good speed I highly recommend altering the config file to turn off 3d sky effects (you won't miss it much). I also have task manager open when I start the game and while it's initially loading I quickly change Bloodlines' priority to "low." It's supposed to prevent that memory drain thing. Seems to work. Very fun game, great dialogue, and stealth kills with very large hammers or katanas never get old.

My favorite covers on that album are probably "Too Tough to Die" by Martina Topley-Bird and "Black is the Color..." Although the Dulli/Lanegan "Strange Fruit" is pretty powerful in its own way. You know, back in my Soundgarden worshipping days I actually recorded the the songs "665" and "667" from Ultramega OK onto my computer and reversed them using sound recorder (which could do that at that time, don't know for sure if it still does). What sounds like nonsense if played normally is actually really funny played backwards.

It's on She Loves You, the covers album I was talking about a few days ago. They do everybody from Mazzy Star to Fleetwood Mac to Marvin Gaye. Nazi Driver..... good pick. You hear the song they let the bass player sing on that album? "Circle of Power." Awful.

Oh boy, oh boy. I bet you'd like to hear the Twilight Singers version of "Hard Time Killing Floor." It's just Greg Dulli, Mark Lanegan and an acoustic guitar.

I leave for a weekend and you guys get into a battle over Hootie and the Blowfish. Geez. Hootie has got a bum rap for years because their ridiculous ride from college rock bar band to gazillion-selling recording artists. That first album was a great album. It was like those early Michael Jackson CDs where every song was a hit. I had it on tape back in the day, and picked it up again for $1.99 on CD a few years back. Maybe it's because they were my first "real" concert, back in '98, but I refuse to jump on the Hootie-hater bandwagon. I had their second and third albums too - they were okay, but never matched the magic of that first one. As it is, we should all remember the words of that long-dead patriot, Patrick Henry. Then he said, "Give me Tubgirl or give me death!" Annnnyway, Warren Zevon - Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner

I'm at work, and thus cannot pontificate at length on the subject (nor would I want to), but art is whatever is aestetically pleasing to me. I consider the jawdropping environments Team Ninja made for the DOA games to be art. Same with the writing and voice acting of a particularly compelling NPC. They engage my mind in thought, and entertain me. Rosjberg is right - art can be entertainment. It can also be downright difficult and unintelligible. Sometimes one kind is better than the other, sometimes not.

I don't like the "craftsman vs. artisan" debate, because I believe both painting a canvas and upholstering furniture can be considered art - if the creator is skilled and takes great care in his/her work.

I didn't read it. She's probably telling the widows their dead husbands died because they didn't support our president enough, or have enough patriotic decals on their cars. And that they should stop mourning and clean the kitchen some more. I hate Ann Coulter.
