  1. Oh but gamers are getting what they deserve. You think releasing games with technical issues is something that always happened? No, it happened because gamers rather "wait for the patch" that to not buy ... publishers realized thet can put a incomplete game in the market since gamers will buy it. I am not going over storyline and game mechanics, what we have in SW:KotOR2:TSL was exactly what was requested on message boards, the fact they might work or not is irrelevent ... people wanted to play a uber muchkin jedi and that is exactly what they got, they have NO RIGHT to complain that it does not work very well since that is what they wanted.
  2. The main story must be obvious, if the main plot is not explained during the nomal game then its not a good story and that includes little details. Now secondary plots can be "hidden" and require the players to explore convertation paths with NPCs and doing some side quests but the secondary plot sould not be supporting of the main plot, if anything the main plot sould be supporting the secondary plots. Any story that requires going around milking NPC dry of convertation paths and doing all side quests avaible to make sense is not a good job, its just a weak excuse for "replayability".
  3. This does not belong here. I was looking at Jade Empire when I got the Microsoft Fire Hazard system (X-Box) but when I seen it ... From what I seen of it its another "Standart BioWare RPG" right down to a aligment system, its not going to be inovating (at best its combat system will be like Fable, at worst it will be like Shenmue II and that combat system is what "new" from BioWare) and might be decent but dont expect anything but a adverage "RPG lite". Another to not expect its being based in China mythology (or anything near 10,000 miles of China) since the only thing that BioWare is being "insipred" of happens to be "The voyage of Marco Polo, pocket book edition". I know some are thinking "he hates the game" but truth is I expect it end up looking something like Fable that I enjoyed for the 20 hours it provided but its not going to be any "Seal of Evil" (can you see BioWare making a game were characters loved ones are killed and that includes a very pregent women?) in relation to chinese mythologie and culture.

  5. And the most ignorant post award goes to ...
  6. I agree. 2nd ed AD&D was plain wacky when it comes why some things worked that way, d20 3rd ed D&D even if removed the 2nd ed artifical restrictions at least it make then cost. "3.5" is wacky in the sense nobody really think the changes over, also a lot of things were done to make some classes more populat at the expense of others (cleric vs wizard spells) or just for the heck of it (the new damage resistence system). Yet none of it prevents roleplay, I am not going to say the "diablo" mentality does not exist in many of the new players that is a old problem.
  7. He is taken when entering a new section of the city.
  8. Diferent things ... OE was formed because BIS and Interplay had their days counted, they left because they knew they would be unemployed in a few months. Troika was founded by ex-BIS that left during BIS and Interplay golden years, I remenber that Feargus said on a interview they left because of how he forced FO2 development that lead people to leave BIS.
  9. I have no idea if that person was a former BIS employer or not and how he left BIS.
  10. My guess is none. I remenber a Feargus interview were he said people left after FO2 on how he driven that development so I dont think ex-Troika ex-BIS would want him as a boss again.
  11. A example of a non tech bug would be the "flying swoop bike".
  12. When production costs became too high, in order to make a game these days its going to cost over 20 million. Just look at how many publishers there was 10 years ago and look at how many there are now, the game industry is concentrated into main groups that just want to make a profit. They are still some visionary people that are allowed to make their games as they want, like Hideo Kojima, but such people are rare these days since publishers want to rush out games as fast as they can so they can get a return of investment, the problem is they are afraid of inovative ideas and go into the "tried-and-tested" concepts that makes their games just another title in the market with no appeal.
  13. Yet Volourn is right ... PS:T is one of the worst RPGs I ever played despite being a good game.
  14. Its true but there were some more conventional battles in that war. The issue with making a game set on the Vietman conflict is that it was a war without defined combat lines and a very psycological war with makes it hard to come up with missions were the player is forced to witness and commit atrocities from not only the enemy side but his.
  15. I dont remenber constant loading, there was a room that was a transition area from a map to another and I did found it anyoing but that was pretty much it. I was trying to remenber what I disliked on this game and remenbered ... the jumping puzzle.
  16. Well that sounds familiar ... were did I seen it ... Oh, its Planescape:Torment. Sorry but if I want to play PS:T I go play PS:T ... this is Star Wars and so such ending makes no sense, its good it was removed.
  17. The funny thing is that what is what you feel unfinished happen to be some icons and a bug. Yes they used BG icons and so what? They also used the same spells effects that were in BG and a lot of other crap ... heck I guess they decided it was pointless to waste time on then and moved on to make the game unique content. Everything that was unique in IWD was done, they did not used BG unique weapons icons for IWD. In other worlds you wanted BG 1.5. Is Black Isle fault you just "guest" what the game wanted and you are disapointed because what you expected was not what you got? I mean if I go buy Halo and find out its not a dating sim that means I can go complain about Halo ... of course not.
  18. BioWare changed the NwN engine for KotOR with the Xbox in mind, the Xbox uses a Nvidia card. Its hardly a suprise that non NVidia cards would not work as well since the engine optimizations were done for the Xbox with later the engine being ported for the PC. Since this game is pretty much the same as KotOR, it was designed for the Xbox and then ported for the PC, the same trouble that were in KotOR would show up in TSL. Now add the fact the game was rushed and lacked proper beta-testing ...
  19. People that realized the BAB is the same for all classes and combat on itself is a joke?
  20. True, they were replaced by chimps that do the same job but are not paid.
