  1. do have to remove the "not too" part from the thread's title now?
  2. to paraphrase, a random person randomly decided to "all caps" it
  3. Arma's engine isn't much younger, not sure what has changed in it internally in the last 13 years, probably not much, since they're rewriting the whole thing for DayZ
  4. how is it? didn't buy it because I already have dozens of games I am yet to play, but it's on my wishlist
  5. The Drop Oh boy, y'all need to see this movie. You will be surprised, you won't be disappointed. This isn't your average mobster flick.
  6. just saw one example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuAMp-WGCfg
  7. too much boob (can there be too much of that, though)?
  8. wikis don't have much info, really. and the game can be overwhelming at first. it's so complex that finding out how stuff works just by exploring all the menus can be difficult. in creative mode all you really need to do is pick a module you want to place and drag it to your action bar. after that just figure out what you want to build. to build a simple spaceship you need to click that "New Small Ship" button and place the chassis you get from that action anywhere. then just attack a small reactor, a ****pit, a gyroscope and a few thrusters to it, making sure you have enough thrusters to propel the ship in all 6 directions (so, at least 6 to be able to stop the ship completely with inertial dampening). everything else is just extra, designed to make ships suitable for a certain task (like mining drills or welders). just start small and see where your imagination takes you. you can build anything, I've seen videos of people making whole factories, with automated assembly lines etc.
  9. really? let's remedy that http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/cb8uo/keanu_more_sadness_in_comments/
  10. You know, while I could agree on Neeson's acting ability, Keanu is just a cooler guy overall, at least his public persona is. And when I like some actor/actress, for one reason or another, I tend to pay more attention to his/her good moments, and less - to his/her worse ones. For example, I really like Jessica Chastain. I think she's amazing in all her roles. But I also have a soft spot for Genesis Rodriguez. So, if I watched a movie with Chastain I'd enjoy her acting, but I would've enjoyed the mere presence of Rodriguez on screen, even in a minor role with no lines, equally as much.
  11. heh, that's true, ACE doesn't add anything new in terms of gameplay. but there are many user-made missions that support ACE, you just have to know where to look. that's Arma's biggest problem, really. there's a huge gap between people who only own the game and play vanilla Arma 2 or 3, and people who took the time to modify their game. because it's such a hassle, sometimes it's just not worth it to waste time on downloading all the mods and finding a server that accepts all of them
  12. Taken was pretty cool, true, but Keanu > Neeson. definitely looking forward to watching John Wick
  13. bullet drop? maybe, but it doesn't change the fact ballistics aren't very good. I have to say, though, I only really played Call of Pripyat. but things like not being able to zero your weapon (especially the ones with optical scopes), not being able to shoot through stuff etc. maybe I just wasn't paying attention and it was all there. the thing is, I played Arma 2 ACE2 at the time, maybe it was the contrast between weapons in that and CoP that made CoP look bad. I remember getting to the point in CoP where you have to go to Pripyat, and one of the last quests I had was to clear some factory of bandits. I had a Colt AR-15 with something like an ACOG attached to it, that whole fight annoyed me so much, that I uninstalled the game after I had fought off all the bandits. I don't remember the exact reasons, but it was something about the AI and the gun that ticked me off
  14. that's pretty much what it is
  15. been playing Space Engineers. since I'm the adventurous type, we decided to jump right into survival mode, without knowing any basics. well, surviving has been tough, and we couldn't figure out how to get Uranium, so we decided instead to hijack passing by ships. the last couple of days have been filled with boarding mining and civilian vessels, flying them back to our base and disassembling them for components and resources. three days later, here's our base the three docked vessels to the left are our latest trophies: a military frigate, a mining hauler and a military minelayer. after a couple of easy kills (jumping out of your transport with a buzzsaw, flying towards the target, making a hole in its hull, hacking the control panel and shutting down defenses) we retrofitted one mining ship with minigun turrets and are now using it as a mothership for our attacks. we just destroy all ships that pass through our sector and tow the remains to our chop shop but today we hit a jackpot: a military transport this thing is so tough, that we had a long battle, almost losing our frigate and fighter, in the end I had to board it old-school style, making my way through its cargo bay and disabling the main reactor to power down all of its defense turrets. here are pics of the damage we sustained compare the size of that thing: towing it back to home base
  16. STALKER had crap AI and crap ballistics, it's very hard to enjoy a shooter, where your main enemy is cheating, and your guns don't work as they should. New Vegas is a better game in all respects IMHO
  17. you're asking the wrong question, "what do you guys think this means for Bioware"? who cares? what it means for us, players - that's the question you should be pondering. means nothing, really. Bioware will keep making these games, I will keep ignoring them. I don't think there's any chance of Bioware going back to its roots
  18. clearly Mog is the only solution to this crisis
  19. http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_26346801/federal-judge-rules-aurora-theater-shooting-was-foreseeable
  20. they canceled it because there had been a precedent in court where a theater owner had been held liable for a shooting in his theater. so now that there's a big chance something will go down during the screening, owners are bailing out, understandably
  21. that's because I don't like the engine, specifically its visual side (effects and GUI elements). also, I can't say I like what I saw of the game (very little), overall
  22. http://www.lar.net/2014/12/18/leaked-the-larian-plans-for-20152016-and-beyond/ blah blah blah plans to release more campaigns on the Original Sin engine blah blah blah new office in Quebec blah blah blah it seems we'll have a new "Gold Box" set of RPGs in 5 years
