incompatable version ps3
brandysnap replied to FaceGoober's question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
have you updated your game? -
i created a topic about something like this before the game came out. including screen shots etc. i think the topic was called something like 'do the graphics options actually do anything' http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?showtopic=57635 anyway, my conclusion was that they dont because textures at low and high look the same, even close up. and anti aliasing on ati or nvidia (i tested both) doesnt do jack either. again with screenshots.

Just play this on a console, if at all.
brandysnap replied to fawker's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
why play it on console. ive got it maxed out at 1080p on my superior pc, but using a controller. not a big deal at all, excep to those that hate the very existence of a particular collection of plastic and metal. -
I'm stuck in Mine !
brandysnap replied to Patris's question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
as much as i sympathize i can also tell you that you should never ever, with any rpg or game that involves multiple hours of play, rely on a single save. anything can go wrong during the write process and then youve lost all your time. i learnt the hard way, and now you have aswell. -
i find it almost impossible, even with luring, to revive the AI and find that the AI often wont revive me due to getting stun locked or constantly hit whilst in the revive animation.

Only one screen even in online coop??
brandysnap replied to steini0509's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
same with online. camera is fixed to the hosts character. other players cannot run past the edges of his screen limits. yeah its badly implemented. -
Some updates re: feedback
brandysnap replied to Nathaniel Chapman's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion

Wich one do you Prefer ?
brandysnap replied to Palmtop's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
i managed to get 3 or 4 to mastery on lucas with no grinding or farming. i believe shield pummel, blade dash, heroic charge(?) and one other i cant remember now. fairly easy if you spam the skills a lot. -
Sadly, still getting memory leaks
brandysnap replied to Cyn!c's question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
id test a few other games before and after playing DS3. youve got 81 (ive only got 58 on a default win7 install) processes running, one of those could well be interfering with the system. laptops usually have extra processes, but not that many. if there were memory leaks in this game it would evident from lots of other posts, yours is the only one where the game crashes/grinds to a halt during actual prolonged gameplay. -
Xbox Bug - Free the Krug
brandysnap replied to AddziX's question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Okay, so I've tried making all decisions, bear in mind that I haven't even seen the Krug. No cutscene triggers when I ask to speak to him. Everything I do loops back to the start. Decisions do not advance the quest. my memory may be wrong. after the automaton tells you in a sarcastic way that youve got permission. try to leave the dialogue and RB/'E' on the locked doors. try them all cause i cant remember which cell it was - i think its the closest to the automaton but theres one either side of him if i recall. if that doesnt work, then youll have to reload a previous save because its a progression bug. -

nothing to be confused about dude. Obsidian thought they fixed it, but they havent fixed it at all. -
Xbox Bug - Free the Krug
brandysnap replied to AddziX's question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
you talk to automaton ask to speak to krug saying you have permission from meister. automatically krug appears in cutscene talk to krug end conversion with krug tell automaton that youve made decision decide win -
25 min so done untill the controls are fixed
brandysnap replied to Dogtoy's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
a key remapping patch is in the works. -
Dungeon Siege 1&2 was click&win combat requiring no skill or strategy. DS1 archery skill was completely overpowered, setting everyone to archery was an effective god mode. i much prefer this new combat system which requires some modicum of skill at least.

Possible DLCs discussion
brandysnap replied to Starwars's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
any DLC ill get as long as it isnt like the limited edition dlc which just added some weapons to your main characters inventory. thats boring. at least make us work for the stuff. a new game+ possibly. id love to wade through the game again just blasting my way through easy enemies or on hardcore. a survival arena mode where you can take your endgame character to and see how many waves you can plow through. maybe with checkpoint saving, new loot etc. -
^^ same here. ive got my card connected via dvi to my monitor, and via hdmi 1.4a cable to my samsung 32in tv. games with controller support i play lying on my bed infront of my tv. anything else goes on my monitor. i switch between both at will by double clicking an icon on the desktop. easy.

brandysnap replied to faloow PL's question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
havent got any achievements at all on the steam pc version. not a single one. i dont like the idea of having to replay the entire game again to get them. if a patch fixes it, for gods sake make it retroactive!! -
Dungeon Siege 3
brandysnap replied to Rhipidus's question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
i suppose you have tried restarting steam? -
Quest Bug!
brandysnap replied to frustrated!?!'s question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
you saved right before the battle? there is a save point there. i died several times to that guy so i dont think reloading because of death effects it. if its still not allowing you to RB on the cart then youll have to reload and kill the dude again.... and yes, i feel your pain because i hate that guy and his horrible fire area of effect. -
it seems to me that with the meager amoutn that an influence gain gives, coupled with the small amount of actual influence gains you can actually get in quests that its impossible to actually max any of your ai partners. and definitely impossible to max out more than 1. so what is the purpose of it, and what are the bonuses you get for actually managing to do it if it is actually possible?

Quest Bug!
brandysnap replied to frustrated!?!'s question in Dungeon Siege III: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
you tried pressing E, or RB on controller, on the mine cart at the end of the tunnel Bendu? if enemies are still around itll say something like 'now isnt the best time to do this' if enemies are dead it should load the cart up with dynamite and then you need to run away back to the save point. -
im in the glitterdelve mines, trying to seal a tunnel in the western area of the mine. im near where i should be to seal the tunnel but ive got kill a slow moving armoured Aluvian(sp?) Lieutenant the thing thats killing me as Lucas is the dude is surrounded by this large orange area of effect spell which sets anyone inside it on fire. i die in about 3 seconds as all my 900+ hp just drains away. katarina is my ai and shes utterly useless even though i would expect her ranged skills to work for him better. but most of the time she runs right inside the circle, and then has the audacity to moan about her health being low. even when she stands at a distance her attacks are useless. and lucas' limited ranged attacks are useless aswell. :/

if i recall he sounds exactly the same as the dude in Risen, either that game or Gothic 3. dont know his name though. also i think one of the guys that did 'loads' of voice acting in New Vegas is in there aswell. (i think hes called liam o'brien - his voice is so distinctive it makes me wish he wasnt used as much)
