I was one those who absolutely believed that Russia would defeat Ukraine within a month, I wasn't being cynical or dismissive towards Ukraine but Russia spends $50 billion on its military a year compared to the $5 billion that Ukraine spends and Russia has been involved in numerous wars since Putin came to power and that generally improves and refines any military because countries learn through combat experience like the US since 9/11 Here is an old link from 25 February, read this to see the global sentiment towards this conflict and then compare that to the reality 2 months later. The Ukrainians have really exceeded most peoples expectations and seriously changed the perception of the effectiveness of the Russian army https://edition.cnn.com/2022/02/25/europe/russia-ukraine-military-comparison-intl/index.html

I cant say I know anything about it but it looks very promising

Sure, Trump definitely spread fake news and misinformation at times But not even close to what we seeing from Russia, Trumps "alternative facts " were not about a war special military operation and used to justify the invasion. He focused more on hyperbole that was aimed at his base and not the global community and comments at the UN and UNSC

You can definitely tell that video was made by someone with serious issues towards Madeleine Albright, Capitalism and the US You notice the sarcasm and condescending comments about gender equality and LGBT rights.." 5 mandatory pride parades every single day " ( parts of the video were funny with how he exaggerates and mischaracterizes certain events in history ) But she was a great and iconic statesmen so thanks for this video RIP Madeleine Albright

Can you guys think of one country since the end of the Cold War that has constantly and unashamedly been guilty of the level of misinformation that we are seeing from Russia. I use to think China was the worst with fake news but Russia has surpassed China now since the Ukraine invasion " the US is building biological labs in Mongolia " And the funniest part is people believing it and repeating it. At least we not seeing that much on this forum anymore, the last time was people cheerleading the invasion because of the " denazification " of Ukraine

https://news.yahoo.com/happens-next-elon-musk-bid-213320491.html Musk has made a very reasonable offer to buy Twitter and even though the current board seems to be opposed its ultimately up to shareholders to decide. I think its a good deal considering the value of Twitter, to quote from the link "Twitter’s market valuation this week is around $36 billion, and Musk is offering to pay $7 billion more than that. His bid amounts to roughly $54.20 per share—that’s 54% higher than Twitter’s share price the day before he began investing in Twitter and a 38% premium over the stock’s value the day before his investment was made public earlier this month" I would agree to this offer if I was Twitter shareholder?

The sinking of the Moskva represents symbolically the entire Russian military campaign Putins War has shown us the true nature of the Russian army. The Russians are excellent at bombing cities to the ground from miles away using missiles and killing thousands of civilians , mass rape and executing unarmed people But normal combat strategy and adhering to the Geneva Convention they are terrible as they lack the training and discipline

Do you think its funny? Why do you think "blonde hair, blue-eyes beauties " will not be sent to Rwanda. I always appreciate your deep insights Yes, its a deterrence to stop human smuggling and people arriving illegally in the UK but only if you think living in Rwanda is a bad option Many countries face a crisis around illegal immigration including SA. The article mentions 1000 people a day could arrive illegally in the UK. What would you suggest as the best method to stop or address this flood of illegal immigrants? Most of the world if you look at Africa and the ME uses refugee camps and detention centers. Would this is be a better permanent solution in the UK as opposed to a new life in Rwanda?

Their is nothing wrong with Rwanda, its a very stable and well run country Malc you guys have got to stop thinking that the whole of Africa is some big failed state. Yes their are failed states and some benighted countries but also some progressive and well run countries. They may not be first world but you can live their and have a future. I could live in at least 10-12 African countries and Rwanda is one of them

You right but their is a massive difference between the futures of the Syrian people and the Ukrainian people The West "pulled out " of supporting the Syrian people because Western intervention was vetoed by Russia and China when the Syrian civil war started in 2011. In other words the West will fund and assist its own allies or if it is the cause of a conflict Russia and Iran are now responsible to rebuild and fix the broken mess that is Syria, because they openly supported Assad, and since neither of those countries has the resources, inclination or experience at rebuilding a failed state its unlikely Syria will ever become economically stable in the next 30 years or so The West is deeply connected to Ukraine for numerous reasons and its highly unlikely they will abandon the rebuild process once Putins War is over I know its not ideal but we just have to be patient, most of the Ukrainian refugees will return home and they wont be an economic burden forever

But guys I dont understand this strange criticism similar to " as long as they dont come in millions " or " how much the west cares when the subject of money to support them comes about " Their is no country in the world, including the US, that can just absorb and fund millions of immigrants permanently in 2 month...its not possible and its not realistic The Ukrainian refugees are being given temporary shelter and places to live so they not killed during Putins War Most of the refugees obviously will go home and they want to go home once its safe. I am not sure why you would criticize the EU response when its clearly the right thing to do considering the proximity of Ukraine to the EU and the reality of what happens anyway during a war and or invasion when one country is attacked Have you see how many Syrian refugees live in these safe but appalling refugee camps in countries on the border of Syria? Take a look at these conditions and compare that to the appreciated response from the EU https://www.voanews.com/a/middle-east_syrian-refugees-border-camp-face-humanitarian-crisis/6172627.html I can understand your frustration but the EU didnt create this refugee crisis, its important we dont lose sight of that
