  1. The way I read it was that neither of you understood what I was saying. Of course, I apparently zoned off in the middle of it and left at least one sentence unfinished, I can't really blame you. I was saying that wealth should be eliminated from the university process in general on one hand, but on the other hand there shouldn't be a subjective right for everybody, regardless of talent to pursue a university education. The Australian system of finance seems interesting, a lot fairer than what we have hear (which is why people choose to work their way through school instead of risking student loans).
  2. :DDDDDDDDDD Yeah, ok, I admit, I'm thinking of the big airline pilots, but generally, the top 100 earners in an airline will be the CEO + pilots.
  3. But you can't _give a poor kid a break_ in his life, is that what you mean? Climbing through social strata is hard enough when you aren't born into it, when you have the whole world against you its next to impossible. So why is a qualified kid without the economical means less deserving of higher education than a rich prick? I disagree with this fatalistic notion that as a general rule you are poor because you are stupid and lazy and therefore your son should also be the same. The option should be viable for those who want to better themselves. No; See the point above about the current trend (in more places than the UK) of trying to send everybody through a university education. The system starts to slowly collapse when everybody starts doing random degrees "to better themselves" instead of Now, while I believe that studying opportunities should be handed out based solely on merit (and, unlike in Sweden where you can buy yourself into University, they are here), I insist that they should be limited in number.
  4. While I do realise that the EU is Satan, the human rights complaints go generally to the European Court of Human Rights, an organ of the Council of Europe, which, in fact, has **** all to do with the EU. (Russia and Turkey, among others, are members of the Council of Europe).
  5. While the advantage of multiple personality disorder is not using the same accounts.
  6. Human rights have been used to legitimise socialist charters for quite a while now.
  7. Not on the hacked server, at least.
  8. I'm sure this abnormal state will pass soon. If condition persists, please contact a medical professional.
  9. Yeah, that I agree with, the classic R becomes PG-13 when the squibs don't go off is just absurd.
  10. As usual, because legislation like that has been in effect here (and in a lot of other places) for decades (and extends to movies and tv, as well), I have a hard time mustering the requisite amount of nerd rage. Been able to buy all the stuff juuust fine. And no, this time I won't even go to the absurdity of treating sex as harmful but violence as normal.
  11. Oh, ok. Wonder who was having a similar issue in DA2? Or was it even this forum? I really should stop doing this forum commando runs while writing, everything gets jumbled.
  12. You're getting a lot of strange load crashes (you had them with DA2, too, right?). Anything strange with your hardware?
  13. That's strange, the e-mail I got was sent to a different e-mail address from my current EA/Bioware account. So I really doubt it's related to the current accounts or DAO/ME2.
  14. Even if they have, they've been backing up (worse than a krogan toiler, snicker) on a lot of the things they said when they were feeling ecumenical in the early post-soviet era.
  15. Meh, I didn't even think I had an account there.
  16. Yes, I can confirm that mine is nearly five months overdue.
  17. That problem is not limited to the U.S., (un)fortunately. It also transcends, as you sort of point out, any individual or even parties. I believe that the original concept between a strong president and a parliament was that you elected both your ruler (the president) and your representatives (the parliament) who acted as a control to the ruler. The system has evolved to the point where you just pick guys for oligarchy; no matter what the negative fallout of their results is, they know that they'll never have to personally face them.
  18. Not really, ever since fairplay was removed and itunes music is drm free, you can run it in any player (well, any player worth using, since they are standard aac files). The lock-in effect comes from the iphone (and ipod touch) ties,* and is related to the mobile aspects. *since anyone who can get a PC game run reliably can use an itunes alternative to communicate with their ipods for music purposes, which is certainly everybody in this forum.
  19. Are you sure you're not interrupting your combo? Beating the first three guys in the game with one continuous combo sequence gets you over 20 easily. Not at all, I could just as well suck at this to a greater degree than I've realised.
  20. So, still managing about an hour or two of arkham asylum every day, before I just get bored of it. The combat system is a bit more fun now that I get jumped on by massive amounts of mooks, but I still haven't managed to chain a combo longer than 13 just because I've had everybody down for the count at that point.
  21. Fixed that for you.* *I hate doing that, but in this case, it seemed appropriate.
