  1. Some MMOs do it like that, I think. Microtransactions et al.
  2. EA already did it with one of the Need For Speeds. You could unlock cars/tracks/whatnot by paying for them with in-game money or real money.
  3. Ars Technica has an article about MW2 as well.
  4. There will always be crazy Eastern European or Indie developers who keep making weird and buggy games.
  5. I have seen people do it. It's doable. Of course it is. I just have no desire to. I only hope by the time PC gaming really does die (if it's going that way) there will be some better way to play fps other than a gamepad. It has been "dying" since the mid 90s. Check out this thread for more pc gaming awesomeness.

  7. It's really sad that Eidos canceled Carmageddon 3 some time ago
  8. My main problem is that Valve has limited resources and I'd like more new innovative games like Portal was and each of the HL2 episodes does something new as well in addition to the storyline. It will be all downhill if they decide to sit on a cashcow and crap out sequels every year. I'm certainly not suggesting that it's the case at the moment, but releasing L4D2 after a year and still working on EP3 is kind of worrying. Yeah... Because Valve is incapable of making bad games. I'm sure you'd agree that their track record is pretty good at this point. It's only "horrible" if you thought that L4D was horrible.
  9. Well, I just want them to get on with Episode 3 and Portal 2. There is only so much you can do with the L4D formula, I really don't want to see L4D5 with a few new areas and a new cast of lame characters.
  10. Yes, Gratuitous Space Battles is indeed a video game. It's an indie strategy game where you don't directly control your units, but give them tactics beforehand and then watch it play out. There's tons of customization, muliplayer and whatnot for all you strategy nerds. Check out the demo.
  11. Obviously it's not "horrible" it's a Valve game and probably no worse than the original. I think everyone is still pissed about the quick release and it being basically extra content instead of a whole new game. Everyone whined about L4D as well, but not too much, because they expected Valve to follow up with lots of new stuff and fixes instead of a new game.

Yeah, a 2-hour premiere would have been much better. Still there's only a couple watchable sci-fi shows as it is.
  13. It's not as easy as you think, sometimes you're all over the place
  14. I don't know what you're talking about. How about playing games that are good and new, but don't require upgrading? The consoles are keeping the required specs pretty low as it is.
  15. From the Giantbomb quicklook I'd say that the whole daylight thing isn't really working and the new characters seem somewhat unnecessary. I haven't played more than the demo of L4D 1, so I'm just guessing here.
  16. I wonder if they finally fixed the blurry lights bug with ATi cards, that was really annoying.
  17. You have to consider what you're getting for that. Would you pay someone to just take 20h of your life away with a vague promise that he might take some more later?
  18. So how did it compare to Beyond Good And Evil? Was I right in that they have nothing in common?
  19. I guess, I should have expected nothing less from you. Well, good luck!
  20. Faboys beware? Of you out-fanboying them? Are you really so vain that you need your very own DA thread?
  21. Sometimes I feel like I don't know you at all, Oner.
