  1. Just saw it on the news. I was walking by the living room when my dad says: A bomb exploded in Boston, two dead, about 20 injured. Messed up stuff going on in this world.
  2. They expect too much all the time lately. Dungeon Siege III, Deus Ex:HR, Sleeping Dogs, Hitman, Tomb Raider. They expect crazy numbers when the games actually do relatively fine. About the HD versions. FFX HD won't get any new content for EU gamers. We got everything the Japanese got. X-2 HD will have more content but I heard it isn't something to cheer about. @Keyrock: I want more Final Fantasy games. I just don't want them to do like they did with the XIII games. Type-0 was good from what I played. (Bad camera, but I enjoyed everything else despite not knowing Japanese.) FFVII Crisis Core was good despite feeling like a cash grab. I haven't played any of the Dissidia games, but I've mostly heard good things. FFXIV, FFXIII-XIII-2 and Lightning Returns is what bothers me. A Final Fantasy with no involvement from Toriyama is all I want. They have Ito that worked on all of my favorite FF games. get him involved to beging with and go from there. I wouldn't mind if they put focus on other series either. They have Drakengard 3 in development. (Looks really, really bad.) I'd like to see a new good Mana game or a SaGa game or a sequel to The Last Remnant.
  3. Tales of Graces f is great in every gameplay aspect. Battles, the handling of items; upgrade or morph items into better ones, or upgrade and then morph into new items. The title system is also addicting. You gain titles by doing diffrent things in combat or other non-combat related things. Seeing your character getting better stats as he/she 5 stars them made me go into combat more than I needed. Fire Emblem on 3DS is soon coming out here. I have it pre-ordered, can't wait 'till I get to play. I'm going to buy Devil Survivor 1 & 2 once Ghostlight have a patch for the Euro version of DS1:O. I had both pre-ordered but cancelled when I read about the bugs.
  4. Maybe if they would be producing more in-house games for consoles, they would be even deeper in red numbers, because of development costs... Their most successful game this generation was Dragon Quest IX for Nintendo DS... And IMO that is one of the reasons, why they shifted more towards handhelds instead of big inhouse AAA... Dragon Quest games are "part of the Enix side". They have always been developed by outside studios, not by Enix themselves. They might make some easy money on the FFX/X-2 HD remakes. KH 1.5 HD will probably also do decent numbers for a HD port. Hopefully, we get Bravely Default over here. It'll probably not sell that great, but might help spread some good word of mouth. We'll see what they will be showing at E3. Hashimoto did tease a new Final Fantasy. Hopefully FF Versus XIII or FFXV.
  5. I've made money on that! Company is expected to lose lots of money. Stock brokers says otherwise, I put some money in and make a profit. I've lost some, but I'm doing fine overall. Otherwise, I would never have pledged what I pledged for Eternity. (lol)
  6. The Sons of Torment Mad Tormentors That Tormentor's Show The Big Tormentor Theory Fresh Tormentor in Bel-Air
  7. I buy and sell a lot of stocks. It doesn't matter if you make a 100 million profit if you were expected to make a 200 million profit. Simply put, the stock market and expectations go hand-in-hand.
  8. Wada stepping down should have happened a few years ago. Final Fantasy XIV was a disaster. FFXIII sold well, but it was criticized by a lot of people. The sequel tried to fix things but from what I hear, it's a mind**** storywise. Plus, you play as one of the most annoying characters in the series. Final Fantasy Type-0 also took a long, long time to get a release. So long, in fact, that a Western release was not deemed worthy because the PSP is basically dead over here. Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still not out on the market 7(8?) years after being revealed. Then we have Dragon Quest X Online. I don't know how well it is doing, but I doubt it is doing as well as S-E hoped for. Their focus on the mobile market is also something I don't understand. Sure, it is a big market, but it isn't going to be the market that keeps your company floating when your company name is Square Enix. Their push for buying Western studios is a good thing, I think. Tomb Raider, Hitman, Deus EX, Thief and whatever else they have the rights for. Sleeping Dogs could become an interesting series if they choose to continue partnership with UGF. They also have had a low output of console games directly developed in-house. The Last Remnant, FFXIII and FFXIII-2 are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Compare that to their portable game portfolia for the last 7 years and you can see a baffling difference.
  9. Torment of Duty: Torment Warfare
  10. I'm 25-40. I'm closer to 25 than 40. The kids I work with make me feel old everyday. "You're getting gray hair, what the hell, you're old dude!"
  11. Playing Guacamelee! Ridiculous and fun. It's metroidvania type of game set in a Mexican setting. I'm not Mexican, but I think they have managed to capture a great atmosphere with this game. You play a luchador that has to help stop an evil sun of gun from completing his evil plan during dia de los muertos. I've gotten some new skills that allows me to go back for treasures I couldn't reach before. Reaching some of them is really tricky, but it feels great when you can finally grab them. The fighting isn't anything special at first, later on however, you can buy some new skills and use combos. I think my highest so far is a 117 hit combo. You can also play with a friend in co-op. I'll try that after I beat the game on my own, maybe I'll do it on the hard difficulty you unlock after beating the game.
  12. Some studios can make good games with very good graphics from a technical perspective. Thanks to talented people at these studios, costs can be kept at an acceptable level. Some studios have to put more effort and money into their graphics department. Costs will rise and maybe hurt gameplay, but most importantly, it may hurt the studio itself if costs get to high. So, going for the best graphics might hurt some studios, but I say that it is up to each and every studio to weigh the risks and rewards. Make a high budget game with awesome graphics that sells like hotcakes and gives you funds for your next project. Or make a great looking game that doesn't sell and then make you go bankrupt.
  13. Call of Duty: Blood War
  14. More Divinity 2. I feel stupid for not upgrading my dragon skills and equipping items in dragon form. I have a much easier time as a flying terror of death now.
  15. I'd like them to create their own universe like they did with Project Eternity. If possible, start from an early time period, before mankind and other current races of that specific universe existed. If there are gods in the game universe, start with how their existence came to be and tell their stories. Follow up on that with how the different races of the world came into existence. From there on out, every game is about different conflicts and adventures, with the difference that with each game several years have passed. (100, maybe?) Just think about it. Game 1: About the Gods, you play as one or several gods that help or betray eachother. Game 2: You play as a race from when they first started to exsist. This wouldn't have to be like the caveman period, but still primitive. Building communities and learning to handle magic. Then they keep on like this until we reach more advanced times, until we reach crazy sci-fi world that lets us explore other worlds. Universe entirely created from scratch by Obsidian.
  16. Did a dungeon or two in Darksiders 2. Went back to Storm of Zehir again. Having trouble with the Firemewts or whatever they're called so I'm going to try and gain another level to see if it helps.
  17. Called in sick because I have a nasty cold and a sore throat. I just took a look outside and all I see is snow, snow and more snow. Why is it snowing in April? Why?
  18. That looks really good and my excitement levels are rising even more.
  19. Zeboyd have their own engine if I'm not completely mistaken.
  20. Was excited until they said Rocksteady has no involvement. I will keep an eye out on the portable game. The metroid Prime Trilogy was good.
  21. It is true the Torment name helped them getting more funds. I just try not to look into it too much. I don't like it on a personal level, but I'm glad it made them enough money to add some interesting stretch goals.
  22. I do think Eternity can amaze me too, that's why I put an insane amount of money (for me) in that Project. If Tides of Numenera was made by Obsidian, I would have doubled the pledge I have in it. My Torment pledge isn't even close to my Eternity pledge. What I thought was interesting with the two pitches is that the Eternity pitch is more general: Spiritual successor to IE games while the Tides of Numenera is more specific. It makes it a bit more clear what Tides of Numenera wants to achieve. When I read that Project Etetnity was an IE inspired game, I was so happy. Then I started to think: Will it be like Baldur's Gate (my guess), Torment or Icewind Dale? Or will it combine all that is best from each game and combine them into one awesome soup of rpg greatness?
  23. Actually bothered to finish 3-4 quests in Divinity 2. Starting to feel a bit overpowered right now. Currently at level 28. I've taken a few skills in magic but mostly just boosting passive skills that helps me in melee combat. Let me just add that I like the music very much.
  24. I've enjoyed their updates but then again, they've had a lot more to show off since the game has been in development for some time.
