Me neither. Good game though. I watched the Pittsburgh - Ottawa game tonight. Pittsburgh looks scary strong!

As someone sitting on the other side of the fence, I think I can answer these. No, crime will persist. Dumb question. Will it lessen gun related crime (which is by far the most lethal of all crime types)? Yes. It does. End of. Another stupid question. No, it will not stop ALL death by guns, only an idiot would assume so. Will it lessen them? Yes, substantially! Both deaths by gun accident and death by gun related crime. No. Does it matter? No. Geez, I am not sure if you're being serious with these kindergarten questions or not, but let me humour you. No, it will not disappear. But if you compare having a legal gun shop in every street corner to having to find a criminal who sells guns on the black market, how would you rate the ratio of availability? 1000 to 1? Do you see my point? My father owns lots of guns. Having stricter gun control does NOT equal not having guns at all. It simply means you have to prove you are mentally stable, have no criminal record and can handle a gun (hunting license exam here in Sweden). If you want to handle more extreme guns (fully automatic, exotic weapons, army equipment), you join a gun club. You don't take that stuff home with you!

Yeah, I've heard about prefetch. It supposedly saves like 0.5 seconds of start-up time from certain applications I use often. I'd MUCH rather it let me choose what I use my RAM for. I also have a harddrive, a web connection and a webcam. Should I let Windows 7 handle those as it wishes too?

Yeah, it actually made me buy it AGAIN.. to try this: http://kentie.net/article/dxguide/ Deus Ex using DX10, with 16AF, 8AA at 1920x1080. It still looks kind of crappy though :D

I think the best sword is called the Rune Sword or something of the sort. I distinctly remember having a Rune Shield and a Rune Sword.. hope it wasn't in Risen though. There are lots of things to like about the Gothic games. The no-handholding beginnings is one of them. I know this probably puts off a lot of players (who are used to Bioware's softer approach), but I absolutely love it. Being beaten to a pulp 15 minutes after starting Gothic 2 by a humongous, raging orc is one of my fondest video gaming moments (it happens if you step off the path to the first town ever so slightly).

It is an awesome game. The main flaw that's not fixable through any patch is the weaker companions, compared to Gothic & Gothic 2 + NotR. I do not use spells. I don't like magic. No recommendations here. Although on the forums, people are always talking about Rain of Fire and Army of Darkness.. You should probably aim for those. What I do know is that you'll find high quality chests out in the wilderness if you are thorough in your exploration. After opening something like 12 of them, you'll spawn a fantastic blueprint for a sword of some kind (although actually forging that sword is extremely tricky). Ignoring smithing is wrong! General tip though: Increase your hitpoints. Every potion, healing herb or healing item is percentage based while enemy damage is raw number based. So when you have 100 hp at the beginning of the game and someone you fight hits you for 20 hp, a healing flower that heals 5% will only heal 5 hp. But (after a great number of levels) when you have 1000 hp, that same creature will still hit you for 20 hp worth of damage, only now that 5% healing flower will heal you for 50 hp. Yeah, you'll get a lot of ancient knowledge just from running around and finding tablets and books. Also check out all the merchants as they sometimes sell tablets. Gold is infinite, tablets are finite.

I had the exact same thing happen to me when using the sleep mode and Win 7 64-bit. Well, not exact same thing, but it did bring me trouble.l It killed all my USB ports on reawakening. A BIOS update from Gigabyte (for my motherboard) fixed that eventually though. I am also not impressed with Win 7. Why am I constantly using 1.2 GB of RAM, without getting anything for it? It's not faster than XP, it's not more stable than XP, it doesn't do anything XP doesn't (except play DX10-11 games, perhaps, but I feel that is an artificial advantage). That annoys me. Also, in XP you could change language of your OS installation rather easily. If I want to change my English version of Windows 7 to Swedish, I have to upgrade and pay Microsoft approximately $150 or so. For a language change. Awesome.

Yeah, I am still going to Peace & Love. Jay-Z for the win!

You and I soon have the exact same computer. I am using the Antec P180 case, the exact same motherboard (which I highly recommend) and a Radeon HD5870. There's no problem fitting it into the case, by the way. Although I only have a Core i7-920.. clocked at 3.2 GHz.

Why couldn't you? Steel does not age.

I forgot which graphics card you have?

One of the aspects I like about roleplaying games is the feeling of accomplishment when I've managed to create a powerful character from the choices I've been given. To suggest that I should remove that aspect of the game to artificially enhance the difficulty is therefore out of the question. But we had a discussion about quicksaves on this forum a while ago. I distinctly remember some people using the same "self restraint" argument when someone argued they should put a limit on quicksaves.. Fess up, little hypocrites!

I'm the idiot who picked Vancouver to sweep LA :D

Finally something that was actually funny!

SJ vs COL: Jesus Christ, San Jose, if you fail yet again I'm gonna vote for you to be disbanded as an NHL team. San Jose in 6. CHI vs NSH: I expect Chicago to go far this year (again), but Nashville are for real. Chicago in 6. VAN vs LA: The Sedins will break you! Vancouver in 4! PHX vs DET: Detroit need to start waking up.. which they obviously did in the last part of the season. Great season Phoenix but Detroit in.. 7. WSH vs MTL: This looks like a horrible match-up on paper. Washington in 5. NJ vs PHI: As usual, I'm not betting against Brodeur, especially when he has Kovalchuk on his side. Brodeur/Kovy in 6. BUF vs BOS: This is a wild guess since these teams ring no bells for me. Uh.. Boston in 6. Go Chara! PIT vs OTT: Alfredsson will steal one. Pittsburgh in 5.

Don't complain, you can still wank. In fact, it is a great excuse to do so.
-
We should make first round predictions soon.. zzz
-
Sedin got the Art Ross, Crosby/Stamkos share the Richard trophy and Ovechkin gets.. nothing?! Well, maybe the MVP.
-
Damnit! I didn't check at all, I just thought I had read somewhere that Montreal needed 89 points to get the last spot and that we stole one.. I was kind of drunk when I wrote that post though. Anyhow, here's a little Sedin magic to make up for it: Goal of the year?

I think my valiant Leafs just (basically) eliminated the Canadiens

So if I make game about tending to flowers and you figure out one way to kill the gardener with the shears, even though there are a million things to do with flowers, the game is suddenly a murder simulator? Genius logic there Mamoulian Wart...

So you're comparing a game whose only gameplay purpose is to rape women to a feature in a game that has nothing to do with the actual game? Or are you trying to say that Fallout's gameplay revolves around blowing up kids? Idiotic argument.
-
So you found yet another arbitrary little feature that was so much much better in the original Fallouts than it was in the evil horrible Fallout 3? Big. ****ing. Surprise. Oh, and who in their right mind wouldn't prefer playing inventory Tetris instead of the game? But it must have been better because it was in the originals, right?
