  1. DSIII was shipped though, not sold. And I'm not sure if I agree that North America is the biggest market for this kind of game. Either way, Reckoning really can't be the reason they're tanking, it's pretty much a title that had nothing to do with the loan. And honestly, 100 people on it? What were they working on? The game has some pretty cheap assets, 90% of the quests are of the fetch variety, and the loot is random generated for the most part. Seriously, I.. I don't understand. They're tanking because they worked over five years on an MMO and the main reason they bought Big Huge and made Amalur is to get some money into their pockets. Which it didn't. So, true mismanagment. Heavily. And someone still has to do all that stuff even if they are fetch quests.
  2. North America seems like the biggest market for that title so I really doubt it would add up to a million. Not to mention that Reckoning doesn't seem like a cheap game. It's really big, third person and had close to 100 people working on it. If people were arguing that 820'000 for a cheaply produced game as DSIII was merely "ok" or even "bad" then Kingdoms of Amalur certainly didn't have great sales.
  3. Tim Cain and Chris Avellone to write on NukaBreak if Kickstarter reaches 120'000 http://www.kickstart...-0/posts/228528

  5. Because its not about joining a "group" as you call it. It's about having a belief and expressing it. Marriage doesn't "belong" to the people that oppose them. And theres no way of knowing how long it will actually still be discriminating against them. Who knows? The world moves and thanks to such strides stuff changes. The church was a LOT different already.
  6. ..... And said book challenges its own previous concepts several times and whos second part consists of a guy doing mostly just that (though not the subject matter, still) Please, please don't come with the black and white card. It's stupid, it's ignorrant. Not everyone has to follow something exactly or interpret something exactly like others do to still be a part of it. Most people despise what the church did during several part of the last millenia within the church too. Are their opinions or their following of said belief immediatly invalidated because of it?
  7. I dont get it either. Because you CAN be gay and deeply christian. Radical concepts I'm spouting, I know.
  8. You don't have to. There's the possibility to do so but you can easily switch it off. And play the game the same regardless.

  10. Joined ex-Troika folks over at Turtle Rock.
  11. It's terribly repetitive. It's probably the worst game I bought for 2010. It's an action game that's not quite sure if it wants to be horror, not sure if it's wants to be episodic, and was unable to commit. So you end up with 1 enemy type, cameras that dramatically announce every encounter, and you lose your equipment loadout after every mission. Sometimes in the middle of a mission. The narrative wasn't worth remembering either. i agree with 100% of this post And I disagree with it to 70%. Anyway, Carmageddon just broke the 50'000. The guys from Andromeda are at a little less than 20'000.
  12. Well,.... Carmageddon Kickstarter Spaceventure (Spiritual Sequel to Space Quest by its creators)
  13. So, apparently at least one publisher HAS taken notice of Kickstarter projects as Jane Jensen will make a second adventure game (aside from the crowdfunded Moebius) under the Pinkerton Road label this year with publisher support. Originally she wanted to do that if 600'000 was made on Kickstarter but that doesn't seem all that likely anymore. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Di0bQJuMLHA
  14. He's overreacting. There's only a little actual C&C in Binary Domain (though theres definitly a strong illusion of choice in the first playthrough) but theres some things that are a little different or have unique banter depending who you team-up with. That said its good, it has a fun, somewhat interesting plot and charachters and great bosses. I didn't expect less though as its a pretty high quality dev in general. Ever played the Yakuza games?
  15. The Leisure Suit Larry Remake Kickstarter has finished its run, totalling more than 673'000. You can still contribute on paypal for a while if you want. http://www.replaygamesinc.com/leisure-suit-larry-paypal-donations/
  16. The 650'000 goal has been reached on the Larry Kickstarter, still 7 hours to go.
  17. The LSL kickstarter is on its final stretch with 11 hours to go and needs a little over $10'000 (with paypal) to reach its final goal at 650'000, http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/leisuresuitlarry/make-leisure-suit-larry-come-again/posts
  18. Leisure Suit Larry reached its Kickstarter funding goal with 7 days to go.
  19. Who was it that was wanting to do a setting described as Lord of the Rings if Sauron won? Was that Sawyer? Feargus was the one who described the defiance pitch that way. No idea who came up with it though.
  20. Yes, still around 90+. The layoffs were big (Though the last two seem to have happened after those. But they don't have to be layoffs at all), but its not like Obsidian is now a 10 man company.
  21. It still seems to be mostly connected to the layoffs/cancellation of last month. If you actually checked the link Bosley mentioned he left/moved for personal reasons.
