I think the main difference was that EADM was really bare-bones, while Origin features a more steam-like interface and "cool stuff" like videos. There's also the fact that EADM wasn't that good, but AFAIK you COULD redownload pretty much all EA games through it, if you had the CD key (so you weren't tied to the original media, which I always thought was pretty cool of them).

Sounds like Daikatana all over again. Eurogamer, the same company that gushed over gears of war, and gave fable 2 10/10... Yeah they're about as credible as Joystiq with there current "EVERYTHING SUCKS" spree. F***ing parasites. I sort of agree with you, their Sony headlines have been tabloid quality and their Mass Effect 3 preview looked like it had been authored by someone with a negative agenda (So, Monte, you contributing to Eurogamer in your spare time?). I've still found that in the long run, their reviews are the closest thing to something I can use as a decent guideline.
