  1. Yeah and those 16 home runs over the course of 450 at bats still equal to a SLG% in the low .300s. Duane Kuiper has a higher career SLG%. I'd take Kuip at DH over Bumgarner. Manute Bol once made 6 three pointers in one half. Do you still want him regularly jacking triples as part of the offensive gameplan? He of the career .210 3FG%.
  2. BWAH-HA-HA-HA!!! I'm sorry but that's ridiculous. If I was a Major League Pitcher, I'd salivate on my chances on MadBum against any Major League batsman any day of the week and twice on double-headers. Dude, you do realize Bumgarner's career numbers are .183 BA, .231 OBP, and .311 SLG? In 2016, he was slightly above those marks at .186/.231/.360. The Major League average last year was .255/.322/.417. He's a bad hitter. Period. For all the overblown garbage about his supposed prowess as a hitter, MadBum is a terrible example to use.
  3. I stand by my statement. As a hitter, his three year consecutive prime and five best peak seasons are very good, but he's always been one of the worst fielding starting shortstops in the game throughout his long career. Defensively, he's got a lousy first step and terrible range. To his credit, he's got a ++ arm and has a knack of making plays look spectacular that should have been routine in the first place. All advanced metrics and the savvy front office analysts are in agreement over his poor defense. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=826&position=SS His UZR and Def WAR are especially atrocious. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-other-half-of-the-story-about-derek-jeters-defense/ http://static.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/neyer_rob/1415713.html http://a.espncdn.com/mlb/columns/neyer_rob/1415695.html http://grantland.com/features/the-tragedy-derek-jeter-defense/
  4. I've been meaning to watch Silence at the theater but couldn't get anyone else to go with me. No real motivation to go stag either. Since I enjoyed Last Temptation of Christ and The Mission, I expect to be similarly fulfilled with Silence. That and I'm a Sengoku Jidai and Jesuit Order enthusiast. Right in my wheelhouse.
  5. Derek Jeter. Most overrated superstar in North American sports in the last 20 years.
  6. “Senator, I think what they were trying to do was drive a wedge within the Democratic Party between the Clinton group and the Sanders group, and then in our nation between Republicans and Democrats.”
  7. The Cavs have the 27th ranked defense after January 1st. Obviously, giving heavy minutes to Irving, Love, Korver, Frye, Jefferson, and JR Smith is not a exactly a defensive boon. But they can shoot just as well as the Spurs and Warriors. I'll still take them over Boston, DC, and Toronto. No one in the East can stop a motivated LeBron.
  8. As did my old high school cross-country/track & field arch-nemesis/frenemy. I grew up in a bigger house but damn...that open space, sunlight -- bringing the outside in concept. Very appealing. The idea that as soon as you walk in through the front door, you're outside in a central atrium. Eichler-Envy probably drove me to want to destroy his times. Retro Eichler.
  9. Too little cover from gunmen. A house is seldom a good choice for a "last stand". If they were after me I'd booby trap the house. Probably a chemical fuse on an interior door to a potassium nitrate device in a closet on the main wall. That way it will take the whole house down. Meanwhile I'd grab my rifle and a bug out bag and head for the back country. If you actually had to worry about that kind of thing that's the way I'd go. To be honest, that's only my more expensive, double back-up dream home. As stated earlier, I'd like an Eichler. Apparently, the first new Eichler's in over forty years are being built in Palm Springs and Vegas.
  10. Right. Blind trust. What conflicts of interest? https://www.forbes.com/sites/danalexander/2017/03/24/after-promising-not-donald-talk-business-with-father-eric-trump-says-president-give-him-financial-reports/#4f2f1569359a

  12. This thread obviously now belongs here. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/64381-keyrocks-hopefully-attractive-rodent-thread/page-1
  13. Lols. You're necroposting a mass number of topics over a decade old from a phone?
  14. Guessing I originally played VtM:B with 768mb with an ATI Radeon 9600. Maybe?
  15. Lots of necroposting lately. Atleast find some topics that I posted on. ... Street Fighter 2 and F-Zero. But SNES was clearly inferior to the Sega Genesis. Best Genesis games: NHLPA 93, NHL 94, NHL 95 Madden 94-95 FIFA 94-95 Golden Axe Nobunaga's Ambition Tony LaRussa Baseball X-Men, X-Men 2
  16. Devin Booker dropped 70 points last night. Damn.
  17. https://www.washingtonpost.com/powerpost/president-trump-called-my-cellphone-to-say-that-the-health-care-bill-was-dead/2017/03/24/8282c3f6-10ce-11e7-9b0d-d27c98455440_story.html?utm_term=.cd2b332bc280 I suppose Trump is correct to blame the Democrats for them not wanting to vote against repealing the ACA.
  18. Watching/reading Trump/Spicer/Conway trying to spin things is a spectator sport in of itself.
  19. UCLA v Kentucky tonight. Keeping an eye out for Lonzo Ball. His dad is an insufferable WWF style promoter, but the Ball kids definitely have talent.
  20. Then again, I've come across some lunatics over here as well. Which put in perspective, kinda shifts Shaq a bit more towards the rational side.
  21. lol, can't quite tell if your first sentence is sarcastic or sincere. It seems like a pretty sweet deal to me. Like 1984 & Starship Troopers, it was also incredibly amusing to read a story about the future written so far in the past. And also about so many topics that would be considered sensitive today. Ha, I'm glad we never did this in school, it might have killed the enjoyment for me! I'll check out this Amusing Ourselves to Death as well. Amusing is a good, informative read. Over thirty years old, but still applicable to current society's travails.
  22. Brian Fargo calling it a day after Wasteland 3. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-03-23-inxile-boss-brian-fargo-plans-to-retire-after-wasteland-3-ships
  23. He went to Duke and plays for the Cavaliers. Proof enough for me that Kyrie Irving is the Governor-General of Flat Earth Island.
  24. You mean 61*. *Cough*
