  1. Dogs that get involved in wars are so cute and I always find these stories heartwarming
  2. I am opposed to Putin and his policies but I have no issue with the Russian people and its not personal for me For example I have always recognized the beauty of Russian women. Here is local Russian song that highlights this (I apologize if it has been posted already )
  3. Many political commentators have been saying how over the last few years that the US political system has become so dichotomous that its almost impossible to get bipartisan support over real issues between the GOP and the Democrats But as far as sanctions towards Russia is concerned and being united around supporting Ukraine the US Congress is working together nicely. Nothing unites Congress more than a real foreign threat, Im sure we all remember the tragic events of 9/11 and how that united the US politically One of the greatest ironies with the invasion of Ukraine and Putins fearmongering about " Western and NATO expansion" is he has unintentionally united the EU and NATO and made them stronger. I would be thanking Putin if it wasnt at the expense of the lives and sufferings of Ukrainians
  4. @Zoraptor I was going to ask you the same question " why would you think India should be sanctioned for buying Russian oil " but Elerond beat me to it Their are no sanctions around buying oil from Russia until Western countries can insulate themselves from buying energy from Russia and then you just need Western countries and their allies to not buy energy from Russia. I dont support sanctions against the likes of India anyway because I like India and Modi is a bulwark against China Of course its terrible to see the rise of aspects of Hindu nationalism and the egregious treatment of Indian Muslims but as you know the world doesnt really care about the mistreatment of Muslims unless the US or the West is involved then it presents an opportunity for outrage and venting about things like " Trumps Muslim Ban" But I digress, in closing you dont need energy sanctions to bring the Russian economy to its knees and cause a change to Putins War one way or another. But its a long term game, I predict 6 -24 months for the real damage to be seen to the Russian economy but these things can never be predicted with accuracy
  5. Indeed and its going to go down as the greatest miscalculation of Putins life
  6. Yes I think their is always a risk Putin may object to Ukraine joining the EU but thats something the Russian gaslighting has not focused on, its always been about NATO And at the moment their are EU countries not part of NATO so its going to be hard for the Russian propaganda machinery to really use that as excuse for further warmongering?
  7. If Russia pulls out and Ukrainians agree not to join NATO I would go with that ?Ukraine can still join the EU when its suitable but it doesnt need to be part of NATO ?
  8. If she is hot then definitely put some effort in, I have dated lots of single moms and they normally great and have patience with certain things that non-moms might complain about Important advice, never expect her to take your side over the kids ...the kids will generally always be the first priority. And unless you prepared to commit to long term relationship always remember you not the father, I dont believe in replacing the role that the father has unless he is absent and the relationship is long term . And trust me you can have a excellent relationship if you can respect these potential problems But when you say she isnt a Western liberal what is she? I have found all the women I spend time with dont really follow or care much about politics or geopolitical events
  9. @bugarup Bugie I am interested in the complexity of the different languages and ethnic groups in regions like the Baltic states and East Europe Is the Lithuanian language similar to Estonia and Latvia and is your language similar to any other EU country? And what country would you say has similar dialect to Lithuanian? In SA we have 9 official black languages and some of the black languages are not similar at all so its interesting for me to see how variation of language in the world
  10. Zora please post links when you make these types of posts so we can verify the veracity of these types of developments during the invasion
  11. Only the CCP would still try to achieve a "zero Corona " strategy....I wonder why they think they should try to achieve this ?
  12. What a strange way to look at the events of history, of course their are bad guys in almost every conflict. The NAZI were the bad guys in WW2 and Russia are the bad guys here They decided to recreate the borders of a sovereign country and then invaded that country. Yes they the bad guys and we should be able call them out
  13. Dont waste your time with these types of debates with 2133, he is just mad because Putin has been proven to be the bigger liar and warmonger than the West and specifically the US. So now he will argue some arcane historical point as if it makes a difference but end of the day like you said " it doesnt change anything " and Putins legacy has been destroyed forever ....Putin cannot ever come back from this invasion of Ukraine But this invasion has united the West in ways I didnt think was possible and more important its united the EU even more and made NATO stronger
  14. I posted a link after that post, she probably wont be charged with anything else but you never know
  15. It looks like she was charged for hooliganism and only fined Clearly their was too much international attention on her arrest, the UN human rights commission even got involved. Good to know the Ruskies didnt want to martyr her and draw more negative attention to the train wreck of Putins War https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/mar/15/marina-ovsyannikova-russian-journalist-fined-for-live-broadcast-protest
  16. I didnt know what you were talking about so I looked it up, very clever https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Voight-Kampff machine
  17. Its Comrade, its not suppose to make sense or be relevant
  18. Sure but no one wants a war with Russia and no one wanted Russia to invade Ukraine so that we would see this proxy conflict Wars cost lives, destroy livelihoods and harm the global economy and they directly slowdown the global economic recovery after the lockdown So this was not something West wanted but now Putin started it and now the West, and indirectly, the rest of world is impacted by it especially countries that arent first world like SA and most of Africa
  19. Sarex I wish you would not dwell on the past so much, yes mistakes were made and I think we can all acknowledge that But think of the world nowadays, its not like any famous Serbian tennis player would be banned from any Western country because of Corona fearmongering ...oh wait
  20. Not sure it takes much convincing if you think of the EU vs Russia and the difference in quality of life and all the benefits countries gain to be part of the EU How exactly are they being used when citizens can compare the two choices and decide for themselves ?
  21. Also the oil price is dropping nicely so I am expecting to see pretrol\gas price drop as quickly as the price increased Its still early but we not seeing that in SA yet
  22. Yes I will happily take a bet with you over the significance of the $ but you wont honor it when you lose ....remember you still havent eaten your hat
  23. I accidently turned off my wifi access on my phone today and some of my family were trying to find out how I was feeling after my jab. But they were all using WhatsApp and none of them thought to phone me so people thought I was dead because of a bad reaction to the vaccine Its funny how we become so use to SM as a type of communication and sometimes literally forget to just phone ....the " old fashioned way "
  24. But no one is going to ignore the $ in any meaningful way as had been explained and demonstrated historically since the end of WW2 so no need to be worried
  25. I have been following this, she is very brave. She has 2 kids and she has been arrested and faces 3-15 years imprisonment Another great example of the free and proud society that exists in Russia under Putin
