  1. The closest thing to a doppelganger that I remember in Chrono Trigger was a special plot item.
  2. Not that informative unfortunately. Also... Dungeon Siege is back, this 3rd chapter coming from Resident Evil: New Vegas' Obsidian Entertainment. WHAT?! P.S. : Completely OT, but kudos for your youtube channel MechanicalLemon. EDIT: Ah, also, the interface looks slightly changed. Newer build again?
  3. The Vault is a wiki. Sometimes people add stuff and people don't notice/don't delete/fix it. As for why they put that date, guy noticed a released for opposition date for Honest Hearts on Trademarkia, posted news blog on the Vault saying that was the release date of Honest Hearts though unconfirmed by Bethesda, Ausir noticed it, added a note saying that it was a released for opposition date and not a release date and took it out of the news section and back to the guy's blog section. Link..
  4. Man in bigger and bigger plate armors that cover everything while looking ridiculous are attractive to women? That's news for me.
  5. Uh? Look at your argument, it should be clear why there's a double standard. Males character are power fantasies, sure, but for whom? Male gamers. Female characters are sexual fantasies, again, for male gamers, precisely the bi/straight kind. Dungeon Siege III doesn't do AS bad as other games on that regard (most of the Lescanzi witches and Anjali are pretty sensible.. Leona and Katarina aren't), but it does pretty badly compared to Obsidian's games.
  6. Those aren't exactly good games to take inspiration from as far as art style goes. Let's face it, what's done is done, but that kind of art direction decision is something I'd like to see disappear from game. It implies a double standard in the way genders are handled by the artists to my eyes, not to mention that it also immediately strikes me as generic. And to think that Obsidian did very well so far..
  7. Title is counterintuitive considering the contents of the article. "Story is overrated.. anyway, excited about DSIII because it will have more story! Yay!". He should have chosen a better title.
  8. Sure, but that's shoddy work, not DirectX's fault. I admit, I'm not an expert, but the way I understand, I really see little to no benefit dropping it. The compatibility problems that would arise are HUGE.
  9. Abandoning Direct X is a ridiculous idea and DirectX is definitely not why games don't look better than on consoles.. do they anyway? Even the crappiest port usually has much better IQ than the console game, though you usually notice the crappy IQ in the console game less because you're so distant from the screen.
  10. It's horribly inaccurate, doesn't take into account the way game development works and it comes from a ranking site that is widely already used by the industry to take decisions (e.g. bonuses granted only if a game gets a certain metacritic score).
  11. Not only that, but the ratings are so hilarious you have to see them to believe them. David Cage above Shigeru Miyamoto. Are you ****ing kidding me?
  12. Metacritic now ranking single developers. (Spotted it on NeoGAF) This is getting ludicrous.
  13. First phase: getting hyped over nothing. Second phase: first screenshot comes out, cries of "it's ****". Third phase: more screens and previews come out, forum starts getting divided on wheter it will be a good or a bad game. Fourth phase: a positive preview/gameplay video from a trusted source. Forum gets hyped. Fifth phase: a trivial detail gets spotted. Expectations plummet down. Sixth phase: game comes out. It's mediocre.
  14. I may be wrong, but the two pistols stance seems inspired (animation-wise, mostly) from Devil May Cry. Also, it looked pretty cool in a "press a button for awesome" way and also in a "wonder how this translates in gameplay" way. I mean, mixing firearms with magic seems to offer a lot of possibilities for an action RPG.
  15. Never coming out. NEVER.
  16. It's Nixxes. Their ports have been solid. and very buggy ! And had ****ed up control from what I could play of Lara Croft. Definitely not a good sign.
  17. Now, I know that generally devs are tight-lipped on these kind of things since PR tells them "shut your traps until we tell you it's okay", that demo cost money and that they can even be counterproductive (either by showing an old build that's not representative anymore of performance/gameplay and turns off consumers) but.. is there any chance we can get one anyway? If not before, at least after release? Thanks for any kind of answer you can give me.
  18. Yup that was something else. By that logic they should be harvesting dogs or growing bacteria and harvesting them. Maybe they already did it? AHAHAH. Drew Karpshyn >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> u R00fles!
  19. Because absolutely everyone is familiar with Square Enix policies with PC games?
  20. It's less about posting more there than here (I don't have your post count, I'm not funcroc) and more about the fact that I thought something like that would have some kind official confirmation or would be available somewhere instead of in a remote, tiny topic on Something Awful.
  21. Mr. Terminator wasn't completed. Chances are, when completed, he would look like a squid too. There's no escaping, robo-squids are the future. Except, no, electronic old men are, but that's a secret.
  22. I, for one, welcome more and more male characters hitting on a male protagonist just to laugh at the reactions of the so-called (by themselves, on the Bio forums) oppressed white straight gamers.
  23. Or maybe they just compressed it properly? Nah, must be a minuscule game.
  24. Didn't like it that much, but it was much better than the movie treatment in the OP, that's for sure.
  25. Interesting address.
