No achievements earned
brandysnap replied to faloow PL's question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
i killed the final boss again and still didnt get any game completion achievements. should have got the 'guardian of ehb' for completing the game with lucas, 'welcome to winners circle ' for restoring the legion and 'flawless victory' because i didnt need to be revived during the battle. but i didnt get anything at all. yeah, fixed alright. :/ -

brandysnap replied to Libed's question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)

Cut scenes lil problem
brandysnap replied to Alpha's question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
ive seen far worse, and people usually pick on bad english and grammar when the person is arguing with them. -
yes its exactly the same in the full game. textures do nothing at all, nor does AA. on either my radeon 4890, or my gtx 560 ti. one thing you could check is if the user.ini (i think its called user.ini, might be named something else) file actually reflects any changes to the texture quality size. i only looked when it was at high settings and the size was 4096. i didnt recheck at low settings. its found in documents/*username*/my games/dungeon siege 3 ^^ thats on windows 7. elsewhere probably on other os.

Steam fails to validate 1 file

a recent patch broke the game for everyone. but you should be ok now. just restart steam and wait for dungeon siege 3 to download a new patch. -

even after todays patch and the patch fix, achievements still are not working. i just replayed the final battle again and didnt get anything for it. tbh at the moment obsidian seem to be releasing patchs that dont actually do anything at all. seems quite desperate to me. -
http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?showtopic=57953 noone can play it. i dont even get the 'unavailable to play' message. my game isnt even that kind t me. it just quits out. pfft.

I just posted a topic about this lol! Who releases an update without proper testing!!??! How retarded can you get?? SIGH @ OBSIDIAN!!! I don't really think they noticed it considering they probably don't start the game with steam. you cant start it from the game folder either. i tried double-clicking the dungeon siege 3.exe and it doesnt do anything at all except a quick command prompt window appearing.

brandysnap replied to AdDugg's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion

UPDATE ISSUE ON PC!!!!

was just about to post this myself after some testing to try and get the game working same for me. doesnt work anymore all that happens when you click play on steam or try and run the dungeon siege 3.exe is a ms-dos prompt quickly appears on screen, disappears and then nothing. the executable for dungeon siege 3 doesnt look right. no icon, like a standard dos application from years ago. somethings fubared somewhere. edit - tried verifying cache. downloaded one file. didnt work. deleted dungeon siege 3.exe, steam redownloaded that file and it still doesnt work. its like the game now thinks its an ms-dos application. steam verification keeps on saying 1 file failed to validate and downloads something for a split second on my 8megabit connection. but nothings changed.

Stuck already
brandysnap replied to Lurene's question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
when in doubt where you need to go use the golden orbs whilst making sure the quest is tracked in your log. golden orbs are by default 'Up' on the d-pad for controllers. look in the help screen ingame to find out what the key is.(might be left-ctrl) or someone can say here. -
Cut scenes lil problem
brandysnap replied to Alpha's question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
ive had this a few times over the course of the game. sometimes lucas (my main character) would be standing looking directly at me and you easily notice that his mouth doesnt open when he talks because they obviously didnt animate it, not expecting anyone to ever know. maybe it depends on what angle you entered a cutscene at, or what you were doing just before it triggered. in a way it reminds me of witcher 2, which had this annoying tendency to dump you in the nearest campfire during cutscenes. lol -
CPU usage
brandysnap replied to taviow's question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
What's weird is the CPU usage spikes continue even after I've exited the game for about 2 minutes. Then everything is fine again. thats indicative of antivirus software, or anything else that intercepts process handles, gradually relinquishing their grasp. 'Resource Monitor' in windows 7 (can be accessed via the task manager - performance tab) will show you exactly what dungeon siege 3 is doing on disk, network, memory and more. when you quit out the DS3 process should terminate, and if the system is still churning away then you can identify via that program whats doing it - then get rid of it. -
i completely agree. i finished in 18 hours and the very reason i love this game is because it has a finite ending to it. i dont play mmo's because of the grind, and boss running. very very boring seeing the same things over and over.
