  1. Stop making sense. It's difficult to keep track what personality you're using when you're posting these days.
  2. The supposedly awesome CryEngine 3 didn't run all that well on consoles with Crysis 2. Granted, this is a completely different game, so maybe they'll nail it.
  3. Eh, really just a little annoyed at Eurogamer, not you. NeoGAF surely spots a lot of things, but they're not the be all and end all of investigative video game journalism (which you can't even say is THIS case since it's there on Obsidian Entertainment's front page).
  4. Spotted on NeoGAF MY ARSE.
  5. Besides having Fargo at their helm, has inXile ever done anything notable?
  6. Apparently Hunted: The Demon's Forge is terrible. No reviews up yet, though.
  7. They already gave you one: June 22nd.
  8. I don't think so? As far as I'm aware, Gamebryo was just the renderer part anyway and it was already heavily modified for Oblivion first and Fallout 3 after, at a certain point there was just so little original called that they called it with another name. Gamebryo's original company has folded anyway. @mkreku: The engine can't even handle global dynamic lighting and day-night cycles. It's simply not suited to the type of games Bethesda games. As for RAGE itself, it's my understanding that it's not an open world game, although it will feature vast areas, but I can't find much info right now (nor I have time for an in-depth search) so take it with a grain of salt.
  9. They're pimping the Creation Engine, they've already stated that the new iD Engine doesn't work for open-world games and, most importantly, they've been working with the tools they have (which are clearly geared towards making the type of games they make) for almost a decade. As with everything besides death I can't be 100% sure about it, but I think it's reasonable to assume that they won't scrap the Creation (should I just keep calling it Gamebryo?) engine after Skyrim.
  10. Hasn't there been only one score above 80 though? 14/20 would more or less indicate a 7 which, depending on the publication, means either "average" or "mediocre". And I may be wrong, but I remember the reception for other action-RPG these last few years (see Torchlight) to be much more enthusiastic, albeit not quite as much as for AAA titles (for obvious reasons). I'd just like to understand whether it's a problem within the game, a mismatch of expectations (maybe they were expecting deeper RPG elements and a more modern presentation?) or if it's just the genre in general to receive such a lukewarm response.
  11. Pretty low scores so far.
  12. Aren't you Swiss, C2B? That means you'd get the demo after the game is released anyway.
  13. I don't honestly feel like NWN2 did a better job giving you a sense of scale than The Witcher 2, but we'll just have to agree to disagree.
  14. Sure but the technical limitations make it so that they can't show more than that. Personally I think they did a fine job making war situations feel like war situations despite that.
  15. Seems pretty clear that they're going to work with the Creation Engine (which is really just a retooled Gamebryo).
  16. The "otherworld force" was a pretty bad idea. I take it that you've read the books, virumor, so can you confirm that it's Sapkowski's fault?
  17. No, no, no, no. Please, no. There was already too "style over substance" stuff in it as it is.
  18. Nope. As I already said, I think that the combat is pretty bad overall, and damn clunky. Pretty sure Starwars shares my opinion, if only because he said so on the Iron Tower forums.
  19. I'd agree. Had much more fun with that title.
  20. Can't you just make yourself some? Or have you sold the formula?
  21. Makes me giddy with excitement. They really seem to be pushing the character development this time (dialogue skills! in a Gothic Piranha Bytes' game!)
  22. I finished the game. Weren't there supposed to be 16 different endings?
  23. Aside from the beginning, mine was a no sex scenes playthrough.
  24. Eh, just to be clear, I think this is a great game. I just think that it's a great game despite having wonky somewhat disjointed and unpolished gameplay. Combat can occasionally be very fun and rewarding, and the character development is really improved compared to the first game.. then you hit a boss and suddenly I feel like I'm play a bad action-adventure.
