Dual wield or Double Bladed?
Dranoel replied to simply yellow's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Personally in KoTOR I always used to wield two weapons - a gay arsed light stick and one of the poisoned blades I think it was from one of the tombs on Korriban. Unfortunately KoTOR2 doesn't really have any blades comparable to a gay arsed light stick (at least I haven't found 1 yet ) so I end up with a two handed one - the decent crystals are always in short supply unless you cheat. -
Who was the better Sith Lord?
Dranoel replied to Jedi Master Revan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Malak was a wuss - wouldn't even fight Revan head on. He is also a cheating bastard cos he keeps running away to heal on the Leviathan and Star Forge and somehow manages to stun Revan during the confrontation on the Leviathan despite the fact Force Immunity was specifically activated. Kreia is just an interfering old biddy and after the [evil] confrontation in the enclave, when all the masters are already dead, she loses all credibility. Therefore Revan or Nihilis are the only real Sith Lords - and they look the part! -
Nar Shadaar first to get Mira (try to hold off a few of the alignment quests until later) then convert to the dark side and do the rest. (Side Rant: Personally I think the wookies are the worst characters in both KoTOR games and in the first one I tend to just go to Kashyyk immediately to get him taken off my hands. There is some satisfaction in killing it and the blue headed worm freak later on though I really wish you could do that immediately!) Korriban is just a pain in the arse and I have never enjoyed doing that level. Similarly Dantooine feels repetitive on subsequent play throughs.

I went into the shops last monday hoping to get it... it wasn't out so I ended up getting Devil May Cry 3. F*ck that game is hard... and trying to work out what the bosses weaknesses are is a real pain in the arse!

Personally I think his name was Trevor - hence the reason why the previous incarnation didn't want you to use it... he was too embarassed! - Game Complete in what, 5 hours or so!

Yes I think Die Caprio Die should play wickett in George Lucas' next foray into reshooting the original starwars trilogy, or else a munchkin in a remake of the Wizard of Oz!

Ironic - This guy is complaining about people complaining. For this reason I would therefore like to complain about people who complain about people complaining. Should anyone else wish to complain about people who complain about people who complain about people complaining, please post below!

Personally i think KOTOR3 should occur after the total annihilation of the Jedi and Sith in republic space including Revan and the Exile. With a chaotic backdrop of the rapid implosion of the Republic (a fact that you are unable to prevent whether you are LS or DS) you can seek to assert your own influence, carve an empire / alliance of your own and have absolutely no inclusion of the big shiny sticks which have dominated the last two games. KotOR3: Death of the Old Republic I like it!

I want to know why the hell the Czerka shuttle gets shot down as well as the Ithorian one. I don't know what the hell triggers it but you just wander into the Czerka offices and the mercs start attacking, then they attack you on the surface - WTF. Oh and what does the broken HK droid have to do with anything (the one that is is the facility!) You reactivate it then he just blows up 10 secs later!
-
If I remember correctly you just had to speak to either the Twilek or the Duros and one of them would open the door for you! The console inside was then needed to open the inner airlock door

How do you get Disciple to join your party?
Dranoel replied to Sierra 19's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
By being female! Male gets Handmaiden, female gets that wingey f*cker. The more important question should be - How do I not get disciple? -
Like I'm going to see that ****! My best tactical move in relation to visiting the cinema was to avoid paying to see StarWars Episode 1: The first of 3 crap prequels. I saw it subsequently and wished I hadn't. I have never felt any desire to see Episode 2 so I haven't. Personally I think the whole series is an overblown load of crap now. A New Hope was an impressive B-movie, Empire Strikes Back was a work of genius, Return of Jedi just took the piss (those f*cking teddy bears everywhere!) and the rest is just ****e! I only bought this game cos it was touted as a great RPG despite being in the StarWars universe. Go and watch Episode 3 with all the other Munchkins - Trust me - I won't be there!

how do u complete the redemption quest?
Dranoel replied to Belhawk's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Redemption quest - Don't fix the droid. Instead walk up to the guy (Tarn is it?) and let him see your lightsaber. He will say that he needs to warn the others. Threaten him and he will back down, kill him then HK-47 will pipe up with words to the effect of: "Statement: Master, it is times like these that I'm proud to be your loyal droid..." Quest solved! If you approach him without your saber you can talk to him normally but he doesn't really say anything of interest! -
First time through I made a meal of the fight against Kreia. I had always relied on Visas et al for healing etc and so had little support feats. I almost lost to Sion too (that cheesy bugger died very quickly but not before inflicting substantial damage each time). Second time through I had force immunity plus armour with overlays and underlays granting 30% energy immunity each. With the energy shielding power as well I took negligible damage from all except the Sith Commandos and assassins and the entire level was a walkover.

You can gain influence with T3 through one of HK-47's dialogue options. It is part of the thread where he talks about killing Jedi, being regarded as inferior by them and the satisfaction of killing them. There is a quick cut to T3 when he talks about people regarding Droids as part of the furniture. If you then say that this is wrong and they shouldn't be regarded as such it cuts to t3 again and you gain influence with him.

Was that really evil? They had it coming by demanding money you never owed them in the first place! I would have prefered an option for attacking any neutral object or person much like you could do in Baldur's Gate etc. My first target would have been... that bloody f*cking remote! Getting that thing the f*ck out the way permanently was something I truly craved!

KOTOR2: Hottest Female Character
Dranoel replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Now now - there are degrees of Sithdom. You just need to know where to stop! -
KOTOR2: Hottest Female Character
Dranoel replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Vash was the only Jedi master I wanted to meet in the game and she was the one they decided to kill off by sending her to Korriban. Honestly I would have prefered if either the 'tache (if you don't know who that is you really are stupid!), that **** (Vrook), or even Kalar, had swapped places for her! I still think that my Sith female is the best looking character though! Luxa is alright until you notice the pig teeth! -
WTF is this meant to mean? "It would be great if youc could to create Morrowind like StarWars" Oh and third and first person combat? Anyone subjected to V:TMB's 3rd and 1st person combat should shudder in horror at the thought of this. Personally I do think it is ridiculously short (took about 18hours for a fairly indepth 1st completion - got almost all quests completed but missed a lot of party dialogue!) The ending is also very weak... but my biggest gripes involve the two dimensional targeting system which often prevents you targeting the enemy you want by positioning a ****ing menu box in the way, and that F*cking Remote! I never use Bao'dur cos the thing is such a pain, always obscuring the screen when you are trying to see to manoeuvre and always getting selected for a dialogue option when you try to disarm a mine. Even worse you cannot destroy the ****ing thing intentionally or in any way vent your anger against it!

Shame on you people! You have neglected a great recent game. For all your lapses I'll list numbers 1-20 all as Rome: Total War (It probably isn't my favourite game ever but you have all omitted it so I must make up for lost ground) Incidentally Quake 1 with 16 player LAN remains the most fun I've probably had. Numbers 2 - 20 can be R:TW

Do characters get used to weapons?
Dranoel replied to Sithmasteryoungy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Only if you invest points in them. I think their "to hit" scores improve everytime they level up as well so they become more effective with all weapons not just those equipped at the time. -
Where do the "Darth" names come from?
Dranoel replied to slowpoke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Personally I think they just sit there with a dictionary highlighting all the appropriate sounding names. Next come: Darth Behemoth Darth Juggernaut and Darth Incontinence! Some of the other names are crap too: Freedon Nadd - Sounds like you are a Freedom seeking dodery old horse! -
Controlling the large cities is a pain in the arse sometimes but other than that the whole thing is a walk in the park. Great game but quite complex. I still can't tell what the prerequisites are for building Spartan Hoplites though. An Awesome temple of Nike, Advanced barracks (not sure if they are city or urban) but it also seems to depend on your location. And who is complaining about crashing bugs? It seems really stable for me! First Imperial campaign I completed was with the Gauls, then the Greek cities. I just lose interest in the Roman armies!

Where do the "Darth" names come from?
Dranoel replied to slowpoke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Personally i think you are reading far to much into it. I don't think Lucas really gave it that much thought. Visas Marr - a customs officer who screws up your application! Darth Bandon - Daft bandy legged old fool! Darth Vader - (germans do pronounce 'W' as 'V'!) daft fisherman who forgot to remove his waders (and full body waterproof suit) Incidentally nihil means nothing - hence a nihilist believes in an absence of anything after death! -
The party AI system does not work at all. It is without a doubt one of the worst systems I have ever seen. This is particularly evident on Telos when assaulting the Czerka compound. When you face the first group of mercenaries (after killing the Twilek Droid master) it is ridiculously bad. I have engaged stationary mode for all the characters, cancelled combat and engaged solo mode. I try to pull back to retreat and the other two characters, despite being miles away from the enemy begin suicidal dashes (quite independently) at different large groups of enemies. Bao dur runs up the ramp where there are mercenaries and turrets whilst Atton runs at another group of mercenaries. I try running them away back down the path they came from, change character (still in solo mode) to get one of the other retards to pull out and the one I have just moved starts running, from miles away, back into combat with the enemies. WTF is this. What is the point of having AI options if you are not going to use them. This has got to be one of the hardest encounters simply cos the AI is so ****ed up!
