  1. I'm using some silenced sniper rifle (with a girls name) I picked up in one of the other DLC's and I am one-shotting the new and improved Deathclaws. I was level 34 when I entered the road, but seeing as every little container is locked, I think I've reached level 37 just from opening ****. Besides that, I have to say I am impressed. I thought I was 'out-Fallouted', but the new DLC feels fresh enough for me to keep interest in it. Very atmospheric and I've been having fun for the first four hours or so.
  2. Gaah! They should have SMS updates on Steam! I only just bought it. Downloading now. Uh.. While I was typing this, it finished downloading. 31.3 MB..? That's a lot of money per MB :D Edit: Oops. It must have downloaded a small patch or something first, because now it is downloading 754 MB.
  3. Is there anything you can't do in Minecraft?? (not really funny, but I didn't know where else to put it)
  4. http://news.yahoo.com/online-gamers-crack-...-175427367.html Gamers finally have an excuse to exist!
  5. If you think randomly generated dungeons/towns are content, then yes, Daggerfall is full of content. If you, like me, don't care for randomly generated content, then Daggerfall is very very empty. I only remember the main quest being "hand made", but I may be wrong on this. The point is that 99,9% of Daggerfall is randomly generated and for me that makes it feel empty.
  6. No, this is wrong. It plays well. In fact, it was one of the first games I remember playing that had mouselook. Try going back to games before mouselook and you will experience what not playing well means. For example, I absolutely loved the Ultima Underworld games when they came out. Try replaying them now (Hint: they do not have mouselook). Daggerfall plays extremely well by comparison. The problem is that we've come to expect so much more from our games nowadays. Daggerfall feels extremely empty by today's standards. There is basically only the main quest that's worth following, and it only covers something like 0,1% of the gameworld.
  7. Apparently the megatexture solution in ID Engine 5 (or whatever it is called) is better suited for games with distinct levels than open-world games. The megatextures are supposedly pretty big, even for relatively small sized maps.. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-08-...21-22gb-install Personally, I think it's a done deal they'll be using the Creation engine for Fallout 4. I don't think they were short-sighted enough to develop this engine for just one of their two huge franchises. Also, Oblivion and Fallout 3 were incredibly similar in everything except art style, and I imagine Skyrim and Fallout 4 will share equally much. For an amateur like me, it seems all Bethesda really has to do to go from Skyrim to Fallout 4, is change the art assets (sound and graphics), the GUI and some minor game features. It feels like basically the same game in different suits.
  8. It's virtually unplayable today. It's actually a good example for everyone who uses words like "atrocious" or "horrendous" about today's games. So much is missing from Daggerfall to make it feel like a "real" game by today's standards. It says a lot about how the standards have been raised since then, because when Daggerfall was released it was the absolute top of the line, both in graphics and gameplay/content. And I have to pimp this once again: http://xlengine.com/ I would wait until that project has Daggerfall playable again. It still won't make up for the cardboard characters, the nonexistant dialogue, the repetitive dungeons/landscape/sidequests.. but at least it will keep the game from hurting your eyes so much. Btw.. Daggerfall has something like 16384 visitable locations (all slightly randomized using the same handful of templates). The map is roughly the equivalent size of real life Britain. It is still, to this day, the biggest game I have ever played (with the possible exception of Elite).
  9. Unless I'm mistaken attribute increases have been dropped from the game. Your attributes don't change, only your skills. A huge improvement on the completely broken and unbalanced leveling system of MW and OB, imo. You haven't seen unbalanced and completely broken unless you've accidentally maxed out Daggerfall's speed and climbing skills. I remember running through Daggerfall (the city Daggerfall inside the game) with my high-speed character, accidentally climb a building that I couldn't avoid in time, fling myself up up and away into the sky (because of my great speed, you see) and immediately die on impact with the ground when I finally landed five seconds later. It was hilarious.
  10. Great find! What a shame, the only RIFT game we get is for the N-Gage I actually own an N-Gage, but I can't get it to start anymore It just keeps restarting itself over and over after the Nokia logo comes onscreen.. It's too bad, because it would be fun to try to find old games for it.
  11. Just wait for this guy to finish: http://xlengine.com/ Let's hope he doesn't run out of steam.. the guy is a genius.
  12. You know what sucks? When you've had a game on pre-order for probably a year and it finally arrives, but you've promised your co-op partner to not play it until he comes back and the idiot goes on vacation in Spain for three weeks. Dead Island, I will soon come and spank your undead plague.
  13. It's Starbreeze, no worries. It will be good.
  14. Sweden lost Stefan Liv, a goalkeeper. Really funny guy, always hilarious in interviews. He was pretty good too, although he never reached NHL calibre goaltending. Very sad day.
  15. I used to have this thing where if my character lost even 1 hitpoint in combat, I would reload and do the battle over again. In every game. I'm very happy I got rid of that behaviour.
  16. I just have to add that Demise: Rise of Ku'tan is one of the most difficult games I've ever played. I could never get below level 3 or 4 or something!
  17. ASUS Sabertooth is a very good enthusiast motherboard for mid-range money. I bought one of those for my cousin the other week. Lovely piece of kit.
  18. And Marc Savard will probably not play again.. ever. Crosby out indefinitely.. I don't know, but something about this sport needs to change. I love the intensity, the speed, the physicality, but I think maybe a line has been crossed somewhere.
  19. I wish I was that creative
  20. I think voicing opinions would be an NDA violation. Maybe, maybe not, but I don't care to risk it. *makes annoying chicken sound*
  21. Tried installing the original Deus Ex on my netbook the other day.. It is a tiny computer with a high resolution screen (1366x768) and since the wrong resolution on a flatscreen looks.. weird, I tried playing it in the native resolution. Imagine my surprise when it worked! Everything on max, full resolution and my tiny computer feeds me 30 fps! I am impressed. It's an Asus EEE 1215N. I can't believe it's almost a year old already. Feels like I bought it last week. (Btw, that review mentions that the computer doesn't have Bluetooth or USB3. It has both..)
  22. OMG, it isn't until now that I understand that there IS no unique antimaterial rifle in New Vegas! I have never fired even one shot with the antimaterial, because I've refused to buy it in a store. Always waiting to finally be able to find that unique one that MUST be hidden somewhere in the wasteland.. Argh
  23. Gee, what a surprise. Morgoth entering a thread about a game he has no interest in, just to bitch about it. Again. Thanks for your contribution.
  24. I've had it on pre-order for a veeery long time. Me and my cousin are going to play the crap out of this in co-op. My most anticipated game right now, actually.
