  1. TV on the Radio - Playhouses The local college radio station played it, it's from their new CD "Return to Cookie Mountain." What a great name! I guess it's out in Europe, but won't be out in the states until September. I'm kinda mad because the guy's playlist said he was going to play a song off the new nomeansno CD, but he showed up late and only played half his set. The station archives all of its shows in mp3 format for one week, and I was going to link that bad boy for the nomeansno fans across the pond. Ah well maybe next week.
  2. Hobbies are things you spend time doing. A lot of my time is spent on maintaining relationships (mostly one, although I spend time keeping my parents in the loop as well), so I listed it - with the disclaimer that relationships are "more than just a hobby." I can see your point though. Maybe we shouldn't list relationships because they are common to everyone. Hobbies are generally more person-specific. (I just said something was generally more specific. Does that even make sense?)
  3. I'm guessing we're not talking about American football here. Funny, I still always think of football as soccer. Blame my filthy capitalist upbringing, I guess. I watch (American) college football a lot when it's in-season. Used to play high school ball, let myself get quite out of shape in my college years though.
  4. The acquisition of new music, and the subsequent listening to that music. Also: My woman (more than just a hobby, but she does occupy quite a bit of my time ), videogames, guitar, the occasional Stephen King novel and browsing the Way Off-Topic forum here.
  5. Seriously man, where do you find these bands? Was there ever a more indie band name than The Archers of Loaf? Probably, but I can't think of one. And yeah, they sound a bit like Pavement, but more accessible I think. I love the bit at the end when he's singing over the repeated bit. Oh, and Blessed Union of Souls.... Ohhhhhh, Virginia!
  6. The Archers of Loaf - Web in Front
  7. Rock N Roll Racing was SWEEEEEEEEET!
  8. Damn... seems like they run the two previous episodes before each new one on Thursday nights. I don't think I'll have any trouble catching up, then.
  9. The Byrds - It's All Over Now, Baby Blue
  10. I saw one episode of that show, the one where the superhero wannabes were running around on their mission and all but three or four of them ran right by the crying little girl. WITHOUT A SECOND GLANCE! What kind of superhero does that? Anyway, I thought it was pretty cool but I don't have a TV guide and I'm new to this "cable" business. So when exactly is the show on?
  11. The great thing about that song is just when you think he's done rocking out... he rocks out some more. Weezer - Falling for You off Pinkerton, the greatest emo album out there.
  12. Everybody point at the EMO! Don't worry, I'm not going to judge you. I'll leave that to St. Peter, and I hear he doesn't let EMOS in. Just kidding, I've only heard one or two of their songs. Didn't like 'em that much but, hey, whatever floats your boat. Pop music can be great, as long as it's not popular. IRONY!
  13. Dexy's Midnight Runners - Burn it Down What an interesting sound those guys had.
  14. Are you using any interesting mods? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not for this game, it's vanilla, with bethesda only items. (Firemoth, and a few others).. not even graphics enhancers. After I'm done with this, I'll either move to Oblivion.. or replay morrowind but with the Vampire Embrace mod. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When I play Morrowind I use a pretty cool mod. It changes the desktop shortcut so my computer boots up a different game - one that doesn't suck. Morrowind was awful.
  15. Best sports game ever. NHL Hockey for the Genesis.
  16. Hahaha.... "Danger Zone" That song is a classic. The last time I karaoked (if that's even a verb) was Cheap Trick, "I Want You to Want Me." It wasn't my choice, in fact the girl that chose it actually wanted "Surrender" but they didn't have it. Anyway, KISS - Strutter (which would be a great karaoke song in its own right) i know a thing or two about her i know she'll only make you cry-ieeeee
  17. Yes ,the light does tend to burn. Very pretty must be cold in winter though. Green in summer? Is that possible? What is Social Distortion? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is a rock and roll band from California. About Social D
  18. Wasn't Dave Lombardo kicked out of Slayer for being too drunk to do the whole "all double kickdrum, all the time" thing Slayer does? Ryan Adams - A Kiss Before I Go
  19. Hail to the King, baby! Duke had the freeze ray too, actually.
  20. It's fairly good, if I remember right. Then again I was a lot younger and a baseball fan when I read it. Also, the movie gave the book a big boost in popularity, as film versions tend to do.
  21. Well, I finally put new batteries in my digital camera. So now, I present my ridiculously awesome Social Distortion poster.
  22. Muso's post got me thinking about how great a comedian Mitch Hedberg was. "I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too."
  23. You bet. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Nature Boy I need to pick up that B-sides and rarities album. Just checked out the tracklist, and an acoustic version of "The Mercy Seat" sounds pretty cool to me. Also, my first experience with Nick Cave (besides "Red Right Hand") was hearing "Time Jesum Transeuntum Et Non Riverentum" on Songs in the Key of X, a compilation of songs featured in and inspired by the X-Files TV show. I remember thinking it was one of the saddest songs I'd ever heard. I see that song made it onto the Rarities album, which is good, because it needs to be heard by more than the four people who own Songs in the Key of X. Edit: now listening to The Lemonheads - Favorite T I think Evan Dando might be a bit of an egomaniac.
  24. You're the only one I know. Fountains of Wayne - Leave the Biker He's got his arm 'round every man's dream And crumbs in his beard from the seafood special Can't you see my world's falling apart, baby Please leave the biker, leave the biker Break his heart
  25. Between speeding tickets and large blisters, I'm thinking KQD has had a rough batch of luck.
