If you're playing a mage, the only potions you'll need are Restore Magicka and Levitate (for those times you're caught offguard and can't cast it without being smacked around)

Alchemy. Magicka potions are easy to make, and with a maxed out skill in Alchemy weigh nothing.

With high levels in destruction and mysticism? Probably a lot, but not more than a character with high INT and the sign of the Autronach would have. I mean my spell (Nuke) was -50 Fire resistance, 100 Fire damage and had a max area of affect.... and I could cast it. Plus with Alchemy, you will always have more Magicka.

The weakness + affect spell combo works really well In my last game I had like 50 weakness to fire mixed with a 100 damage fireball spell... things tended to die quickly

I might, if I hadn't beta tested the game and thus already know that it sucks and nothing can save it. nothing.
