MMOs and DAI had multiple years of actual production with hundreds of developers and hundred million dollar+ budgets. Deadfire has less than a year for the actual production with a relatively small team and a minuscule budget. *edit* which is not to say that it won't be added in a post release patch. Again, get to it when they can get to it, but its implementation shouldn't supersede more important core features and bug fixing.

I'm just glad Tim Raines finally got in the HoF.

That's not a brand new IP. I would give my kidney for Alpha Protocol 2 though. I'd probably just give a lot of money for it. Probably safer for my health. Not more than $59.99 with pre-order schwag included. Perhaps doubled or more if crowdfunded.

My dissent was implied for the specific reasons that I wrote in my statement: And everyone relax with the Big Head slander. Leaving it in the game was a slam dunk. Thanks, Josh. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/66570-big-head-mode-is-in/?p=1473046 http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/66570-big-head-mode-is-in/?p=1474602

Though I am assuming you are trolling, I will respond. The fact that the animation is already in just means adding a hot-key toggle. This does not take away time for anything else, and the point that at this stage of the games development is when this stuff SHOULD be done or considered. Hence the point of a game being backed and the backers making suggestions and requests as to what they would like to see in the game. So dissent with your opinion and pet issue is trolling? You're assuming it's just as easy as adding a hotkey. K. Being honest, I don't know the resources required it would take to properly implement a walk feature, but knowing what I know of the software industry and having followed RPG development for more years than I want to admit...It ain't as easy as you think it is. It would be cool to be able to walk, but it's not a game breaker, not is it a high demand or high concept feature central to gameplay. If they can get to it, great. But it's still C-level at best.

I sincerely hope that Josh, Adam, and the producers continue to believe that a healthy majority of Eternity players are ambivalent about this issue and that it shouldn't take priority over more important programming, animation, UI Art, and QA tasks and should remain a C-level priority. PS Anyone who doesn't appreciate the awesomeness that is Big Head mode probably doesn't like the 90's and NBA games, and so therefore can't be my friend. Cuz that's my jam.

The great Trump thread (it's gonna be tremendous)

Sear and pan-roast my generously salted rib-eye rare to medium rare and drizzle with hot butter with the rest of the pan juices. If I'm feeling especially decadent, I'll deglaze the fond with port and make a nice rich pan sauce. -
Not surprising since Feargus was one of the primary culprits in establishing the over the top tone and going overboard with pop culture references in FO2. Then again, he doesn't really have that much influence for Deadfire's writing. Sawyer likes to keep things grounded and he didn't appreciate some of the more whimsical characters from BG. Didn't Sawyer include a big bunch of the Wild West items in FNV and write like all of the wacky stuff in Old World Blues? I know Sawyer wrote the Something Secret quest in PoE 1, which is pretty hilarious if your mind goes to that angle. Sawyer was ambivalent about the Wild Wasteland perk, but acquiesced by including it as an opt-in trait.

What's five years in Orlans years? -
I must've drunk too much by the end of the Oscars. Did that happen??

The problem with this is that Obsidian had a whole pre-production period planning period as extra funds are collected to include and budget for the actual production schedule for Project Eternity. Development was three years+. Deadfire is already in full production with a target release date for March 2018. They can't keep the slacker backer window open for too long without snowballing the development cycle.

More Music?
Leferd replied to Dark_Ansem's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I prefer "town" music myself. To this day, I still think Targos - Skeleton of a Town from IWD2 is the best. A really good version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iLKjspPj_k -
RIP Sorry. Couldn't resist. RIP.

I like the calm of the Dyrford theme. Granted, it got stuck in my head after playing 25+ hours of the beta. Thanks, Justin Bell...
