Gaddaffi is dead
"I'm just watching BBC news and maniacal looking politicians from all over the world are out grandstanding" Clinton is exactly who I was talking about when I typed that, she had this crazed look in her eyes when she was getting out of her plane...

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
here's a better one, no adverts and fluff.

Gaddaffi is dead
Squealing that could have been avoided by putting him on trial. I'm just watching BBC news and maniacal looking politicians from all over the world are out grandstanding, I just can't get behind it.

Debt crisis
I don't see a federal Europe ever working without some pretty drastic changes in society, culture and economics across the continent, I don't trust unelected officials to foster these changes wisely, much of what they do appears to be coercive, tricky and sometimes downright dictatorial. *edit* Though I just realised that you could apply the "coercive, tricky and dictatorial" part to most of our elected democracies

What are you playing now?
Pre-ordering has lately been a joke for me, even if the bloody things turn up they're usually buggy, so then you wait another fortnight to a month for patches and drivers

Debt crisis
Yeah I wouldn't been keen on a rapid collapse of the EU but I do think that when a problem is allowed to grow to an extreme size eventually you have to face it and endure the suffering before you can heal. I'm hoping for the best and planning for the worst.

Gaddaffi is dead
I'm all for getting rid of dictators but the media's lust for blood and eagerness to show what amounts to snuff is a bit disturbing, I'm of the opinion that everyone deserves a trial before execution, call me crazy but a manic bloodletting in the streets doesn't fill me with pride. *edit* A point to consider would be that Gaddafi deprived many Libyans of a fair trial, I'd counter that with the fact that we're supposed to be better than him, as are the people who will eventually replace him...

Some new Skyrim footage from Gametrailers.

Pictures of your games
I remember getting a little thrill when I found Ruzka, I was curious about the posters and went looking, I especially like how there's no real point to it, it's just there and you can find it, nice

Pictures of your games
Yeah they're found in various buildings added by DC Interiors, it's a really thoughtfull mod, I understand there's a version for New Vegas now, which is a damn fine idea as I was cursing at the screen every time I arrived at a cool looking building only to realise it was boarded up.

On my way to fix the lighthouse. Much better. Professor Calvert just before I end him. Back to Megaton, I'm one of those people who decorate in game houses, I am at peace with this. Nuka Cola corner and the never to be completed Bobblehead collection. Don't mind the "gentlemans magazines" under the bed, I just couldn't afford a whore when I moved to town

Graphics Card R.I.P.
I'm still happy with my 580 vs the Radeon, far fewer niggles

What are you playing now?
I'd be playing it too if it was out on PC yet

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Wizard did it Though really, I'll bet they'll have an explanation for it buried in a book somewhere.

What are you playing now?
I've watched a few let's play videos and been amused but I know deep down that I'd probably never complete Dark Souls, one to leave till I can get a cheap copy I think.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Oblivion had way more variety in the skybox as it had weather patterns and such, Fallout 3 probably does have better looking ones but they're almost static.

Gotta love that movie. I'd go as far as to say it's my favourite film but I've seen it so often that it's become a bit meaningless now, the downside of collecting all the things you love I suppose

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I feel lucky that I've only played Morrowind once, so much left for me to do and see, it's more akin to reading an excellent book, there's such a sense of place and history though as a game I think it quickly falls apart, within 30 hours I was a demigod with enough money to keep Dagoth Ur in shiny gold masks for an eternity, I restarted with a list of mods the length of my arm and all was well I agree about the new screenshots being a bit shoddy, bad angles show up the low poly geometry and the lack of filtering makes everything overly sharp, that picture of Solitude on the hill is pretty breathtaking though. *edit* Dunno where this is from but I just found it on TES forums, not sure if it's a PC shot or a composite piece.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I mod out the compass quest marker in Oblivion and Fallout, this still leaves the marker on the maps which I can quickly check, it feels so much better than forever pushing towards a red blip on the HUD and you end up letting yourself get way more distracted on the way to your target. I totally agree that no quest markers at all would be terrible, they only got away with it in Morrowind because most of the time you got actual directions from NPCs.

Books
I finally got around to reading Fight Club, it's not the easiest read as the writing style is awkward and disjointed which I assume is a reflection on the main character's issues, I'm loving every page so far though, it strikes me how well the movie captured the spirit of the book.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Pete Hines has clarified it a bit, you can apparently disable the markers completely or change the HUD opacity to completely remove the compass, though I'd imagine that'd remove everything else...oh well, as long as I don't have to be led around Skyrim by the nose I'll be happy. *edit* New screenshots coming today also

What are you playing now?
Yeah I think that's the thing with most of the crappier/weirder elements in Fallout 3, a lot of it would slot right into an Elder Scrolls scenario because of magic or wizards or demons or something, I still think Fallout 3 is Bethesda's best game though.
-
What are you playing now?
I just finished Point Lookout, apart from a few railroading moments I think it's some of Bethesda's best design and writing, I've just got to stomach Mothershi* Zeta (ahh it's not that bad) and go visit a few places in the Wasteland then I'm done, I can put Fallout 3 to bed forever

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I read through it a few days ago and I might be mistaken and/or drunk but I can't seem to see an option to disable quest markers on the compass Hmm, looks like they haven't scanned all the pages, I'll keep my fingers crossed.
