  1. It's both. And to clarify, you seemed under the impression that you just stick the Ubuntu disc in and everything will magically work. It's not super complicated, but it will require some fiddling in the beginning. If I misunderstood you then I'm sorry. Also, watch out for this:
  2. Speaking of reviews, I think that GameBanshee is the only place left that writes decent and comprehensive WRPG reviews. They're like NMA for WRPGs in general, but without the elitism
  3. Ah yes the inevitable period just before/after release when expectations drop like stones and people will be like "it's not THAT bad". Happened with Bioshock as well. (not directed at you, Tigranes, just people in general) It's better to keep you expectations under control from the beginning.
  4. You seem really angry for some reason. I'd mess around with linux again, but I don't have an extra computer at the moment. Getting Xandros off my EEE PC 1000H and installing XP was fun enough for at least a year. You'd think laptop were harder to almost brick than other stuff... I don't have anything against Linux, but the "Window$ is teh suck" crowd is just as annoying as the Mac crowd and the "OMGZ linux is unpossible" crowd. They all have their pluses and minuses.
  5. The problem is that the review reads like a 6 (with that quote trying to exemplify the fact) and the game scores an 8. Read the review. It doesn't sound very appealing. Heavy handed dialogue, slow pace, bloated, loading times everywhere (which is only bad if a game is trying to be non-linear), clich
  6. We already have a funny videos thread.
  7. Try the alien ship level, that's pretty indoor.
  8. So any news on the Half-Naked Plant Lady, Maria?
  9. I'm not trying to impress anyone, just stating the facts, at least in America. Call it what you want, but specific terms have specific meanings.
  10. Let's hope that McGee still has what it takes. His last games like Bad Day LA and Grim were pretty abysmal.
  11. How about a manly group hug then?
  12. Yes, but that would be theft, not copyright infringement. Hey, look, someone made an infographic on this very subject.
  13. I really don't want to get into this, but the difference between theft and copyright infringement is that theft deprives someone of the stolen goods while copyright infringement doesn't. Before you jump to any conclusions, I'm not defending anything, just pointing out the factual difference. It doesn't make copyright infringement any better, just different.
  14. Too bad the movie adoption with Sarah Michelle Gellar seems to be pretty much dead
  15. It's not theft, it's copyright infringement.
  16. There goes the thread. Bail out!
  17. Easy there, big guy, 2011 is still pretty far away.
  18. What I'm saying is that instead of having a long and fruitless off-topic flame war, do something about it or ignore it. So any impressions from anyone? Volo?
  19. Teaser trailer is out now.
  20. Oh no, you got me now. We don't need to turn this thread into another piracy "debate"(read: flamewar). If you think someone is advocating piracy, report them, as simple as that.
  21. Oh, you can also run DOSbox on Linux. The possibilities are endless...
  22. I don't think anyone is actually doing that. The anti-piracy squad is on a hair trigger, as usual.
  23. If anyone wants a JRPG-style combat done well, check out Penny Arcade Adventures or Barkley Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden(free!). Traditional JRPG combat can go back to the hell it came from.
  24. Well, good luck then! Be sure to have an extra computer handy to get help online in case you delete the partition table or accidentally format something.
