  1. saw that Birdman thingy, and it was awesome. great camerawork, but you'll be hearing that a lot now.
  2. oh sorry, I assumed it was official since this is the news thread.
  3. somehow I find it irritating, that they use Codex memes to market their game. looks immature.
  4. I just imagined Seagal in a romantic comedy
  5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8BwwplbaM8
  6. it's actually very accurate when it comes to equipment, SEALs are using proper Mk18 carbines, for god's sake
  7. not true on both accounts. and no, I won't provide a prooflink, I don't keep an RPGCodex.txt, but I've seen stuff you mention happen
  8. what about that cloud of dust near the cop's head? bullet couldn't have ricocheted there after hitting the guy in the head. I believe that was a clear miss
  9. well, Isobel Yeung is a journalist from Hong Kong who got a lot of exposure when some celebrity twitted about one of her reports (on dog eating festival in China, IIRC). The character on the Kickstarter page looks somewhat like her. so I wonder if it's just a coincidence, or...
  10. lol, Isobel from Hong Kong... they can't be serious
  11. makes sense that I didn't like it that much, then
  12. new Mount & Blade?
  13. why would he have an ID on him in the first place? that's not just negligence, that's stupid. either the shooters weren't those brothers, and left the ID there to throw the cops off, or it was done for some other reason, still deliberately.
  14. going back to math for a second, I remember having algebra and geometry in fifth grade, that's when Soviet schools would begin teaching it to kids. Not sure why you'd wait until 8th grade. what's there to do in math without algebraic equations and trigonometry for 8 years?!
  15. I'm fairly certain he was given a chance to drop his gun and come out with his hands up at least several times before the cops stormed the building. the thing with special tactical teams is, once they're in they take no prisoners. they're trained to kill/disable anyone with a gun in his hands. in a hostage situation there's no time to try and pacify perps, you shoot to kill. the guy in the video had a gun in his hand. do you expect people to try and disarm someone who didn't want to give up peacefully and now charges them with a weapon in his hands? that's just stupid
  16. look in the 90s section. pretty mych any major anime from the 90s is at least worth one watch. D, GITS, Patlabor 2, most Gibli movies, Old man Z etc. and, of course, notable fringe works, like Akira, Tokyo Godfathers, Paprika.
  17. Primer is amazing
  18. so, there's a version that says the whole thing was staged http://newru.org/gollivud-na-elisejskix-polyax-ostorozhno21/
  19. holy crap. the stuff that he talks about is unbelievable. it sounds like something from some dystopian story. I will have to take his word for it, since I don't live in the US and have no idea how public education works there. if, indeed, what he says is true, then I think someone is simply trying to sabotage the whole public education system. I mean, seriously, algebra pushed into high school? are they crazy? I had calculus in 10th grade.
  20. it probably has more to do with recent history of the region (last 50 or so years) then with Islam. the big picture, probably, includes many factors: historical, religious, economical, sociological and political. as an example, one person said in an interview, that in France it's common for young Muslims to get radicalized in prisons, which was likely the case for Hebdo shooters
  21. looks more like a remake of Jagged Alliance
  22. so, found a nice little RPG for Android called Mage Gauntlet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mneJ5ZD2Yzc
