  1. I'm wondering about what benefit will have in gameplay the ability of cooking Considering it's Josh we're talking about I doubt he'd have added a skill that he didn't feel was important to the gameplay, and considering hardcore mode etc. seems to hint at the survival feeling being more prominent in this game compared to Fallout 3.
  2. .................. You killed Sarevok for me. I won't be able to imagine him as a menacing guy now!
  3. I really hope so. I actually doubt it will be Final Fantasy anyway, it's not like Square Enix owns only that IP and has never published anything else.
  4. Since when are nuclear holocausts awesome? Nope, in it's the post-nuclear that's awesome. Anyway, I just want to gently remind Obsids that I'd like to know what this new project thing is.
  5. Interesting, though, if that's really everything it does I doubt I'll tag it. Anything else in the new preview? not really, they mentioned that the animations are ugly and that geckos run like penguins, and are easy to kill(although, they did note that those are basic geckos) q Any new screenie then?

  8. I've been currently playing the Eschalon Book II demo. The plot sounds generic, and at the first levels battles are painfully boring, but it shows promise, promise indeed. Nice graphics for an indie (they do look a lot better than Age of Decadence's), nice soundtrack and slick interface. No point and click movement seems.. like a strange choice honestly, but it's easy to accustom to the controls.
  9. Another spanish review. It's an 8,9 with 8,5 in sound and graphics, 9,1 in gameplay, 9,4 in longevity and 8,0 in performance/optimization.
  10. Or a sequel, with AERIS waking up all alone in a mortuary discovering that she's the only one of the old party alive and has a talking Chocobo with a drug addiction problem as a partner! Also, the combat system will now involve the use of cover and you will have to possibility of choosing your approach between melee, stealth and magic (the equivalent of guns in a shooter for simplicity's sake, yeaaaah!). No dialogue skills and actually no choices at all and an outdated graphic engine on top of that. .................. I'm just bored.
  11. I really really do.
  12. I'm not really sure why they put Sie on the banner . Costs
  13. Yes, especially considering you have posted a pretty famous game which already has a thread on its own.
  14. It's pretty much a very well polished and published indie game, an indie game at its heart, if you will. So it's not an indie game. Good to know.
  15. Sounds mighty good. Especially the infos about missions and plot/writing.
  16. Since when is Portal an indie game?
  17. Is it? The amount of choices & consequences, some narrative choices (the all flashforward-flashback thing) and the choice of the setting for an action rpg are all pretty interesting and original.
  18. I've downloaded Eschalon : Book II demo but I still haven't played it. The character creation page looked mighty good and old-school, but the comments I've read about the combat system aren't the most reassuring.
  19. He had five pages, and only one that isn't filled to the brim with useful (and more importantly, new) info is the first page with the basic premise. Ran out of space I guess. As for the destructible environment, "it's limited to (barrels and) fugly trucks" and disappearing bodies were slightly disillusioning. A 5-page informative review? Sounds pretty good. Any new info that you got out of it?
  20. Maybe, just maybe, it's that the environment isn't interactive enough? Like you can't hide bodies, blow crates to destroy enemies' cover and things like that? After all, from all the video previews, it looks like the interaction with the environment is mostly context-sensitive (meaning you jump where there's a jump point etc.) with just a couple of exception (I remember Mike blowing a turret or something similar in Moscow in an old video). Strange that the reviewer doesn't elaborate on the subject.
  21. Because SE's unannounced project is shocking and looking kick-ass and sweet. It cannot be Obsidian's. Lol. Well Chapman said that he was pretty pleased with the polish level they already reached so.. maybe.. naaaah, it's not Obsidian.
  22. Sounds great to me.
  23. It certainly looks like Square Enix and Obsidian are collaborating, though it's still too early to link this collaboration with the secret Square project. My personal hope is that it's another IP since Obsidian desperately needs to step out of Bioware's shadow (not that I'm unhappy they're working on the Fallout franchise, and they definitely deserve to considering their past, but it's still a sequel/spin-off to someone else's IP). I also hope it's not medieval fantasy.
  24. In a nutshell, yes.
