  1. Well we have one word, the only word I've heard from them, which is that the pre-order items are not the same as the kickstarter rewards. Which you know, obviously. But it bears repeating that this isn't a misunderstanding, and that we know for a fact that the pre-order stuff and the kickstarter stuff is supposed to be different.
  2. Hahaha, oh wow, "the manual". Scout Mode is not the same as the Stealth skill. You misunderstood. You have to be in Scout Mode to Stealth, and you Stealth automatically when entering Scout Mode, but to detect traps or hidden objects, you need to be in Scout Mode, whether you're stealthed or not.
  3. Assuming we're speaking BBv480, you're not receiving a -10 Accuracy penalty for using the shield, you're losing the +10 Accuracy bonus from using a single one-handed weapon.
  4. I don't want to make a thread for it, but is it just me, or is the forum ridiculously slow right now?
  5. ┬─┬ノ( º _ ºノ) They decided to change it? Source?
  6. Honestly though, it makes no sense to detect *anything* with Mechanics at all. Detection should've been based on Stealth and affected to some degree by Perception.
  7. If I could afford a SSD (aaahahaha, yeah right) I would definitely install it to the SSD. Absolutely.
  8. 1) We should be able to expose anti-aliasing in our options menu. It was an oversight on our part. 2) Darren didn't know this but we were able to sneak in a gamma slider into the reviewer and day one patches. You should see it when we release the game later today. Hahaha, this is so funny, because I wanted to make a post where I insinuated that Monahan was just going like "Oh shi.. uh.. is there no.. uhm.. did we forget that?" and then getting on the phone with QA right away, because you just forgot to add it, a complete oversight, like "Oh schnaps". I didn't, because I felt it would be a bit out of place or could be taken the wrong way. And now you say I was right? That being said, I want to say thank you all for all the hard work, and thanks for really working on this all the way up until release. I'm not sure what state you people are in at the moment, but at the very least you're conveying the feeling like you're spit-polishing it all the way out the door. Truly inspiring, and I hope you all get an opportunity to just sit down and relax together very soon.
  9. Ah, alright, yeah, you mentioned that in one of the vids, about the style going from +10 to +8, which is just nonsense. It needs a large buff, not a small nerf. What'd they do to the Talent? It was previously 20% Graze-to-Hit, and I think Sawyer said it would be buffed for the release version, but I have no idea how much (or I just forgot). Unless they've actually changed things substantially, I can't see it making duelists worthwhile.
  10. Zoom and stuff, scroll pages, whatnot. Hahaha, what? First they drop the one-handed bonus down to +8 from +10, and then they nerf the One-Handed Style Talent? What have they been smoking? What'd they do to it? Being a duelist has been a bum deal for a very long deal, and painfully underpowered compared to dual-wielding and two-handers, and obviously so, so one really has to ask himself.. what?
  11. Big high-five, PS: this is the portrait I'm using for the game. ELDOTH FOREVER. If Kaz has managed to add an Eldoth-like portrait by release, I will quite seriously reconsider my decision to play a Deathlike.
  12. They stack. It also shows you in the log when you mouse over the line. Yeah, I don't expect it to be any good, not even when stacked with the One-Handed Weapon Style (which is supposedly being buffed, but I don't think any reasonable degree of Graze-to-Hit alone can make it "good enough"), I just wanted to know how it worked. Assuming the Talent was buffed to 30% from 20%, even when stacked, that's just 30%+30%=60% Graze-to-Hit. And that's still just specifically for Flails, which to me feels like the worst duelist weapon thematically. Anyway, cheers for clarifying it. Edit: I'm only just watching the Basic Gameplay and Combat vid, and ouch, that comment at 44:35 is just a mean, mean stab at poor BruceVC's heart. We must not gloat.. must not gloat...
  13. I'm not sure what you refer to as "female super model", but when it comes to a hooded rogue, there can be *plenty* of personality in the portrait.
  14. Oh, another question. I saw that Flails have been given Graze-to-Hit ratio. Could you check how this interacts with One-Handed Weapon Wielder? Do they stack for the purpose of the roll, or does it actually mean that there'll be two rolls to see if the graze is turned into a hit? Not sure if that's something you can easily determine from the combat log.
  15. This is funny to me because in Swedish, Hora means whore. Four whores to go, people. We're getting there.
  16. It is not. For dialogue, it's always the main character, and for scripted events, you choose. There might be exceptions, but that's how it works most of the time, at least.
  17. Does. Not being a smartass, you just asked, and the best way to learn is to be corrected. I wasn't really serious, I would never expect you to make a Paladin that way. Edit: By the way, since you're our friendly neighbourhood review copy aussie, one really quick question - is there a way around using a mouse wheel? My mouse is busted, so there's an oddly me-specific question for you. A lot of games does not allow you to reassign mouse wheel functions.
  18. Well first of all, previous posters are correct in that we have no bloody clue. But second... why would.. I mean.. wha.. why wouldn't you go for a full party? Why would you not consider it "worth" going for a full party in BGII? What the.. hell? I mean, aside from challenge or simple preference, of course. Some people prefer smaller parties, but.. worth?
  19. And this is a public service announcement, to remember that the game manual is likely, much like the one that's supposedly available on Steam, horribly and terrible out of date. There is an errata that is floating around. It is also somewhat out of date. Do not take information at face value. This concludes this public service announcement.
  20. Hmm. That is a failure on the writer's part. Though obviously most forum posters aren't going to bother. Things can be hard to convey appropriately. I'm not trying to excuse it, I'm just saying that it's a pretty common issue and rather understandable. I've yet to encounter a game in which this doesn't happen at all, and for all I know, PoE will have none or zero of these instances. But I'm not taking that risk.
