I CTD'd in Skyrim three times in one session, for the first time, immediately after installing last Tuesday's Windows Update. After powering down and rebooting, it hasn't happened since. My hourly total now is only 110, but that's in addition to 600 hours on Xbox. There is nothing more satisfying than the explosion of light and sound after killing draugr with Dawnbreaker. KABOOM Holy Smoke, 700 hours + on Skyrim is a very impressive amount of time to spend on a game. Nice one, you must know Skyrim backwards by now ? Phew, I thought my 400-500 hours was a lot.

Been playing New Vegas all week...IN MY MIND! Life has conspired to steal my spare time so I haven't been able to play much but the game has a way of floating around my head while I'm doing other things

I'd still watch it...assuming the camera footage survived the fall

The UK is filthy with dialects, I'll volunteer a couple of examples from Staffordshire. "Ayup duck, ow-at?" - Hello Sir/Madam, how are you? "Cans't kick a bo agin a wo an ed eet til eet bost youth?" - Can you kick a ball against a wall and head it until it bursts young man?

£49 ($80) in the UK, seems really steep to me but maybe they know they've made the best game evar, evar, evar?

Chris Avellone once said (and I paraphrase) that PST's story was great for a computer game but pretty mundane when compared to some of his favourite novels and comics. He's quite right in my opinion, the narrative goals of a computer game are vastly different to a novel. The difference is that I'm the one who met Ravel, I'm the one who slew Dagoth Ur, I'm the one who convinced the Master to kill himself, I don't expect these things from a novel because there I'm entirely at the mercy of another person's soul, I'm an observer. Still, computer game narratives are mostly awful, I'd have fingers and toes left to spare if I counted up the number of games that have moved me in any real way, which isn't to say that I haven't really enjoyed blowing stuff up but I'd appreciate a bit more care going into the stories, I'm not keen on this "show, don't tell" philosophy, I'd prefer show and tell.

Yeah, I like Caesar's idea of synthesis and god knows it might work but I can't get into the end justifies the means mindset required. No doubt I'll try the Legion one day, lack of quests was another thing that concerned me but the options for NCR sabotage open it up a bit.

I activated the Archimedes laser for the first time last night, I'm going NCR (second time) but I'm being a bit more mercenary to avoid making the same decisions as last time, I tend to put myself in the role with RPGs and it leads to me basically playing the same game over and over I've noticed NCR related quests quite often give you a sabotage option, it makes the idea of a Legion character more appealing...

Yeah I often argue against the idea that Skyrim's writing is bad, it's worst sin is that it's rarely inspired. After 400+ hours of Skyrim I've never seen that dungeon or even heard about it, I only finished up a play through last month and I already want to go back, OCD crack that game is

Think I'm having some kind of reaction to an e-cig liquid, dunno if it's the flavour or if they mislabelled the nicotine content but I've got a sore throat and super hurty brain. Otherwise had a boring day, the highlight of which was eating mum's experimental (and tasty) chicken and chorizo lasagne then falling asleep on her sofa.

I honestly don't understand this. Not a criticism by any means, but I can't understand how people still find stuff they missed even after they've played NV a few times already. Is it a case of me metagaming or something? Every play through, I find and complete all the quests. The only exception are when you have different factions and you can choose one side or the other. But even in those cases, I'll usually complete that quest's alternate paths in no more than 3 or 4 play throughs. I think it must be play style, I tend to go slowly and poke around every nook, I also use various mods which increase difficulty and lower the level cap so my play throughs don't last far beyond 100 hours, I'll even wilfully ignore some stuff for future plays. I should mention that I don't think there's much in the game I'm not aware of at this point, I've done almost everything at least once but there are a few plot paths I haven't been down yet, like taking the dam for House or joining Caesar's Legion.

Abandoned yet another BG1 character in favour of New Vegas, dunno why but I'm having trouble enjoying Infinity Engine games lately, a PST play through ended similarly last year. Ahh well, New Vegas is as awesome as ever, even after three years there's a ton of stuff I've only ever done once and a few things I've never done.

My first RPG was Rifts, I was a Glitterboy

Just starting out in BG:EE, I'm somewhat of a noob but I get the feeling that regular ass kickings are just part of the experience until I level up...s'pose that's what all the wilderness is for eh?

Having something of a dead spot, I "played" Dear Esther last night and it was cool enough but otherwise my entire steam list looks like crap right now

Spent an hour or so with part one of Broken Age last night, not blown away but also not put off...I want to keep playing so I suppose that's a good sign.

How Is Chris Avellone able to do all this?

Completed Dragonborn last night, it wasn't exactly an anti-climax but I was a little bit surprised how quickly I reached the boss battle, I think the issue is that Bethesda decided to go against their recent trend for linearity...the Apocrypha sections are required for the MQ but they allow you do most of it before you have to, if I'd avoided them until the end it would have felt more epic. Oh well, there's a freaking ton of reasonably interesting stuff left to do

I got stuck into Dragonborn a few days ago and I'm really enjoying it, there's loads of Morrowind fan service and Solstheim is packed with locations, my only criticism is that I think the island should have been bigger to allow for more roaming. Visiting Apocrypha was cooler than I expected, Skyrim was sorely missing otherworldly stuff so it was nice to have weirdness back in the Elder Scrolls, also the rewards are almost all books which fits the setting and pleases a lore hound like me. God knows it might end up awful in the end, I expect a total anticlimax but so far it's all been pleasant surprises

Great game, my second favorite Wadjet Eye game. Hmm, I really enjoyed Primordia so I might have to check this out.
