  1. Well their is no honest debate about "if civilian structures have been targeted " they have, its irrefutable I can understand part of the point the article is making but its unlikely that hospitals and schools are being used in the Ukrainian defense Also this is exactly what Hamas does when they decide to launch futile rocket attacks on Israel, they use civilian buildings and then complain when the Israelis destroy the civilian buildings. But they do it exactly knowing their will be consequence because they can say " look, Israel is attacking civilian buildings " yet Israel wouldnt be targeting those buildings if rockets werent being launched from them But despite this the situations are different, Ukraine is a war and an unprovoked invasion. And the intentional or lack of concern with Russia's targets is both craven and contemptuous
  2. Zora please dont develop that bad habit demonstrated by some of making a post and editing the post with " nah, not worth it ". If you taking the time to make a post have the conviction to finish it. I may not always agree with you but I respect your intelligence and belief in your opinions. We can disagree with each other, thats the nature of debate Nah, Democracy dies when Putin lies and invades a sovereign country
  3. When an outsider from the GOP establishment, a political neophyte, is able to become the Republican presidential candidate and then defeat the Democrats the lesson is clear. The mainstream political parties in the US in 2016 were out of touch with American voters on real issues and what matters And those real issues will differ between the 2 parties and then Trump resonated with enough undecided voters who can carry an election So the point is around political parties not connecting with their voting base and an outsider is able to win
  4. No we dont want that, 4 years of Trumpism was fine ....we dont want another 4 years. The point was made
  5. That case is still ongoing as far as I know, I can find out if you interested? Normally people face 15 years for that type of white collar crime
  6. Meh, I have lost almost all interest in Afghanistan since the Taliban took over and now have again started denying Afghan women the right to education https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/baffled-taliban-reneging-pledge-girls-education-83650457
  7. https://www.citizen.co.za/news/south-africa/breaking-news/3062044/nasfas-thief-sentenced-to-five-years-in-jail/ So in SA we have student university funding scheme called NASFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme) and students get about R1400\month In 2017 one student was accidently paid R14 million instead of R1400 she went on a greedy spending spree and spent R800K She was charged for theft and today jailed for 5 years. I wonder if anyone thinks that sentence is too harsh considering the money was accidently paid into her account. Of course she shouldnt have spent anything and immediately let NASFS know about the mistake but 5 years in jail....I would have thought a suspended sentence is more applicable?
  8. As long as you making progress with that old house and addressing the problems as they appear I would say its worth it ?
  9. No one likes a religious extremist Hurlshot ....think carefully about that decision
  10. You have to factor in Romance outcomes in games like this so I get what you worried about with Nasty, I made the difficult decision to finally join the Berserkers in ELEX 1 I liked their magic and their view of the world but I thought they were a little naïve around their rejection of technology. But thats another reason why I love PB games, you really have to consider choices around factions
  11. Sure, end of the day I would support buying gas in Rubles if the EU has no choice That should be obvious, in English we say " you dont want to cut off your nose to spite your face " But here is another concerning metric of the deeply damaged Russian economy, the Russian stock market has still not opened properly....over 1 month since the invasion https://finance.yahoo.com/news/russian-stocks-fall-again-moscow-094646223.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall
  12. Their arent many things more laborious and stressful than having to move...packing all your things up and then unpacking And its not like you can pay someone to do it for you so I can empathize with your pain
  13. Gorthfuscious !! Thats a terrible thing to suggest, how do you sleep at night
  14. As long as you doing the DIY yourself thats the most important thing ...you dont want to bring in some contractor to do the work !!!
  15. Cynical but funny But on a serious note. I would argue since Trumps election their has been more accusations of political dichotomy and disfunction than ever before in the US I would regularly hear comments on the likes of CNN that " the US is a politically divided nation and we need to heal " But this Ukraine invasion has demonstrated that you can absolutely achieve bipartisan support in the US and it does matter if you think of the effectiveness and level of the US sanctions against Russia So for our all American members, things are really not that bad in the US and outside of the Trump theater they never have been You just need a real threat to the US, or its historical allies like the EU, to see unity and Congress working together So well done to the US Congress for working together and supporting Biden where necessary during these dark times of Putins War I have said this before and I will say this again. Putins War has had the unintentional outcome of uniting the EU and NATO. Im just sorry its been at the loss of Ukrainian lives But if Trump has been president I shudder to think what would have been the US response ?
  16. That looks like it has huge potential, I like games set in a Western theme and I like the whole choice and consequence outcomes I see you can create temporary ghost towns if you wipe everyone out
  17. https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/germany-g7-rejects-russias-demand-pay-gas-rubles-83718683 Their is nothing amusing about Russia trying to worm out of agreed on contracts for gas payments Thats why the G7 rejected it
  18. No, thats very unreasonable The US has been involved in much more important and positive conflicts ,and I would say are indeed morally proper, than negative conflicts. And we wouldnt have the freedoms we have today if it wasnt for countries like the US and their military contribution Think of WW1, WW2 and the Cold War....can you imagine the hell of living under Communism like the USSR ?
  19. Did they spread and believe misinformation mostly for not understanding the national and ethnic reality of Ukraine or did they do it because of more ideological reasons and some being anti-western and Russian apologists or did they do it for other reasons? And I realize this doesnt apply to everyone, I am just interested in your observations
  20. Interesting, I have never heard of The Council but that looks like exactly what they doing in Swansong Its looks fun and has more traditional RPG mechanics than Coteries which was great but thats a " real " narrative RPG
  21. This quote below will go down in military history as one of the worst predictions ever made
  22. Yes but I want to see a ceasefire but its not happening now
  23. The military success of the Russian invasion has definitely gone against them in several areas but its still better to reach a complete ceasefire IMO than one more Ukrainian has to get killed
  24. Keep us updated of your Elden Ring exploits and adventures ....no major spoilers of course
  25. Putin did lie its true but now Russia is in a different and much worse position than 2 months ago where Putin miscalculated on several levels that include he underestimated the Ukrainian military resolve he overestimated the Russian military effectiveness he didnt think NATO and the West would be as united or be able to implement the sanctions they have been able to do he underestimated the damage done to the Russian economy by the Western sanctions he doesnt have UN support or even the support of his " friend " China. The CCP is taking the warnings seriously from the US and it allies about not supporting Russia in certain ways So I can believe Putin and the Russian military want a way out and I can also believe this statement about not using nukes is sincere
