  1. It shouldn't be, I agree, but you just try to beat Brayko on Hard, in hand-to-hand, without Toughness. It's not going to happen, I think. If we're going for a ninja build, I'd say that you should definitely go for Stealth, Toughness and CQC. Gadgets aren't necessary and only Ranged Hacking is really useful for stealth, anyway. That said, I've always found it weird that a "Spy"-build includes CQC instead of Sabotage - all the Sabotage stuff is right up the Spy's alley. But not the ninja's. :D
  2. Albatross- 21 (+1) Because you're awesome. Conrad Marburg- 13 Henry Leland- 19 (-1) Because you're a corporate fatcat, way worse than Marburg. Konstantin Brayko- 19 Omen Deng- 23 SIE- 22 Scarlet Lake- 25 Sis- 26 Steven Heck- 22
  3. But that's not nearly as much of a problem, really. If you do something over-the-top, filled with crazy characters, no-one takes it seriously. And that's fine. If you do something very serious, everyone takes it seriously, and judges it from that viewpoint. The problem arises when you start mixing the two. When something isn't obviously over-the-top, aspects in either direction start to feel out of place. Luckily, I think Alpha Protocol pulls this off nicely in most areas, but I do understand people that think certain things feel very awkward in the overall seriousness of the atmosphere.
  4. This has likely been an issue during all my playthroughs, but as this is my "final" playthrough (i.e. my own personal canonical one, so to speak) I've gone to great lengths for everything to be "perfect"; this includes finishing all objectives on every mission. Unfortunately, cue final mission ("Infiltrate Alpha Protocol"), two objectives refuse to update when finished - "Save Mina" and "Escape Greybox". When I finish Save Mine, it says that the objective is finished, but when I check my map/Intel, it's not. She appears on the boat at the end (I wonder where Sis & Scarlet went; especially Sis) and everything checks out, but when the mission screen is brought up, it says 8/10 objectives finished. I know some triggers have been wonky, especially in the Checkpoint department (whomever thought that a checkpoint system was a great idea should be kneecap't), so I've tried "walking around" the points in which these things should logically "check out". But no dice. Been through the mission three times now, but those two objectives refuse to finish.
  5. I'm still looking for a trainer or savegame editor to edit/add/remove dossiers (and reputation). Just dropping it out there.
  6. In the light of your ending sentence, your entire post becomes tragicomically hilarious, seeing as how both melee and pistols are nothing short of amazing, potentially rendering all other weapons completely obsolete, unless you adhere to the 'pray and spray' school of thought.
  7. It really, really, really depends on -what- exactly you like about Alpha Protocol. I can't really say that any one single game is in the same genre, or the same style. The closest thing would probably be Deus Ex, which you should play regardless of what genres you're a fan of. Deus Ex is amazing.
  8. I don't suppose anyone is working on a savegame editor of some kind?
  9. I use a program called Modio to open the save and then in it there is an inside file called file(0) and then I open this in a hex editor from where most hex values are pretty straight forward once you know how to translate them to decimals and the other way around. The only thing is Modio specializes on 360 saves and hacks and such so I'm not sure if it wold be able to open your PC save but it doesn't hurt to try. Ah well, didn't work to open up the .sav-files on a PC. C'est la vie.
  10. I agree. The number of wasted shots is, in the end, staggering and it makes it hard to pull off those sniperesque moves. Even as a stealth character, it'd be nice if another weapon aside from the pistol was even remotely useful. That, and it pisses me off that it counts every shot past the killing shot as a miss. Kill a bad guy or a training dummy in one shot? Well too bad, because those other two shots are going to be written down as misses and influence your overall stats. This is especially annoying in the weapons orientation. At least to me.
  11. A bit off-topic, but I've actually been looking for a way to even open up the .sav-files, because I want to find a way to change the number of collected dossiers (to make it easier to get full dossiers before certain points in the game to trigger stuff, for playtesting) and setting influence (again, just to muck about primarily in dialogues and check outcomes based on what people think of Mike). You sound like you're already mucking about the .sav-files or somesuch. How to? I'm on PC, but I'd be surprised if the savegames are radically different.
  12. Bump for want. There has to be a way to unlock them or something. They just can't be shafting us like this.
  13. MarteenDee, I decided to register for the sole purpose of thanking you for your config tweaks. Not only does my Alpha Protocol run much better now, but it even looks better! Top notch!
