Would be nice to see a screenshot though. -
Sex this time will be.... CINEMATIC AND INVOLVED!. Like Heavy Rain, according to the devs. So it will be QTE driven? With text as erotic as 'Insert Rod [A] (clever, huh?) into hole '. Or in the case of PS3 '[X] and [O]'. Awesome. I hope Obsidian learns a thing or two from them.. SIE's sex scene in Alpha Protocol could have benefited from that kind of system!

Kaput. Out. Canceled. Cut. Destroyed. Not. In. The. Game. Sex this time will be.... CINEMATIC AND INVOLVED!. Like Heavy Rain, according to the devs. Since I haven't played Heavy Rain, I can't vouch for the level of maturity.. or boobs, for that matter.

Uhmm... I paid less for both Dragon Age Origins and Awakening. Mass Effect 2 on Play.com costs less than the 'super deal' they were offering on Steam. I can give you that Mass Effect was dirty cheap, but I already have it so..

Ok... 1) Third person. Not first person. It's not nitpicking, there's quite a lot of difference between the TES perspective and what Dragon Age (and apparently DSIII) are doing. 2) I managed to play Knights of the Old Republic (there wasn't the top down view in that game!) just fine, and it had party-based combat. So yeah, the game can be played like that, and even then, it seemed pretty obvious from the previews that the 3rd person/over the should option is more geared towards solo play. 3) A developer that spends a lot of time creating detailed visuals and then denies its players the option to look at this details through another camera mode, IS shooting himself in the foot. And I'd like to stress out : they've already pointed out it's an option. An option. You don't like it? Don't play that way. It's just that simple. -

Why? If the level of graphical detail permits you to make exploration immersive (or whatever the buzzword is now) why shoot yourself in the foot and give only the possibility for a topdown view? -

Huh? Dragon Age didn't work like that. You could choose what camera you were using. Exactly as in this game. -

Top down view is still present according to the previews, you can change the camera mode on the fly. -
Who's designing this?

... Looks like I know who to go to when I need to update my resume! Don't you guys feel stalked sometimes? I guess there's an Obsidian interal policy explaining to devs that if they use twitter funcroc will find them. -
If a team depends so much on an aging (brilliant, no doubt, but still aging) champion, then we deserve to go out.

Seemed pretty obvious since the beginning to me.

They were. There were to type of subtitles you could enable in Fallout 3, and one of them was the random chatter/banter/combat taunts. So yeah, nothing new.

Another one that rants a lot to gain a bit of notoriety? This type of internet phenomenon is beginning to tire me honestly... -

Either he hasn't done his research or he's accentuating the whole 'Fallout 3 refined' sentiment of the press intentionally. Who the hell is this buffoon by the way? -
Only a naive designer would design his game assuming that gamers indeed read manuals. A lazy complaint? Maybe. Doesn't really change the fact that most gamers don't read manuals, otherwise we wouldn't even have tutorials in the first place. Heck, I think one of the designers that worked on Alpha Protocol mentioned that at a presentation, so yeah, this strikes me as a pretty stupid choice. As for things you can do from the tutorial but can't (without a skill point in Sabotage at least) haven't we already mentioned that? Do I need to repeat to you that if you have 0 points in sabotage you can't disable terminals and doors with an EMP?

I think he's a senior producer or something similar, but yeah, he's the direct connection between Obsidz and Bethsoft as far as I know. Or at least that's what I got by following his twitter in the vain hope that he would clarify if New Vegas voice acting he's done by usual Bethesda VO actors or by Obsidz's.

Why is Obsidian making this?
WorstUsernameEver replied to Stalin's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
Someone else was in the lead system position on Alpha Protocol, though I don't remember who it was. Also, AP had probably a lot of planning problems in its dev cycle.. I don't really understand why the devs focused on adding useless features like guards being knocked when you smash a door open, but not some features the game begged for, like some more tactical stealth (moving bodies etc.) etc. It seems pretty clear to me that Obsidian put a lot of thought in the dialogue/story/reactivity mechanics but not nearly as much when it comes to the gameplay for that game. It looks like they're learning with their new project.. let's hope it's true, and they don't end up with the same problems in gameplay. -
Seems like a solid action rpg with a sandbox world but again.. same problem as always. It doesn't really look like Gothic. Neither the gameplay nor the art style, not to mention the WoW-like exclamation points. I may end up playing it, though certainly not on release. EDIT : Nice to see a demo not done with god mode for once. The combat looks to be challenging enough, which is pretty nice, and was one of my fears.

Why not? It's one of precious possible customers' opinion who might/might not support the game financially. I can understand that kind of reasoning if you're a developer but... as a gamer I can't read them, really... especially on GameTrailers. They're just.. so.. stupid....
