Obsidian working on a patch
WorstUsernameEver replied to WorstUsernameEver's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
They still worked on NWN2 patches for a lot of time while working simultaneously on Aliens : Crucible (sadly canceled before we could see its gameplay) and Alpha Protocol, so I don't find it surprising. Provided the publisher gives them the ok, Obsidian has always provided support for their games in my experience. I've always found community fixes to patch up any issues I've had. Uhm, you're talking about AP or NWN2? -
Bummer. I would have bought it for that price. Oh, whatever. I still have games to play and exams so I guess I can wait. Oh, and an Alpha Protocol playthrough to end too!
-
.. but they didn't. It's more like 'at the end we looked at Invisible War and noticed we took a similar design decision', or at least, that's what I read between the lines of that particular answer.
-
Considering they're not even in alpha stage, I'd say we'll have to wait a bit for a demo, assuming we get one. They weren't ready to give the journalists and hands-on, so it's unlikely they are ready for a demo.

That made me LOL... Assuming the action/combat is very fast paced with the typical hordes that tend to just charge right for you, complex or skads of spells/combos are often unused spells because they don't typically work well in those situations. I agree it'd be nice to have more interesting magic in the game, but well, we shall see. I'm happy with simple buffs/direct dmg/summon for action-rpg as long as the combos are engaging & fun to use against the given enemies. My hope is that Obsidian can add considerable tactical elements through environment interaction and combos. Like making an archway crumble to stop enemies.. things like that. It's probably far-fetched, but then again, this game probably needs at least a couple of fresh features if they don't want it to be buried under the sea of action rpgs. Alternatively, they could just balance the game perfectly and nail the action, though I'm still unconvinced.

Mass Effect 2 was about 29

Looks like this time Spain nailed it. Of course, the match still isn't finished, but they're dominating so far (I must admit, I didn't see all of the first half though).

GameBanshee asked and that was ol' Feargus answer. Also looks like we won't have DLCs, unless something changes. Good news for people plagued by bugs I guess. Hopefully they sneak a couple of graphic improvements too (though it's very very unlikely) or at least some optimization in. While some very debated design choices certainly can't be changed, a couple of patches could improve the game A LOT in my opinion.

Honestly I feel bad for Chris Taylor. The guy certainly deserves to work on another Fallout title, and from the looks of it (or at least, from my rather pessimistic pov), this title won't come out at all.

Yeah, though we don't know if you can eventually change the augmentation you're using (you would still start from 0 xp in that aug I assume). Problem is, until we see how it's balanced in game, we don't really know how it works.
-
The execution wasn't as deep as I'd have wished, yeah, but the idea wasn't that bad to be honest, so I'm willing to see how the aug system works in game in Deus Ex : HR. Granted, there's a good chance they screw it, but what I've seen of the game so far looks positive, so I'm willing to wait before jumping on the gun and calling it Deus Ex IN NAME ONLY! EDIT : Just to clarify, that was just to express what I think, not to stigmatize your reaction.

Games you are looking forward to.

A PC Red Dead Redemption would probably be a subpar port though. -

Would be nice to see a screenshot though. Or footage? Loving, kind devs, any news from Squenix' PR department about when that is planned for? We've literally seen nothing! Well, unless you take into account the magic roots ... Blurry magic roots nonetheless! Hopefully some behind-the-scenes footage will surface as with Deus Ex Human Revolution and Portal 2.. I doubt it though, those two were super anticipated titles.. Dungeon Siege III was at E3 to build its hype. -
Why is it signed Katherine Cheng? What are you? IIRC it's not Hurlshot that draws but his students so... yeah, he's a corrupt teacher who uses his students for his own profit.

E3 first impressions

Nope. They even had to take down the difficulty a notch to counter this limitation. -
Stealth takedowns look.. well a bit artificial. It's like the game is doing all for you from what I've seen. And I still think that the art style looks too futuristic (how is it that they have Minority Report style touch controls for numpads in a prequel and not in Deus Ex?). The rest looks great though, especially the action.. it seems like it's dynamic and pushes you to use your abilities, which is good.

As I've already said, I have ME already, and I can get ME2 for a better price... I'm not complaining, more like stating the obvious.
-
And HOW.

Recruit would be harder if not for the fact that using the recruit option during the tutorial showers you with AP.
