Leonard Boyarsky speaks at SINFO 24
That's not a brand new IP. I would give my kidney for Alpha Protocol 2 though. I'd probably just give a lot of money for it. Probably safer for my health. Not more than $59.99 with pre-order schwag included. Perhaps doubled or more if crowdfunded.

#Deadfire Q&A Twitch Stream with Josh Sawyer and Lead Designer Bobby Null
Aarik, You guys used to post the Kickstarter updates on the announcements and news sections of the Pillars 1 forums. Are you going to eventually do the same over here? This way, the community will have a consolidated place to castigate politely discuss the items for each update.

A Reqeust for a walk toggle this Time
Leferd replied to Joral's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)My dissent was implied for the specific reasons that I wrote in my statement: And everyone relax with the Big Head slander. Leaving it in the game was a slam dunk. Thanks, Josh. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/66570-big-head-mode-is-in/?p=1473046 http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/66570-big-head-mode-is-in/?p=1474602

A Reqeust for a walk toggle this Time
Leferd replied to Joral's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Though I am assuming you are trolling, I will respond. The fact that the animation is already in just means adding a hot-key toggle. This does not take away time for anything else, and the point that at this stage of the games development is when this stuff SHOULD be done or considered. Hence the point of a game being backed and the backers making suggestions and requests as to what they would like to see in the game. So dissent with your opinion and pet issue is trolling? You're assuming it's just as easy as adding a hotkey. K. Being honest, I don't know the resources required it would take to properly implement a walk feature, but knowing what I know of the software industry and having followed RPG development for more years than I want to admit...It ain't as easy as you think it is. It would be cool to be able to walk, but it's not a game breaker, not is it a high demand or high concept feature central to gameplay. If they can get to it, great. But it's still C-level at best.

A Reqeust for a walk toggle this Time
Leferd replied to Joral's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I sincerely hope that Josh, Adam, and the producers continue to believe that a healthy majority of Eternity players are ambivalent about this issue and that it shouldn't take priority over more important programming, animation, UI Art, and QA tasks and should remain a C-level priority. PS Anyone who doesn't appreciate the awesomeness that is Big Head mode probably doesn't like the 90's and NBA games, and so therefore can't be my friend. Cuz that's my jam.

A bit more humor and silliness
Leferd replied to Aleh1811's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Really though, Durance is that crazy, smelly vagrant hobo you may feel sorry for and buy a meal -- only to have him then loudly question your and everyone else's commitment to God and make things really uncomfortable before someone has to call the cops. He's THAT guy.

A bit more humor and silliness
Leferd replied to Aleh1811's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Not surprising since Feargus was one of the primary culprits in establishing the over the top tone and going overboard with pop culture references in FO2. Then again, he doesn't really have that much influence for Deadfire's writing. Sawyer likes to keep things grounded and he didn't appreciate some of the more whimsical characters from BG. Didn't Sawyer include a big bunch of the Wild West items in FNV and write like all of the wacky stuff in Old World Blues? I know Sawyer wrote the Something Secret quest in PoE 1, which is pretty hilarious if your mind goes to that angle. Sawyer was ambivalent about the Wild Wasteland perk, but acquiesced by including it as an opt-in trait.

Which faction will you ally with first?
Leferd replied to Heijoushin's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I didn't realize that the Valians are technlogically advanced enough to have noodle making abilities. There better be an in-game linguine and kraken with white wine sauce craftable recipe.

Whats the Chance we reach all the stretchsgoals ?
Leferd replied to CaesarCzech's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The problem with this is that Obsidian had a whole pre-production period planning period as extra funds are collected to include and budget for the actual production schedule for Project Eternity. Development was three years+. Deadfire is already in full production with a target release date for March 2018. They can't keep the slacker backer window open for too long without snowballing the development cycle.

More Music?
Leferd replied to Dark_Ansem's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I prefer "town" music myself. To this day, I still think Targos - Skeleton of a Town from IWD2 is the best. A really good version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iLKjspPj_k

Stretch goal discussion!
Leferd replied to TheisEjsing's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Am I the only one who read "Fishing and sea-monsters" to mean two separate things? I think the fishing mini-game is for recipes and resting bonuses. The sea-monsters were already in game as possible encounters and this just adds more of them. Nope, you are not the only one. That is exactly how I understood it as well. Fishing for recipes etc. and more sea monsters for (random) encounters. I personally don't care about the fishing part, but I want more sea monsters So wait...the plan is for there to not have kraken tentacle recipes?

After fig campaign
Leferd replied to ericdy's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I have to disagree. These updates can certainly take some time, but maybe they should spread it out more frequently with smaller updates focusing on the different departments. One update is art related, then design, then something involving lore, then a cool technical programming feature, etc.,... This way, the community can remain engaged and excited over the course and life of the project through updates and regular interaction. Part of the reason many of the regulars on these boards stayed on over the years from the Black Isle days and Obsidian's fan group in general is so passionate was due to the engagement that different developers have partaken with us here in the forums. Crowdfunding presents a unique opportunity in that they don't have a publisher or IP-holder to tell them they can't release this info or that.
