  1. I was lazy and didn't have the energy to dig deeper for a more positive thread on Gothic 3, but.. Community patch 1.7 is out! This will be the final patch and after reading the changelog I can understand why! http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/showt...d.php?p=8871228 Some excerpts from the changelog: "If the hero answers Kaelin's question "Say, are you very busy right now?" with "yes", the hero will say "yes" now instead of "no"." Too bad they changed that. It always made me laugh out loud because it felt like my character was revolting against my decisions or something :D "Size of Diego's head corrected." This is how you know a game is f-ed up: One of the main character's head is too small.. Anyhow, the patch is 880 MB. I haven't tried it yet myself.
  2. Bully was great! And since it's not the lazy bastard Finns (Remedy) developing it , it might mean it'll come out on this side of 2020.
  3. When seen from between two female legs, yes.

  5. Yes, because as we all know, conversations really do look GREAT in trailers!
  6. I downloaded the demo. It looked fantastic, but the combat was so confusing I just couldn't bother with it. Although I might have to add that I can't stand strategy games either.
  7. I read about a free MMORPG on Eurogamer and since I had no plans for this weekend I decided to give it a shot (they sounded positive on Eurogamer..). It's called Runes Of Magic and seems to be a strange mix of World of Warcraft (it's actually a complete rip-off, down to exactly the same quests in some instances!) and some sort of anime. So far I've been having fun with it. The main selling point is that you're allowed to choose TWO classes in one character. The way it works is that each class' skills are divided in General skills and Class-specific skills. Your primary class has access to its own General and Class specific skills, but only the General skills of the secondary class. You can switch freely between your classes (except you have to be in your own house to do it), although it poses problems because you basically need two sets of equipment if you switch often. A mage can't exactly wear the same armour as a warrior. Apparently there's stuff you can pay real life money for but the game really feels free anyhow since I still don't know what I could buy or where I could buy it. Totally unobtrusive pay features. Oh, and I had to take a picture of my character in a typical anime pose. Yes, those are women's legs. Yes, that's supposed to be a haircut on my character's head. I accidentally ended up on an all German server. I just chose the server that the game suggested for me when I created my character. I was a bit curious why everyone seemed to be talking German on the public channels.. Now I'm too lazy to switch to another server. Oh, and the patch that arrived today (I started my character yesterday) fixed the problem with the server choices! Typical!

He's silly, but I like it. He doesn't feel fake at all. And he sure is a fresh breath of air since the Krutov - Larionov - Makarov era: they were angry before the game, they were angry when they'd scored ten goals, they were angry after the game, winning against NHL teams 10-2..
  9. Wasteland was more about grit and "realism" than either of the Fallouts. Realism in the sense that weapons were real life weapons with corresponding ammo. Same with explosives and armour and general equipment. Of course, that changed in the later parts of the game when it started to involve robots and laser guns. There is definitely not as much humour/easter eggs as in the Fallouts and the gameplay was a mixture of problem solving and combat. There are STILL some riddles in Wasteland that I'm not sure I've figured out! Also, the character development is learn-by-doing AND traditional spending of skill points. It's a fantastic system and even if you could abuse it (I remember willingly falling into a river just so my swimming skills would improve as I tumbled down the rapids..), it was very difficult to abuse in any meaningful ways. There was a limited amount of ammo in the world (!), so you couldn't exactly stand around shooting your automatic rifle at nothing just to improve your skills. Also, the learn by doing was somewhat random. If you scored a good hit with a low level weapon on a high level enemy, chances were you'd improve your weapon skill (assault rifles on the Scorpitron FOR TEH WIN), but it never made the game unbalanced. Wasteland was a game about the world after a World War 3 that would have taken place in the late 80's. Fallout was a game about an alternative world after a World War 3 that might have happened if the bombs had dropped in the mid 50's.
  10. The best lockpicking minigame I've played was in Dungeon Lords, although not many people played that game so I'm not surprised if noone's seen it. Te lockpicking minigame consisted of two rows of randomly scattered symbols lined up (approximately five different symbols in each row). A progress bar of a different colour filled up that upper bar of symbols, and as the progress bar passed over a symbol, you had to match the corresponding symbol on the lower row of symbols by clicking on it. If your lockpicking skill was low (relative to the difficulty of the lock), the progress bar moved very quickly and it was nearly impossible to succeed. If your lockpicking skill was higher, it was still demanding, but entirely doable. If you had master lockpicking skills, the progress bar was so slow you couldn't fail. It was a nice mix of player skill and character skill. Edit: Oh, and by the way, Dungeon Lords may be 90% empty and devoid of content, but what's there is actually quite good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6jwE8mHLo8
  11. There were "driveable vehicles" in Wasteland :D Oh, and I have the exact same game feature wishlist as Crashgirl, except I don't just want a huge map, I want a freaking country! Daggerfall had the perfect size. Imagine having a country to drive around in, a vehicle you can upgrade (just like your own character) through quests/buyable parts/character skill, several different cities to explore, a strong, interesting story, well-written dialogue, meaningful sidequests, a post-apocalyptic setting.. It will probably never happen, although I am keeping a close eye on Rage, Borderlands and FUEL.
  12. When I worked as a games journalist I talked to Brian Fargo. He expressed interest in using the Wasteland license back then, but that's probably 5 years ago or something. One can hope though!
  13. I don't think there's an end to this. I got the final driver's license but the game just kept on going. There's yet another driver's license available if you finish 100% of everything in the game.. I'm not that mentally disturbed though.
  14. No. You're like.. 12 years old so you're normal. When you get above 20+ you'll be around 180-200 lbs for sure.
  15. Uh.. I'm 181cm. and 80kg. And I'm not fat, dammit! Edit: Oh wait. You typoed. You're actually 193cm.! That's insanely thin. That's anorexia thin.
  16. Seeing as how you usually reach level 20 after barely making it out of Vault 101, I'd say yes. But that's only my guess.
  17. I could help with the.. uh.. realism factor in seducing women!

Am I a regular? I don't know. And we're dealing with a constant annoying troll. Apologizing is so far off the chart it's not even funny. I could switch from using moron to using retard if it would help any though. By the way, two stats to keep track of tonight: will Brodeur break the win record for goalies? Will Ovechkin break the 50 goal barrier for the third time in a row, making him the only Caps player to do so? Stats junkies unite!
  19. I read about MLB 09: The Show on Gamespot. It's the only baseball game I've ever been interested in trying. EVER.

  21. By the way, does this built-in sound = too? Source: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...82E16813130183R Is it because it's built-in that it's automatically ? Or is it the brand that's important? In which case this built-in sound = or..? Feel free to explain.
  22. I'm curious, what does this mean? Are you claiming you can hear a difference in sound quality between my HD7.1, Dolby Master Studio Certified built-in soundchip and a Soundblaster X-Fi? Are you claiming my built-in soundchip lacks some vital feature that Soundblaster can provide? Built-in soundcards used to be crap. They're not anymore (unless you buy cheap stuff, of course). It's as easy as that.
  23. 26" goodness for
  24. This can only mean one thing: Feargus is gone for a few days so the devs don't have to fear his whip. They're probably dancing naked on the tables as we speak.
