What you did today
I was wondering about him the other day, good to know he's out.

Dragon Age 2
I think after the dust has settled from Skyrim I'll reinstall Origins, it dawned on me the other day that as much as I enjoyed DA2 I never completed it, and I can barely remember any of the characters, even though Origins falls short in quite a few areas, it's going to be remembered much longer than DA2.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
While part of it may be attributable to differences among devs, I think a lot of it is just the price of success. When I joined the Beth boards back in February 2002, they were much more like the Obsidian boards now--a relatively small community where folks knew each other and the devs were much more present. Now you have many more people, lots of them raging and/or indignantly clamoring for this or that. Sadly, the boards no longer support the level of trust needed to foster the sorts of dev interaction more common in the early days. Just too many folks lying in wait to twist words and for whom "we thinking of" later translates into "they lied to us." Todd has said a number of times that the team contains lots of folks that have worked together for a very long time and that that's where he looks for community. He and others have made comments about gaming together. Not sure about whether that includes P&P sessions, but I don't think that you can assume that because things aren't visible from the outside they aren't happening. Yeah I don't doubt Bethesda are a tight knit community, and their growing size will certainly affect how they relate to us mere forum dwellers, it's all totally understandable but at the same time slightly sad Anyway, here are some high res shots of the Alduin statue, part of my brain really wants the shiny things but the price...deary me. Also, stores are receiving their promo stuff. Why do I want that?...seriously, why?

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
Eurogamer gives Arkham City 9/10.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I really like reading The Imperial Library, especially stuff by the old devs, it shows why modern Bethesda is a different creature, none of the remaining devs ever participate in forum roleplay, and I just can't picture Todd Howard sitting down and doing pen and paper RP with all the other devs, using it to come up with interesting scenarios as they did for Morrowind.

If only, a lot of the wierd ones are cosplay pornographic hentai. But there's a ton of genius mods too, so it's a shame to write them all off - besides it's fun to laugh at the more absurd ones.. like muscle girl.. Yeah, there's plenty of none porn related mods for Fallout 3, my favourites are Fallout Wanderers Edition, Martigen's Mutant Mod and NMC's Texture Pack, weather mods also really boost the atmosphere.

Poor old Harold, I later released him from Bethesda's torment. Dust storms around Rivet City, nearing the endgame. Thank god it's over. Now I get to come here. Pripyat? Mmm, cosy. Or maybe not.

I'm about to put Fallout 3 to bed for good so I thought I'd flood this thread with pictures It begins, for the last time. Chilling with the bomb. Dull day over Rivet City. A nice tribute to the old Interplay logo. Snatcher Got grey? That's better.

What are you playing now?
I'm finally finishing off Fallout 3, Broken Steel was mostly a sodding drag, I forgot how much filler combat they shoved in there, Point Lookout on the other hand is still really nice, fantastic atmosphere with lots of little notes and unmarked quests, I just noticed Desmond the ghoul is voiced by the guy who plays the Dunmer in Morrowind

*gets out wallet* Can you pre-order?

Econo-crisis
It's interesting stuff, there are a few red streaks but at least people on the whole are looking in the right direction.

What are you playing now?
I picked up the Back To The Future game from Telltale, so far it's been fun, great attention to detail but buggy and a bit contrived, it was cheap though. Opened my New Vegas collectors edition box for the first time in a year, enjoyed flicking through the playing cards and fondling the various bits and pieces, I'm gonna have lots of fun when I finally replay it with the DLC

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I just noticed the sense of scale in this picture, it's a big step up from all the previous games in that regard

- The Perfect Setting of Fallout 4
I think it would be a mistake to move Fallout too far away from the USA, it might possibly work in another English speaking nation, the 50's "can do" attitude that Bethesda overplayed wasn't necessarily exclusive to America, 1950's Britain seems just as outlandishly chirpy. China would be an interesting setting but accuracy is so essential to satire, there's no point trying to be witty about a culture that neither you or your potential customers really understand.- Apple unveils iPhone 4S...
Steve who? Didn't he play a doctor in E.R? Really though, I admire what he did, even if I don't ever want to be part of it.- What are you playing now?
Apparently the chinese girl in that doesn't wear panties. I ended up having to google that f my life.- Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I thought Liam Neeson was well chosen in FO3, it's just a shame the WHARES MY DADDAY!? plot got old so quickly, Sean Bean was surprisingly good in Oblivion too.- Deus Ex 3
The Deus Ex tree could also be used for Deus Ex...strangely enough- Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Christopher Plummer will do a decent job, I'm also chuffed about Claudia Christian from Bab 5- Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Ah yes, the man (apparently) (in)famous for his disastrous Daggerfall and Morrowind Let's-Plays. Dunno about disastrous, fecking slow maybe, he bumbles around getting stuck all over the place but that's kind of the appeal, I wish I could enjoy a game for so long.- Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
obsesses over every frame of the demo video, good to watch if you're bored.- FO: NV (DLCS) Discussion
Bah, I keep hovering my finger over the install button in Steam but with just over a month till Skyrim and a crapload of other games to play till then I need to resist the urge.- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
Arkham city - Joker trailer Sounds like they even got the actress for Harley Quinn, I never played the first game but Arkham City is on my must play list.- ICO and the Shadow of Collossus
I'll buy them at some point, probably if I can get a cheap copy, I've always been curious about Shadow of the Colossus, great vibe. - The Perfect Setting of Fallout 4
