  1. Doing balancing, tweaking the lighting, waiting for SEGA to set a new release date, according to the interviews.
  2. Maybe they were talking about another project? Every preview and interview etc.. I've seen about Alpha Protocol mentioned the fact that you can't change Thorton's face... Either that or it was a feature they scrapped.
  3. That's actually pretty awesome.
  4. 88 out of 100 for Alpha Protocol judged as an action game it's pretty positive, since it should signify that the shooter-y gameplay is solid. Then again, considering the guy hasn't done his homework, it probably doesn't mean anything at all.
  5. The game will indeed have a demo, though they haven't announced when we'll get it.
  6. I doubt Obsidian would be hired to work on an action/shooter game, it's not their area of expertise and there a LOT of small devs that would be more suited.
  7. That's certainly an extensive list. I'll look into it.
  8. Bad reskins aren't what I'd call 'preset faces'...
  9. Memo to myself : never read Gametrailers' comments 'a substandard Mass Effect'... I have the feeling that if Obsidian's next project is a fantasy party-based RPGs it will be called 'a substandard Dragon Age' even if a lot of the design decisions are actually pretty different .
  10. Cool interview though after having read a bunch of Avellone's interviews, now I pretty much can repeat his favourite games and I find that.... disturbing.
  11. I believe Halbech is the company Leland works for.
  12. Seen a couple of those other Surkov videos.. a bit spoilerish, but I don't regret watching them.. I must say that Avellone & co. did a surprisingly good job with the atmosphere.. it really feels like a modern spy flick. While I can understand some will not find this a positive (I remember a couple of preview talking about stereotyped character), but for me that's pretty important. I'm not just talking about the writing anyway, the sound department seems to be equally great.. not just voice acting, but music (or lack of it, like in the helicopter scene), sound effects, etc. @Thorton_AP : My guess is that they've cut a good deal of the level playthrough.. probably the embassy will get attacked AFTER you've infiltrated it, going by the Thorton-Surkov dialogue.
  13. Shorter than most RPG yes, but then again, 20-30 hours is A LOT considering the C&C they've promised. I forgot the obligatory commentary on the Surkov's trailer : top-notch voice acting, some nice bits of gameplay, some hilariously bad facial animations unfortunately.
  14. Fallout New Vegas is doing much better than Alpha Protocol if you consider how far the release is (we don't even have a precise release date yet). Then again, being a pretty big IP and considering Bethesda's marketing, it was to be expected.
  15. Still, considering that Red Eagle sounds very protective of their IP (and I can understand that) and considering that I really doubt the other unannounced project is a half-project even only manpower-wise, it seems a logical conclusion. Mind you, Obsidian not doing any writing on it it's just extreme speculation on my part, and even then, they'll probably end up doing the 'small writing', meaning, they won't write, story, background and important characters but they'll still end up writing quest designs, dialogue, etc..
  16. IF there is a writer team at Obsidian for this game. Consider that, going by what Pop said us, Avellone himself called this a 'half project' for Obsidian... they don't even consider this their own game.
  17. The original Fast and Furious was decent at best and Tokyo Drift... meh, I basically had time to kill when I saw it and even then I felt cheated.. I wanted a mecha to emerge from behind the mountains and kill them all.
  18. Notice that they talk about 'video games', and considering Red Eagle it's not that big, they've probably made a similar deal with another developer, most probably in another genre entirely (I mean, we don't know what's the genre of the game Obsidian is working for, but considering their area of expertise it's most probably an RPG). Considering all the work on the design and supervision alone on Red Eagle's part, I guess Obsidian is doing more than grunt work.. Then again, I've never been very good with this stuff.
  19. Meh, as long as I can create a tanned Thorton with a stubble and some shades I'm okay.
  20. Seems like a fair enough review to me.
  21. Think you're onto something. In Fallout: NV, they're going to have us start off being patched up by a doctor as well The story isn't written by Avellone though.
  22. Sorry, but there's a stereotype to play to. It was either that or sneaking through/having shootouts in pizza parlors It's not the stereotype that bothers me, pretty much all the locations in the game are 'iconic' instead of 'realistic', it's just that I don't know what Thorton would do there.
  23. I think it actually looks better than the one in the game.. pretty cool.
  24. I've also noticed that Mass Effect 3 is listed as a Sony exclusive.... leaning more and more towards fake.
  25. It's not a pre-alpha (do you really know how old the build would be for being a pre-alpha? ), most probably a late beta preview build. There will be maybe a little bit more bug fixing and polishing before the preview (though the game has already gone so it's not like they're working on it now, except for maybe patches or DLCs) but don't expect any dramatic change.. to the AI too, sadly. Then again, the game looked surprisingly challenging even with the stupid AI, though it may simply be because the guy took the shotgun instead of the assault rifle and was distracted too.
