More like the key issue with Aqualung is that Regeneration nullifies it AND all disposable gear of similar usage. Combat Strength+Lightsabre does allow you to blast open quite a few doors that would otherwise need heavier artillery, multitools or equivalent, but still definitely not as good as microfibral muscle. Let's not forget the leg augs, silent running is definitely worse IIRC as you can sneak faster with the speed aug later on. Never mind the enhanced survivability and jumping ability the other one gives. In fact, the only tough decisions when in augs IMO were the cranial (aggressive defense system vs. spy drone) and eyes (vision enhancement vs. targeting) - and even those would mostly be pretty obvious depending on play style, just not automatic no-brainers no matter what your approach was. This is a good thing in my book. I guess you could explain it away with cybernetic augmentation, but still seems like unnecessary hand-holding in a game where stealth is just one alternative.

I tried some Force Unleashed yesterday, after watching some E3 hype of the next one. (I've had it for ages, IIRC I played it quite a bit when it came out) The combat is ok, but the targeting blows, the quick time events ruin the boss fights and I'm way too old for jumping puzzles.

Yes, or synergise with multiple DLC/other projects (though I guess they can't use ToR due to different publishers) if they need to do it later. I understand why it's absent, I still don't have to like it, though - since it sets these separately paid for missions into a clearly inferior position when compared to the ones that are in the game - that are also money-for-minute a considerably better return to your money. It's pretty sweet, but it still leaves room for improvement. -
Yep. Unlike the Deus Ex 2 (Invisible War ) dev team - they had no ****ing clue what Deus Ex was about. Yeah, it's strange - they apparently completely failed to pick up on what made the game unique. Even the move from the more classic cyberpunk setting to a more sci-fi one was IMHO a colossal **** up.

It's pretty good. Not the best ME DLC (I wonder if Bring Down the Sky is ever going to lose that position), but I'm sure a lot of people will appreciate it over Kasumi (because most people didn't understand that they were buying an NPC - and a really good gun - instead of a mission pack. The amount of VO etc. Kasumi had gets routinely ignored, and I actually prefer it over this one to a degree) because of the Brind Down the Sky like structure. The obvious downside is that the squadmates are without VO, which is made even more painfully obvious by Bioware overcompensating with mute cinematics. I'm not too fond of the Hammerhead, either, they took away everything that was good about the Mako, started over, and wound up with something that isn't really better. The "kill people and take their stuff" guy in me was also somewhat disappointed with the lack of "phat loot" or even a Firewalker style trophy. On the plus side it was fun, there was somewhat more variation in gameplay (and a certain cannon encounter is probably the neatest in any ME game so far), production values including audio (and not just VO, also general audio design are top-notch). Graphically absolutely gorgeous in all aspects. Semi-related: I'm not sure how I managed to do any killing done with my sentinel before I had the Locust. Even the sound it makes is really therapeutic -
Yes, it is.

Where are the dev responses ?

Just because people complain about something doesn't mean that they are right. -

I think it's an overall change in the way the gaming industry works. All info now comes strictly through official PR channels (and I sort of can see why, I mean at last year's e3 the Bioware Doctors let out that ME2 was on 2 discs and the amount of squad members etc... few people caught on and it was really spun by the respective PR departments into "they were talking metaphorically"). Iz big biznezz, and the information flow (apparently) needs to tightly controlled. No more friendly chats with the rabid, preordering fan(boy)s. I blame Bobby Kotick. -

Considering the amount of game "journalists" raving about Bulletstorm after yestedays E3 demo, I can only surmise that they indeed represent a different target demographic than myself. -
While EA's presentation was pretty good (it's the only one I managed to catch completely, though), Bioware was just like last year, except worse. Also, was it like everybody else apart from Riccitiello was using the Recruit dialogue stance? Even Dr. Greg had a distinct look of "umm, wtf" next to the wooden lucasarts lady. John was hittin' suave and professional so hard that Perks must have been popping up left and right!

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!, just a dumping ground
Nepenthe replied to CoM_Solaufein's topic in Computer and Console
I honestly think they have a better idea of how to direct their resources, having access to market research and sales figures. I'd say the sales have been tapering off and the demo+price cut is just them aggressively pursuing a wider audience. Not so much any of us here, as those who've just heard of the game, barely. -
And here I am, with two consoles and 0 interest in playing it. Life's unfair.

It is. Denmark, New Zealand and Australia are the countries I've lived in the last decade. Denmark lack stability, which means it's possible, but I wouldn't count on it Mmh, I narrowly missed being born in Italy and have lived almost a third of my life in Greece. Studying French for 13 years just left me with a near-pathological hatred for them, so as long as they don't win, I'll be happy - don't expect much from either of my two "almost home countries"

I must be the only person who sees no issues in liking both Bioware and Obsidian games? It's kind of like looking at a table with lemon pie, rhubarb pie and 12 plates of dogpoo and then starting a Jihad over which of the two pies is better. -

That's exactly why I say that I have to see how the system plays in the game. For now, we don't know for sure whether it's a good or bad system. Since they still have xp in, it looks like it's going to be a bit more complicated than the first one. Let's face it, the DX1 skills/augs division (improved hacking/multitool/lockpick use & skills) vs. augs (silent running, machine/human invis etc.) wasn't such that they wouldn't necessarily make just as much sense the other way around. I'll wait and see what they do with this (as with just having one type of ammo for every weapon, but most DX1 guns didn't have alternatives, either) first. They seem to be doing a lot of things right, so far. Hope to get to see some in-game footage at e3.

They also had some of the best AI barks in the game... "Your time is done, primates!" -

The (Gamestop) Assault Pack was available in Europe. How do I know? I have it. I'm using the Grizzly now. Just a normal AR, with just slightly better stats than the default Hamilton one. -
Let's wait for something else than concept art before we make any assumptions about the nature of the game. I mean, all the games in this "Fallout" series had identical gameplay?

Obsidian making Dungeon Siege III

And I thought "Mideval" was the worst one I'd have to read this weak. -
I imagine that it's at least partially related to discouraging players from save-reload gaming the dialogue system (as well as the hacking/lockpicking/whatever minigames). yeah i can deal with checkpoints but not with one slot to save; if i commit a mistake i need to start the mission from the safehouse. Ex: when you need find Mina or Scarlet if the door get blocked your only option is start from the safehouse or end the game without finding them. Uh.... "Save last checkpoint"? Or you want it spoon-fed to you, multiple autosaves? I sure had way more than one slot to save.
