To quote from The Cat... : "Hey, I want to settle down. And as soon as I find the right small group of girls, the seven or eight women who are right for me, my wandering days are over, buddy."

Ender's Game. Eh, I'm not sure how to take it. It's got some good performances in it, and some interesting turns for the story but they've had to cut a whole lot out from the book. The training is really cut short and they don't really go into the full on psychological twisting of Ender through the events. So I guess it's more like the original short story then the full blown novel he re-did it as.

Heh. Funny story, a couple of years back I was in the car with my dad driving home from visiting mom at the hospital, we were driving up one of the narrow roads in the city and passing another car and both stopped. The windows came down and Dad was all "Hey! Burkey! How are things? Still the mayor?" To which the driver in the opposite car was all "Keith! Hey! yeah, Got the chain right here, just coming back from a meeting." reached back and pulled the Mayor's Chain and waves it about. Very blingy gold. I later found out they'd both worked together for years down the docks as crane drivers and suchlike.. It was just a wee bit surreal at the time.

Mothers will never see you as anything but the 10 year old boy with skinned knees, no matter how old you are. Even if you've been acting the parent half the time , they'll still insist on saying things like "Don't you dare ride on the back of your friends bike! It's not safe!" "What were you doing walking through that area at that time of night?! It's dangerous!"

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VI (The Old Menace)
Raithe replied to Gorth's topic in Computer and Console
Well, the standard 55th level Inquisitor Assassin with a mix of 58-66 level gear. Using Heroic Moment, I've been trying out various different companions to see if that has an effect. But everytime I'm just about to land that killing blow.. my healer seems to stop healing and I get killed, or the droid ignores my tank companion and blows the crap out of me..or..- 505 replies

I haven't been able to solo that Tattooine GSI Heroic (2+). Every time I get that droid down to nearly dead he manages to wipe me out at the last moment before I can land a killing hit.- 505 replies

Hm. I seem to have gotten switched into that awkward cycle where I'm not feeling tired late at night. So I start reading , then get to around 4 or 5am, and try forcing myself to sleep before it gets ridiculously late. Then wake up a few hours later, go through the morning fairly tired, and find myself awake and not tired when night falls. If I just try forcing myself to sleep instead of read, it ends up being a few hours of staring at the ceiling and not sleeping instead. If this keeps up, it could get awkward....

Happy B-day Sarg. Hm, life lesson learned this weekend : Eating a large indian curry on the Saturday, followed by some home-cooked traditional Mexican tortillas and such with tequila on the sunday.. does not make for a happy intestinal system on the Monday...

My sleep patterns over the weekend got disrupted. Or at least, I pretty much was awake for most of the weekend with minimal sleep. Therefore I'm hoping I'll make it through a Monday and manage to get some rest at an appropriate time at the end of the day...

Machete Kills! Full of that gloriously silly grindhouse style experience. Gore, disjointed racism in a way to make fun of, silly violence, excuses to do really silly things.. Killer Hookers with Machine-Gun Jubblies, and.. "Machete don't tweet!" That and "Put on your 3d Glasses Now!" flashing on the screen when Amber Heard tries to seduce Machete. Also, the trailer shown for "Machete Kills Again... In Spaaaace!"

Got a bit annoyed with the Corrupted Bothrium Beast after giving it a go, logged off for a break. It's got a super powerful life-draining "Extract" power that you have to disrupt, but somehow it can kick it back in quicker then your disrupt power becomes available. Combine that with the summoning tentacles which it can then zap to self-heal makes it rather annoying. I'd hit it once, it would start the Extract.. I'd disrupt it, hit it a 2nd time, have to run over to kill a tentacle it summoned before it could use it to self-heal, start to run back, and it would startup Extracting again, which kills me before my Jolt to disrupt it became active again. Edit: And then of course, after I've bitched about it, I go back and it dies within moments. Oy vey.- 505 replies

No and it's often a strong contributor. If I need to be social and don't want to go to a club, I go to danceclasses, yoga or some group activity thing. It's very important to remember being around people and especially the opposite sex. Things that really help with having a get-out social life - disposable funds to pay for travel to and from locations, and to gain entry into clubs, pubs, dance classes, etc. I know I have some slight issue because I pretty much grew up with that core group of friends through school, but where I've been at home looking after mom the last decade I haven't really encountered many "new" people. While that core group have all gotten jobs where they meet new people, are out doing various hobbies that have expanded their circles of friends, and the natural evolution of doing "other stuff". Thus what used to be meeting up a couple of times a week has turned into more like once a month or more.. Heh. Half the people I know nowadays are in other countries that I've only chatted to via the internet. If I'm not careful most weeks, the only people I talk to verbally are family members, the pharmacist when I'm picking up mom's prescriptions, possibly tellers at the supermarket when doing the groceries, and the occasional person on "work-related" matters whose trying to help me get my cv in order.

Apparently there was a lot more stuff filmed about Malekith, and Christopher Eccleston has talked about there were more elements to his background, motivations and what he was doing that fleshed him out beyond the two dimensional character. Unfortunately, that got hit by the editors in favour of other stuff when they wanted to cut down the length of the film. So who knows, it might turn up on the dvd in 6 months....

Out of curiousity I took my SI to Oricron. Looks somewhat interesting. However, one thing I did note : Being a character who has mods that are a mix of level 58 , 61 & one piece of gear at 69.. Every single character I looked at was wearing complete sets of cartel gear modded up to 72 and above. That was very.. "Am I not meant to be here yet??" kind of feeling..- 505 replies

The French military kicks ass.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_battles_involving_France_in_modern_history On a more historical basis, the French military always used to be pretty damn good. It's only in this last century that they developed the reputation of being cheese-eating surrender monkeys.

On a semi-related note, the first time I had memory blank was a night out that - I am told by friends - involved 13 tequila shots, and someone finding it amusing to slip a rum shot at the end. I have one clear memory of checking my watch and seeing it being 22:13 as they were discussing leaving the pub we were at and moving elsewhere, the next memory I have was being woken up a little after 0700 by annoyed parents pointing out I had to go in to work that very sunday....

Bruce, for various reasons I won't go into now, some years back I spent a month with a nice supply of tequila bottles at the bottom of the bed. Yes, it lets you get to sleep. But overall, it's just a wee bit expensive on both the wallet and the self-respect when you do it day in day out....

Didn't have the best of nights rest, was still trying to get to sleep when 4am rolled around. Seem to have abit of a headache kicking in as lunch passes, and it's miserable grey weather with sleeting rain hammering on the windows. Still, apparently some friends are wanting to do a Machete double-bill along with tequila and food at some point in the weekend, so that could be entertaining.
