  1. Quite a few things in fact. It had far less bugs for one. I don't think I encoutered even half the problems in whole of Fallout 3 that New Vegas has in only one area.
  2. Just finished it. It's not a bad game but ultimately fails at too many aspects to call better than Fallout 3. Quality is all over the place and in the end it feels like quantity completely triumphed consistency.
  3. I'd certainly disagree. If level scaling of regular guns can cause a serious problem for the player I imagine the same can apply to other weapon types.
  4. Bethesda - the first Obsidian publisher who actually cares? If that's the way they care about their games I'd rather do without it. It's hard enough to find reasonable opinions without publishers getting reviews pulled and journalists fired at a drop of a hat.
  5. Why exactly do you believe gamespot? There are multiple other sources that say the complete opposite. Because I'm familiar with the reviewer and sadly in this case I'll take his word over all other gaming journalists combined. Was there any DLC considered? Maybe at least there is hope for small-scale story-driven addon.
  6. .... This is it fellow friends . EPIC, DRAMATIC is the key to great, compelling writing. They are signs of attempts at writing. It seems that for new vegas obsidian just didn't bother.

  8. Gamespot commented on the game in their podcast. Apparently it
  9. Maybe he had low expectations. Given Oblivion standards it would be hard to blame him. And I hope he's wrong as to the storyline. That was the biggest failing of Fallout 3 by far.
  10. Be careful what you wish for. There were far more absurd force feats in star wars expanded universe.
  11. Apparently most players (as in, almost all of them) played Disorder, so Order had no players = no faction balance = not fun etc. That
  12. Not really. But given that history is written by the victors and general state of historical education today it's hardly surprising that it is commonly believed.
  13. Why do I think the focus has changed? Lets see compared to civ 4: removed - religion, tech trading ,health simplified - improvements, happiness added - hexes, ranged attacks, strategic resource use, city states I do have a problem with this change as some of the most interesting civ games I had contained very little fighting. But the real problem is in how warfare works. I think that since adding things like giant death robots was necessary things might not turn out too good.
  14. It actually did have quite high requirements at the time it was released I remember being quite surprised .. especially since I couldn't find anything that justified it. And AI is looking even more worrisome in Civ 5. Since the whole game focus shifted to warfare it can only cheat so much before players start noticing things.
  15. And thus missed the extra skill points awarded for not being seen.
  16. Bloodlines had a good focus on stealth.
  17. Eye of the beholder and all that but I'd argue that it was at the very least better than The Room. In what ways other than combat? For all its faults SH4 at least tried to do something new. Homecoming was just a mindless mix of most popular elements of the series.
  18. Definitely this. RPGs are too quickly turning into mass killing simulators.

  21. We already have fusion reactors. Power plants sadly are much further than a decade away.
  22. It changes the perspective, I went from seeing Malak as a sinister sith who tortures people to just being my ex-apprentice If all you got from Kotor was a plot twist then I feel sorry for you, it laid the groundwork for what would had become an epic trilogy. But damn it there is not KOTOR III To be fair, what else was there in KOTOR1 worth remembering?
  23. Does that represents the visibility level we can expect from the retail version? CA was never big on clear battlefields but this is just ridiculous.
