Double Fine's Adventure game is called Broken Age. Was announced at PAX East. Sorry if old.

I'd be okay with an easter egg or something like that, but nothing more.

I do agree that tech is inferior, but you can complete the game with a tech focused character too. I'd kill for a new Arcanum style game. Make tech as viable as magic and develop the game around turn-based combat and make companions interesting. There are only a few interesting ones in Arcanum. Fix that, and I'd probably have my dream game.

The funny thing is that I'm currently playing it and I'm not really using magic at all. I'm melee combat focused and have a lot of charisma + persuasion to be able to have as many companions as possible. Most enemies die before I even know what hit them. I like: -Fate Points -Backstories -Character customization -Being able to have so many companions (Unfortunately many of them don't add much to the story) -The waypoint system you can use when you are not on the world map.

Steam
Labadal replied to One-Eye Jack's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'll take GOG.com's DRM free copy + backing up my saves via Dropbox over STEAM any day of the week. -
Played Mass Effect 3 for around 5 hours today. This is really a mixed bag. Some things, I am really enjoying, but then something comes up and I just want to . There's actually some good writing in there, but you have to search hard to find it. The whole EDI thing is hilarious to me. The enemy with a sword slicing up my shuttle in the Citadel was also a bit lolworthy. I do however admit that those enemies are fun to fight. I do enjoy the battles with decent enemy vareity, but I haven't liked it when there is a turret section or I have to defend someone doing something. Lots of brown enviroments wich gets a little boring. The story is mostly bad, with some parts being okay, I guess. I do like this game more than Dragon Age II, but that doesn't say much. Of the companions, Garrus is the only one I really like anymore. I only bring Garrus and Liara with me. I can't stand the others. What else? The scanning is back, wich it shouldn't be. I'm also not a big fan of the reapers chasing you after a few scans. Feels like a chore to have to come back for war assets. I have so much to say about the game but don't actually know how to say it. I want BioWare to be successful and I want to enjoy their games based on their history, but they don't appeal to me as much as they used to. I've enjoyed many of their games, but with Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age II, it isn't so easy to be excited anymore. The only reason I'm playing Mass Effect 3 is because it was free on PlayStation+. I wouldn't have bought it otherwise. I'm not sure I'll get Dragon Age III either. They need to step up their game from DAII if I'm ever getting the sequel. Reading this post makes it clear that I'm rambling, but that happens when you grow old.

I'm enjoying your updates about Arcanum. I have never played the game but it sounds fun. How long with all the side quests do you think the game will take a person to complete? It'll probably take me 60 hours or more to do everything. The game can be completed much faster, but I intend to complete every single quest in my journal and follow every single rumor in my journal. I must say that despite having played the game 3 or 4 times before this, I have never actually beaten it before and I have never played the events after Quintarra. So most things from now on are new to me too.

During my playthrough of Arcanum of Steamworks and Magick Obscura, I came to think about Project Eternity. I guess this will hapeen with most of these party based games until PE actually releases. Anyway, I got myself into an awkward situation. I needed to steal an item but my pick pocket attempts were failing over and over again. I was about to forget about the quest, but then I remembered that I had some Fate Points I could use. I hadn't been thinking about them, because I was only going to use them if I somehow managed to get stuck in the main story. So I used one and it solved my problem. I've used it to solve one quest out of 50ish. part of me feels like I was cheating, but the other part feels relieved that the quest finally got completed. So what do you guys think? Should there be a system like his in Project Eternity? it would be completely optional and the player wouldn't have to use it if he/she didn't want to. What I mean by Fate Points for those that haven't played Arcanum.

I don't wish for them to ditch big budget games. I just hope they can do these smaller budget games while also working on their bigger projects.

The police over here has a weapons amnesty day or whatever the hell it is called. Gave them my AK-47.

Not like he can do anything about it.

More Arcanum. Doing stuff in Caladon, including going on a grand theft item spree for the thieves underground. I also wrapped up a crapton of unfinished quests. Thinking about kicking some party members for a couple of new ones. The thing is that Sogg was so helpful in the beginning that it feels wrong to kick him out even if he has no dialog, Sometimes I just the game on and raise the volume while I go eat just to listen to the music. I actually use the soundtrack to help me sleep some days. Can't get enough of it after all these years.

Susan Wilson's Kickstarter discussion (split topic)

That was the point I was trying to make, lol. I completely agree with everything you said about this project. -
Susan Wilson's Kickstarter discussion (split topic)

They had another kickstarter for something else that failed. They asked for $20.000 for that one. -
The game is all about the writing and the characters, imo. The VA's did a great job in this, too. Have you installed the unofficial patch? It helps a lot.

Mass Effect 3 Save the students at an academy. Using Garrus and Liara as my squad mates, and I'll probably keep doing so for the rest of the game. Can't really dislike Garrus. The gameplay isn't bad, slightly better than the second and it feels like a little bit more varied in the enemy department. Writing isn't as good as ME1 but slightly better than ME2. One thing I did shake my head at was the new companion.

Might & Magic X Teased by Ubisoft, To Be Revealed at PAX East

Doubt Obsidian will have anything to do with this. -
Arcanum and mass Effect 3. Doing stuff in Quintarra in Arcanum. Also doing some side quests that I have left unfinished for some time. In Mass Effect 3, I meet everyone's favourite Turian. He'll be with me as much as possible.

If you want to play the better game, buy neverwinter Nights 2 + the expansions. I believe they can be bought on gog.com.

Saw it on STEAM's Greenlight some time ago. Won't back, though I will keep myself updated.

I got a call like this for the first time in my life last week. At first, I was like"wtf?", then I got angry, by the end of the call, I wasn't far from bursting into laughter. Told them to never call again or I'd have their number tracked. It would be fun if it was a real Microsoft dude calling, lol.

I'm glad so many good writers are on board. I just hope they can somehow unite their visions into something great.

How much funding do you think Torment: ToN will raise
Labadal replied to Arcoss's topic in Computer and Console
I'd say about $5mil is not out of reach. Maybe I'm being a bit optimistic. -
We were playing soccer in the cold. I think it was -8 or maybe even colder. Everything was going fine until I slipped and and fell. It was not a beautiful landing. It didn't feel so bad then and there, so I kept playing and didn't think about it. 30 minutes later? Excruciating pain. Rubbed in my shoulder and arm with Vix and Voltaren gel. On top of that, I took some painkillers. It doesn't feel as bad as before wich is good, but working tomorrow will be a pain. My stubborness means I won't see a doctor.
