Need for Speed Carbon vs. Most Wanted
mkreku replied to Diogo Ribeiro's topic in Computer and Console
Burnout 3: Takedown is in the top 5 best racing games I've ever played. I think I spent well over 40 hours in that game, until I reached the F1 cars. Then it became way too hard for me. -
By the way: the best value for money right now would be the cheaper version of the Playstation 3. The only thing that differs from the 60GB version is that the cheaper version lacks built-in wireless network capabilities (which I don't have and I'm sure a lot of other people don't have) and has a smaller harddrive. BUT (Yes, it's a big but) you can connect ANY 2.5 inch SATA harddrive you buy! So if you buy the biggest, meanest harddrive on the market, you can instantly add it to your console! You don't have to wait for Microsoft to sell you one of their extremely overpriced ones, like you have to with the Xbox 360. In Sweden, you can get a Hitachi Travelstar 7K100 100GB 7200RPM SATA 2,5" for the same prize as Microsoft is selling their 20GB Xbox 360 harddrive. I couldn't find the specs for the Xbox 360 hd, but I know that the ones that come with the Playstation 3 are 5400RPM ones, so getting that Hitachi wouldn't only mean more storage, it would also mean better performance. Edit: forgot the keyword "wireless"!

At least you don't let 7 pucks slip past you! Granted, two of those were empty netters, but still! And Toronto are playing like crap again. Win one, lose two. One step forward, two steps back. Let's hope Sundin's return can spark the team. We need to win more than this.

Yeah, I also felt nothing about these pictures, being Swedish and all. Looking forward to the next challenge though!

You wouldn't dare. I'd cry so bad you'd drown. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Get away from me, I'm warning you! I know karate, kung fu.. and 47 other dangerous words!

Yes, in Sweden everyone can attend a college. It's just a matter of getting the grades for it, writing a university test to get the grades needed, or getting enough "life experience" points (basically by working) to get into the education you want. US scientists are getting like.. 90% (rough estimation made by ME!) of all Nobel Prizes on a yearly basis. The US are the world leaders when it comes to higher grade education.

I once caught my new Nvidia video card in my fridge, drinking all my milk. Damn those drivers!!

I use NOD32! But I did buy it online. It's very cheap and they have a Swedish webpage! http://www.nod32.se/t_resource_10.php Also, it's won a fair deal of tests, uses very little resources and is lightning fast. It doesn't strike me as being as safe as Kaspersky though. -
But the nerf of paladins in World of Warcraft was real! BELIEVE MEEEE

There's also a 30 day free trial version of Kaspersky Antivirus to download if you really want a thorough check of your system. It's horribly slow and virtually rapes your system, but it usually finds everything malware related. Worth a shot. -
Oohh, finally a place where I can store my vast pr0n collection!

But.. I thought he said that to be kind to me.. :'( Leafs are entering one of their tough parts of the schedule now. Let's hope the captain makes a quick return. Saturday would be great! Anyone think Forsberg will retire mid-season? It wouldn't surprise me the least.

Phew! We beat the Islanders last night! We needed that win after two losses in a row. Apparently we didn't play well, but a win is a win. And things can only get better as injuries heal. I'm hoping for a play-off spot this year!

Well, I must say I'm a bit interested: PS3 running Fedora Linux: There's also an article (in japanese) about a guy who managed to start Windows XP (through an emulator) on the Playstation 3. Seems you can do a lot of fun stuff already! We'll see in a few months how much it's really possible to do with it. Emulators of all sorts are already up and running.

The only problem I see with Neverwinter Nights 2's graphics is that it looks a bit like Lego. Sure, the pieces fit snugly into place, but you can still see it's made out of blocks. I'm not sure what it is that ruins the overall impression, but it really feels like a patchwork of graphics instead of a cohesive world. The worst part about it are the roads. They look like they were painted onto the ground. Still, I'm not complaining so far. I've only moved around in the first village, but it's not near as bad as some people on these boards have claimed. So far.

According to Jonathan Cassell over at Isupply.com, the Playstation 3 is a bargain, considering what's hidden beneath that fingerprint-magnet of a plastic shell that is the Playstation 3. "With the PlayStation 3, you are getting the performance of a supercomputer at the price of an entry-level PC,

At least the captain has reported that he's aiming for a comeback on Saturday: We desperately need someone to score goals in 5 on 5 too.

Right now I'm sitting here wondering how the heck I can get my posts deleted without using bad words, without providing links to bad material, without corrupting the youth of the board or even trolling, flaming or doing anything I could think of to warrant a post removal.. I must have mad "mod annoyance" skillz. Oh, and I'm also thinking about starting a campaign to ban the letter "I" from the alphabet on these boards. I mean, since a picture of folded cardboard is deemed too dirty for our members, hasn't it occurred to anyone yet that the letter I can resemble (with a little imagination) a ****? Er.. I mean a ****. Dammit, I mean a ****! WTF, I MEAN A NATURAL ORGAN THAT 50% OF THE WORLD'S POPULATION HAS AND USES EVERYDAY TO PEE WITH, BUT APPARENTLY IS TOO OFFENSIVE TO EVEN HAVE A WORD FOR!!1 DOWN WEYETH THE LETTER EYE! Ohno, that exclamateyeon mark remeyends me of sometheyeng too..

I bought Neverwinter Nights 2 this weekend. I don't really know why, because I've never been very fond of D&D since Pool of Radiance (2E). Still, I'm not supposed to play it yet, because my cousin hasn't gotten his copy yet. We are going to play through it in co-op. I installed it and started it up just to see how it runs. It's fast, smooth and better looking than I expected (from reading about it on here for a few weeks). I have everything I could find on max and 1280x1024 resolution. I'm running on a Sapphire Radeon X1950XTX 512MB GDDR4 and a Core 2 Duo E6600 (@3.0GHz), with 2 GB Corsair XMS DDR2 6400, running at ~850MHz.

I'm still waiting for the next patch, and I bought it via pre-order. I'm beginning to suspect that all the patches in the world won't make Gothic 3 into the Gothic I want.

We don't really have a solution to rapists. I don't believe in capital punishment, but just locking them up only costs a lot of money and doesn't really solve any problems (except for a time limited period). There's no treatment to cure a rapist either, so they definitely shouldn't be out and about in society. Perhaps send them all to a remote, heavily guarded island, where they can rape and molest each other all day long without any hopes of ever getting back onto the mainland/society? )

I just discovered another pet peeve: when I'm mentioned in a thread (about p0rn, no less!) and it's closed before I have a chance to reply. Gaah!

ATI are releasing an AGP version of their X1950Pro video card. But I suspect that it would be a definite overkill for your Athlon XP 2600+. It's a nice, fast card otherwise.
