I've not watched Stalker in a while. but the actors in it are very good, so a bad English overdub could really hurt. as for the dialogue itself, I remember there being a lot of metaphysical stuff, but a quality translation should be enough for you to enjoy it if you do decide to watch it with subtitles. actually, I'll go watch it right now to make sure

I don't want to sound like a snob, but I feel you can't really appreciate Stalker without reading the source first. the movie is just too bizarre on its own. also, not Tarkovsky's best for sure. personally, I love Andrei Rublev. oh, reading that book will also help you appreciate the games more :D

The Empire Strikes Back is a very well made movie, I don't know if you *have* to watch the first one to enjoy the second one, but it's the case where the setting is only a means to tell a good story

Watchmen has a very strong base, the original comic book is terrific. the movie itself could've been better, but it's definitely not the worst superhero movie. actually, I like it more than most recent Marvel and DC movies. the new Avengers are better IMO, but in contrast the source material for them is complete ****e, so it's saved by craftsmanship

Ground Branch will have hostage rescue from planes and it will be moddable, so you can start learning UE4 and eventually make your Police Mod for Ground Branch :D

missions now have checkpoints, so if you fail you continue from your last checkpoint. most side-missions are designed very poorly, but there are a few gems that deviate from the scenario you describe. and heists are a lot of fun

if you join an invite only session or something, Online turns into singleplayer with coop, which is how I play it
