  1. Uh, I'm pretty sure the Rakatan aren't the True Sith. They were an ancient race who had an affinity to the Force and built a galactic empire. The Rakata made machines that used the Force and science, which gave them an edge against the other fledging races. The Star Forge was the pinnacle of their techological prowess but it also served to corrupt them and eventually drained them of the ability of successfully utilize the Force. Once their connection was lost, all their technology collapsed since it relied on the Rakatan connection to the Force. I'm guessing that this is the plague that swept across the Rakatan race. The slave races rose up against them and they were ultimately driven back to their homeworld where they degenerated back into primitive tribes.
  2. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before but the ability to switch characters in the K2 load and save screens seems greatly relevant to K3. Or its just an idea the Devs had to making finding games easier. hehe who knows?
  3. Force Affinity wise I'd say Vader was more powerful. But that's it. As a tactician, strategist and leader Revan is clearly superior. Vader was like a more powerful version of Malak, destroying what displeased him at no thought to the consequence. Vader's idea of strategy was to crush the opposition with superior firepower and numbers. He 'inspired' his followers with fear.
  4. I don't think anyone really knows about that. We can only speculate. My guess is if you've played LS Revan in K1, Bastila becomes a more powerful Jedi through her bond and time spent with Revan, but also becomes disillusioned from the more extreme of the Jedi principles such as being void of emotion and passion. She realizes that no one can be totally void of those human frailties and it is through facing them and accepting them that one can truly understand themselves and the Force. When Revan begins to receive more flashbacks from his past and realizes the deadly implications behind them, he gives orders to his party. At least that's what I think happened.
  5. Yes, I think so. They are both Zabrak. Except Maul had his whole face tatooed in red and black to create a more sinister visage. Actually his entire body but I don't want to think about that too much. "
  6. I just got it. 2:41 PST Feb 09. WOOOOO! Too bad I can't play yet.
  7. 1. While I do believe in evolution, I also think there was more to it than that. What 'that' might be I simply don't know. 2. The purpose of life...hmm, tough question. I believe it is to live to your fullest potential in the circumstances life throws your way. While we may all choose the path we walk, we can't know in all certainty where that path will lead. Live, adapt, flourish and contribute to those around you and humanity. 3. Same as Ans. 2 4. I don't know. I do believe humans are more than our physical shells. Maybe our spirits become one with the great flow of the universe once again. MAybe we're born again. Maybe there is a heaven or hell. Who knows? 5. It's just a wild guess 6. Modest Christians who are strong in their faith and practice their beliefs quietly and truthfully are ok by me. Fanatics who go around proclaiming God's might and try to convert everything in their path really really scare me. 7. I don't know.
  8. I'm getting mine tomorrow at my local Gamestop. They just called me up to remind me to pick it up...as if I would need reminding. Too bad I won't be able to play until the weekend
  9. I don't think I've played enough games to make a top 10 list since I missed out on the past two console generations. There are probably some gems in there that would blow me away though. Like Ninja Gaiden...I want play that game so much. But for sheer enjoyment experienced I'd say in no particular order, Soul Calibur 1 & 2 (In the arcades) Starcraft : I've played some memorable B-net games. Baldur's Gate. First game to introduce me to D&D or AD&D at the time Dark Forces 2 : Jedi Knight : The later Jedi Knight games can't compare. Planescape: Torment : This transcended a mere game in my opinion though I'm sure others strongly disagree. Super Mario 64 : I borrowed a N64 from my cousin and since I had missed the Super nintendo Mario games I was totally blown away by the new format. I played this game for hours and still play when I'm over at my cousin's house. There's just something about it. Romance of the Three Kingdoms 6-9 : You have to be Asian and have read the books to truly appreciate the history and characters in the game. Each game is basically the same with incremental improvements but something draws me back to them time and time again. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. I never was able to finish the original PoP 1&2. This game is incredible and I think the combat was much more fluid and graceful than Warrior Within. Contra 3 The Alien Wars : What you're fighting an awesome flying robot/jetplane and you have to jump from missile from missile hundreds of feet in the air to avoid its attacks? COOOL Mega Man 2 : I love this game! Especially the battle against Quickman. I always beat him with the Crashbombs instead of the Flash Beam. Takes some timing and luck. One time I beat Leafman in one single charged up hit, but I forgot how. I think I'll stop now....games just keep popping into my head. KotOR holds a special place in my hear too.
  10. Star Wars Galaxies. I paid international shipping just to get my hands on a copy and it was the most boring game I have ever played. Double Dragon 3 for the NES Double Dragon 2 was a masterpiece, so I was looking forward to getting my hands on DD3. Man they messed that one up big time. You couldn't even do the cyclone kick while moving like DD2. You had to stand still and jump. I beat it anyways. To change the subject a little, what was the hardest game you have ever played? Mine is the very first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game for the NES. Man that game is hard. I never was able to get to the end battle. All my turtles died during the last level. Has anyone beaten that game?
  11. I always thought Planescape had excellent graphics, even today. They fit the atmosphere of the game.
  12. Heh, that just might work.
  13. I thought it was on the 8th. I'll have to check out LA's site.
  14. This review brings sadness to my heart. There's such a great game at the core, but the bugs and crashes make it less than what it can truly be.
  15. So how does imagining having a heart attack keep you running? I'm curious.
  16. 126. I'm proud of myself. "
  17. I pretty much enjoy the FF series. The first FF I played was FF 7 and I found the gameplay and storyline entertaining, probably because it was something new from the CRPGS I had played until then.(BG and Fallout) Then I went back and played through FF 4,5 and 6, six being my favorite of all the FFs I've played. Probably because of the sheer amount of interesting characters you could play and Kefka...this guy is one of the most seriously wacko villains in games IMHO. Eight I enjoyed as well. It was a sappy love story with the usual FF staples but I do like sappy love stories(yes I admit it) and was happy that things worked out for everyone. Never played FF9 or FF 10. I'd probably give them a try given the chance, but I don't own a PS2. Uhhh..but for sheer enjoyment play Fallout.
  18. I actually listen that song when I run. Its a great motivating song. I picture myself as Rocky when he does that mad dash in the training montage in Rocky 2.
  19. I thought it was because Anakin falls into lava. Anakin is the better saberist, but Obi Wan can keep a cooler head and has more experience. Plus my guess is Obi Wan went totally defensive trying to bring Anakin back to the light and Anakin was offensive in his maneuvers and lost control of his head, probably somehow making a critical error that dropped him into the lava. I'm pretty sure its the lava. In the RoTJ book, Anakin has brief flashbacks about the agonizing heat of the lave as he lays dying.
  20. Damn you people! You made me install PST again! Well, actually it's installing now. Sigh. I'll try to control myself and not get lost for hours in the game. I'm secretly very happy. :D
  21. I keep thinking that 30-40 years from now, someone will suggest a remake of the Star Wars Movies. Possibly make them better. I guess its up to you Laozi.
  22. Heh. I love those series. I wonder why Fargo stopped writing them. Something about changing the artist then it stopped all together. The ones with the Korean mafia are my favorite. hehe.
  23. I want Lucas to make ep VII - IX as well, but how will that happen with all the actors that played main characters old? Maybe Lucas will do the entire movie with digital graphics, but I don't think he'll go that far...ominous music
  24. I don't anything about game development. I just like the joy of playing games. But I don't think there is a 'most difficult' part in developing a game. I suppose the designers would have to come up with a intriguing system to pull in the player, the combat system, a world interaction system, puzzles and quests that drive the story and are unique and extremely fun. Then the programmers have to find ways to actually implement these ideas using their programming skills. They would probably have to go back and forth finding the optimal code that pulls off the ideas of the designers while not putting unnecessary strain on hardware. The art department would have to give everything the unique look that fits the atmosphere of the game. I suppose this goes for the sound department as well. I don't think their jobs would be any easier. Then there's the challenge of coordinating everything going on between the departments so everything fits together. Doesn't sound easy!
  25. Yes, I am sad to say SWG was the first MMORPG I tried and it pretty much made me dislike the entire MMORPG scene. Its not so much a game than it is WORK. Just endless repetitive grinding. And you're paying to work.
