  1. It's out in selected cinemas and available via streaming from a bunch of places - iTunes, amazon.com, etc. Although that's again, only in the US at the moment.
  2. It's all about that +3 Rear of Perfection?
  3. Well the wind is howling, the trees outside are bending, and the coast is being lashed by the channel waters. The neighbours house has lost some more roofing tiles that have exploded against our wall. I was going to lay in bed to let a headache pass, but the combination of a desire for tea, and a bloody nose drove me from the covers. So now I am having a lunch(ish) pause to drink fresh tea, and have some blueberry pancakes ...
  4. See, while I have respect for the athletes and the accomplishment it takes to get there.. I find I end up trying to avoid all mention of the Olympics on tv as a matter of principle the last few years. There's just too much outright silliness, politics and public spending going on with them.
  5. Or the rough depression of quiet desperation? Hm, one of my friends seems to be having a hard time. She's been cycling through a relationship with her fiancée for about 16 years now, with several kids, but he apparently slides into that cold, distance, doesn't really bother being affectionate.. which over time drives her into quiet depression. She decides it's not healthy, and starts to split up with him, then he suddenly realises what he's doing and becomes ultra-affectionate and super-dad. So she decides for the sake of the kids it's better to try making it work. Then 2-3 years down the line it's the same thing over again. And again. And again. I can appreciate trying to make things work when kids are involved, but I can also say it's just not healthy for them to be caught in that sort of environment either. It's hard on just what sort of advice you can offer.
  6. Really? If so my bad. Things tend to blur a bit by now with how things have trailed on.... Let's see then,
  7. So let us return to the assortment of the internet..
  8. When the wind is blowing, the trees are rustling and rain is setting up that rhythmic pitter-patter it can be incredibly relaxing. That and if you're warm and snug in bed it just makes you want to go "feck it, I'm staying where I'm warm and comfortable." Still, made it up to face the day, sorted out a few things, drinking tea, dealing with some communications, and pondering which branch of research to shake.
  9. Take some time to think things through. Do not react on first impressions.?
  10. Taking the time to sort out mom's drugs for the week, while I have the Education vs Creation debate running in the background. Hm, so far the Creationism guy keeps talking about changing the definitions of things, and then talking about scientists who believe in Creationism, while Nye talks science and evidence.
  11. Hm, I know I have a whole batch of things to get on with this week.. work to write up, books and papers to read... But I'm still kind of stuck in the weekends exhausted "oy vey" recovery mode and procrastinating my way through the morning. Fresh cup of tea, and deal with some laundry time...
  12. Would you recommend it? Hm, I think I'd definitely say so while it's on sale. It's not a huge game, and there's a definite curve to picking up some of the finer points in juggling everything, but it's certainly got a touch of addictive play to it. "Just one more quarter, I need to get the budget balanced, I need to check my focus groups...." As has been pointed out in a few reviews, I would say the game really isn't about politics and government, so much as more social engineering and how various policies cause the population to react.
  13. Picked up Democracy 3 out of curiosity, and ended up just losing most of my evening and night to running the UK.
  14. Okay, random weekend collection... lets see: +
  15. Happy Birthday Nep. I went out travelling for a couple of days for work. Then got to be bounced all around the Rail networks due to the weather causing floods and all sorts that disrupted travel. Got home late last night and crashed out. Woke up just after noon today...
  16. Sat down with a cup of tea and got sucked into a series of documentaries about the Space Race, Nasa's history, the original engineering and how they developed the tools that are currently being put to do all the new rockets and landers and wotnot.
  17. Hm. Something kept waking me up through the night and into the early hours of the morning. I am therefore doing my zombie impression now that I am in fact, actually up and out of bed and stumbling around in some vague attempt to do things.
  18. Is it? Maybe it's just in a medically induced coma? On a more serious note, it does seem to have faded from general awareness. Either they are keeping very low profile or it has just been forgotten by the "masses". Not sure who their target audience is these days, but other than the Neverwinter Online MMO, I haven't noticed anything video game related for a long while. Well as I threw out on the Weird News thread, DnD just had it's 40th Anniversary. The trouble is they did the big push with 4th Edition a couple of years ago, and kind of turned it into Tabletop WoW. Pathfinder swept in and pretty much gathered up the hordes of fans who disliked that, and now the new "DnD Next" edition is about to come out to see if they can get the fans back. So I'm guessing while they're struggling with that, they aren't going to get too hooked into computer licensing.

  20. Just for the general sesame street silliness.. http://youtu.be/-7jS7X-2ggA
  21. Trying to develop something for work. But kind of circling around and around. So, I'm going to take a pause, have a cup of tea, and then catch a friend in a little bit who has absolutely no understanding of the work I do, whereupon I shall talk through it with them and see if I can explain it in any format that makes sense to them. If that works, I think it might settle some of it in my mind and allow me to progress along.
  22. Been there, done that. Judge Dredd covered the illegal smuggling and sale of that white powder decades ago..
