What's on the idiot box Part 4 (or something)
Oerwinde replied to LadyCrimson's topic in Way Off-Topic
Anthony Daniels never turns down a C3P0 role. He knows who pays the bills. Pretty sure Billy Dee Williams is in the same boat now. James Earl Jones surprises me though. They almost always use a sound alike for Vader. -

Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. Fantastic. -
If we don't hear back we'll assume you were devoured by some sort of unnatural creature of legend.

That was the best thing about my extractions, nothing but pudding, jello, and ice cream for 2 days. Apparently I'm also some sort of freak that only gets mild irritation from dry socket, while everyone else is completely debilitated by it.

I only read the Darth Bane trilogy. I enjoyed it. Most expanded universe I read was the Dark Horse comics, which were great.

Its really an example of the heroes are only as good as the villains though. Every episode that didn’t have the Inquisitor or Tarkin was meh, and the second season premiere with Vader was goddamned awesome. Ezra is the Wesley Crusher of the series too -
Thanks Bruce Of course the practice of slavery was a blight on the European countries and the Americans, no one should deny that Would it make any difference if I mentioned that certain African tribes were complicit and the Arabs were also very active in the slave trade? Arabs were active in the slave trade until they got conquered by Britain and they outlawed it.

And therein lies the problems. Publishers and developers wind up shoehorning in token characters just so that the whackos shut the **** up or as a way to show off how "progressive" they are for some kind of hipster brownie points (*cough* BioWare *cough*), rather than writing characters that fit the story they are trying to tell. Tokenism can aslo be a result of bad writing too. For example, Anders felt like a token Gay, but Dorian didn't. Crem felt like a token character as well, mostly because everything around him/her was based on trying to make the player feel bad if they didn't immediately accept them and not ask questions.

I'm down with that. This guy was awesome

The last FF game I liked was X, but IX was the last really good one.

I was a big fan. I heard nothing but bad about it, but I really enjoyed it. Looking up the endings, there really isn't any "happy" endings either. I really liked Alester until his revelation.

Really though, what do you expect from womens studies and multiculturalism focused courses. Only hardcore SJ types are going to be teaching or attending these classes unless they are required.

I don't remember which one added like 1000 extra provinces, I had been playing an Aztec game at that point. Controlled the southern US to northern S. America and had colonized Australia and the Philipines. Patch came out, added like 50 new provinces in my area and it looked like this: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=509581615 I cheat if you're wondering how I got the Aztecs that big by 1736. Anyway, Loading the game and it added the neighbouring new provinces to my empire, but none of them had been developed at all. I want to give it another go with El Dorado, or maybe a custom Central American country. Mostly been playing Ireland with the Beyond the Pale mod (Adds like 6 new cultures to the British Isles, a unique government type for Irish culture, a bunch of events and such. Basically makes playing Ireland super fun) and Elysium with the Third Odyssey mod(Byzantines flee the Turks and establish a new nation in Virginia, completely implausible, but fun).

Power has been out since noon yesterday. Windstorm left like half a million people without power in BC yesterday, still almost a quarter million without now. Had to go to a restaurant for breakfast and to charge my phone. Wind wiped out my small crop of 6 cornstalks too.

I think having two of the biggest kickstarter successes plus the double fine guys who are regarded as a success is enough to bring people on board. Harebrained Scjemes would have been better to bring on IMO

I don't like It's Always Sunny in Philedelphia, I do like Seinfeld, and the character of Dr. Cox alone in Scrubs encapsulates everything that was great about Seinfeld and improves on it. I don't see how you can like Seinfeld and not like Scrubs. I hated Seinfeld when I was a kid though. I think you have to hate people before you can like Seinfeld, because it's escapist fantasy about being a horrible person. I certainly would never want to spend any length of time with the people who created it. Makes me wonder how long a show like Seinfeld would survive today. Probably one episode and then it would be deemed problematic and cancelled. They don't like Scrubs because they're bastard coated bastards with bastard filling

Agreed. If you look back to the articles that came out early in the controversy, the ones Gamergate was a fan of mentioned both the harassment of Zoe Quinn, and the backlash against crappy video game coverage, because they were both aspects of Gamergate and deserving of reporting. As more and more left out the criticism of Game journalism the more damage it caused, both by radicalising more gamergate supporters by making them feel like they weren't being heard, and creating hostility against a lot of reasonable people by libeling them. You can look at the damage done by one sided reporting by looking at the Gamergate wikipedia article, where articles on ISIS and the KKK are more neutral.

It bugs me that GG still gets blamed for the bomb threat against Sarkeesian's speech, after the GG harassment patrol tracked down who did it and forwarded the evidence to Sarkeesian, and she didn't even pass it on to the FBI

Smallville dragged on too long, although had it not we wouldn't have gotten Erica Durance's Lois Lane, which was my favorite so far. Lois and Clark was 90s cheese at its finest, and while John Shea didn't look the part, his Lex Luthor was fantastic. Had John Shea looked like Michael Rosenbaum we would have had the perfect Lex Luthor.
-
My biggest issue with MoS was Jonathan Kent. No wonder Clark grew up so broody. And sacrificing himself for a dog, when Clark could have easily done it and survived without outing himself.

Oh boy... More Batman.

Dlc and expansions aren't separate library items, they show up in the DLC list of the required game.

Even George RR Martin criticized the No Award strategy because many in the puppies slate were valid nominees based on their work and he's firmly in the SJW camp, he's just not an ****. Quote from him from a while back "They started this whole thing by saying the Hugo Awards were rigged to exclude them. That is completely untrue, as I believe I demonstrated conclusively in my last post. So what is happening now? The people on MY SIDE, the trufans and SMOFs and good guys, are having an endless circle jerk trying to come up with a foolproof way to RIG THE HUGOS AND EXCLUDE THEM. God DAMN, people. You are proving them right." He also talked about how voting no award just because a deserving nominee was nominated by the puppies is akin to McCarthyist guilt by association, which is exactly how SJWs operate.
