  1. Unfortuntly as the game is set its simply going to shift focus. We start as a former jedi on a mining base and the Sith are hunting the character down because he is a former jedi. On other RPG that might be done, starting as a ship owner that gets into trouble by accident and ends up saving the galaxy might work with smuggler missions but as pointed out we need a decent engine that allows space combat and a more "hands on" on moving the ship across space. The idea have merits and I think everyone will agree with it but it simply does not work for SW:TSL as its set.
  2. Its a Fed Ex mission. I played Privatter and let me put this way, having a confed stilleto squadron pissed because they scaned weapons as I was flying a Orion it was amusing. Fed Ex means go from point a to point b to deliver something, not try to move around in space trying to illude patrols, SW:KotOR engine is unable to throw anything more that a turret shooter. I refuse to call a Fed Ex mission a smuggle mission, it cannot be done right in the oddessy engine. Also you are wrong, Kyle was a mercenary since he left the empire until he joined Luke Jedi Academy, he is a special ops and not a bounty hunter and as for Jen Ors she was a Rebel deep agent and she appears to have left the rebelion after the fall of the Empire to join Kyle, neither are bounty hunters. I played ALL the Jedi Knight/Dark Forces games AND add ons. Also you prove my point, if they did that it simply shift the focus of the game ... I dont consider FF X-2 to be a example of good game design.
  3. Hades have a point. First we start as a force user and even if that does not mean we are stuclk playing as a Jedi there is things that really dont fit reguarding quests. One of those things is focus, if the game starts to gear towards one type of quests its focus will be that type of quests, turing the game into bounty hunting shifts the focus of the game. As for smuggling thing it really does not work for the game engine since it simply turns then into "fed ex" quests.
  4. I think so. Its a pretty good game, at least it does more that "3 choices that leads to the same thing"
  5. Yes I do. Take "True Love" for example, it have RPG elements and its set in "mostly" a school. Its a pure classic.
  6. Of course I am, also OE would break into a market that have been cornered by japan for too long.
  7. The diference is those being american lives, if 9/11 was done against London we would never had that "war on terrorism" nonsense. The US is one of the most egocentric counties in the world.
  8. Its sould be a Hentai game, most of those are set in high school.
  9. Not to say the US Navy got lost and end in the Pacific and mistaken the Philipines for Cuba ...
  10. Up to a point, like I said Sith Lord is the Sith equivelent of a Jedi Master. Maul is supposed to that powerful except he is more as Mace, a fighter and Mace is a Jedi Master. Seeing he is the only Sith in that scene, he is the Sith Lord of that scene.
  11. The junction system of FF VIII required a good deal learning, it was not bad ... just required people to learn how to use it. There were some problems with the way magic worked but more because we could not dump the magic we had (except in combat) and were forced to refine it from items or steal it from enemies. FF VIII is my favorite too ...
  12. It was been said the movies are absolute cannon, the movies novilizations come next (only the movies override then). People cannot complain about events that happened 4000 years before the movies take place, Lucas is not going to make movies about that time period. As for EVERYTHING Star Wars it passes one of Lucas companies, its not without a reason of why Dark Horse comics also have a LucasBook logo, it have to be aproved by then, it comes with the Star Wars license. Star Wars is one of most protected license in existence. The fact many things are simply not official is because the movie contradict then, sometiings were never meant to be taken as official (the "Tales" comic series for example) in the first place. If people are denying the "Tales of the Jedi" comics as being official they are denying the existence of Kun, Ulic and many characters that happen to appear in the Star Wars database ... I dont think there is any need for me to tell how absurd that is.
  13. Maul does have Sith Lord levels ... I expect at that point Maul was the Sith equivelent to a Jedi Master, of course Palpatine was superior to him but no much diferent that Yoda being superior to Mace.
  14. First its a offcial book and goes by Lucasbooks ... it have a nice shinny lucasbooks logo in tne game and you cannot get more official except with a nice Lucasfilms logo. Sorry but that is your proof, I dont recall ANY time were Palpatine addessed Maul as "lord" but under the levels given to him he does have Sith Lord levels. We have the Jedi Council but we dont have Jedi Council menber class but we do have Jedi Master as both as a title and as a class. On the other hand we also have Sith Lord both as a title and as a class. I have unfortunatly overlooked this part: Sorry, you are WRONG again.
  15. You are wrong, during the Sith Empire there was only one Dark Lord that was their leader, Marka Ragnos was the Dark Lord of the Sith and Naga Shadow and Ludo Kressh were simply Sith Lords, Ludo tried to kill Naga after he was made Dark Lord of the Sith when Ragnos died. Satal and Aleema Keto were never Sith Lords to start with, they did not reach that far. Ulric and Kun did battle but Ragnos ghost make Kun as the Dark Lord of the Sith and Ulric his first aprendice. See the diference in "Dark Lord of the Sith" and "Sith Lord"? As a class you can be a Sith Lord but in order to be the Dark Lord of the Sith they needed to control a Sith cult (I am being nice enough to tolerate several Sith fractions running around at the same time) so its the title only the LEADER of the Sith can have.
  16. No, its not. Chaotic Stupid been used to descrive how some people always think chaotic evil characters must act as insane mass murderers, they could be but then again evil sould be more subtable that "evil=killing random people". That is my argument, the fact many people "got it" with that small phase sould mean something ...
  17. There have always been ONE Dark Lord of the Sith, only question is if there is more that one Sith organization around. Stats wise the class is allowed to exist during the Rule-of-two days but it does not change the fact there can only be two Sith at one time, the fact is allowed is because you cannot lose levels in the d20 system ... you can lose class special abilities but not actual levels and its ultimatly pointless, players taking Sith Lord classes can only do so if the DM allows then to play a dark side campain in the first place.
  18. They have to be that way, its how models are set ... no way around it short of replacing the head model when putting some headgear on that is not very feasable.
  19. The line goes something as "The Jedi High Council is on Coruscant, we are the Council in charge of this training facility".
  20. "Damn it Jim, I am a poster and not a english grammer teacher."
  21. Yep, it might been a good storyline except for one thing ... It have been already done, it can be found on the "Jedi vs Sith" comics.
  22. And hockers that make airspeeders shake and naturaly restore health.
  23. No, unless Palpatine actor screwed up saying that line. Its kinda hard to say because what really stands up is Darth Vader being the Dark Lord of the Sith with Palpatine being around, of course we can argue about Palpatine character simply using Sith knowledge for his own advanatage and not giving a damn about a 1000 years old command if that does not beneficts him in some way, after all he was going to train Luke with Anakin being around or not.
